    Has no one else put together that Brad from Foundation Disc Golf is the Brad that he is talking about?! And blown away by that? Or am I just late to the party?

    So psyched for this! Rick lives just down the road from me, he plays dubs at our local course, and on Thursday night he was literally walking on clouds when he told me that Disc Dots were going recycled. Such a moment for disc golf, and such a great concrete example of how our manufacturing should proceed in the future. Jesse, you and the Trash Panda folks ROCK!🕺

    The one possible down side to disc dots in general is that they are not on course baskets. Why would you want to practice with something you can’t use on the course or ima tournament?

  • @randomnpc873

    this had nothing to do with the disc dot. i just wanted to say that u can tell a story about literally anything and your story telling/cinema photography is so interesting!! i’m aware of it just don’t know how you do it but just wanted to say good job and keep it up! 👍🏻

    The realist in me wants to point out these are technically just garbage that isn't yet in the landfill. In 50 years, nearly every disc dot will be thrown out or floating in some waterway. But then again, everything is garbage. Probably best to just lower your manufacturing waste and push the scraps back into the process.

    I ask this as respectfully as possible- Why wouldn't you simply use a piece of twine or something thats NOT plastic to achieve the same goal? I don't really see how this is justifiable even if you're only mildly concerned about the environment. I feel like we should be limiting our plastic use overall and this just isn't it.

  • @erikfickey5033

    @erikfickey5033

    This is my respectable answer. The plastic being used which is TPU 95a plastic has already been made by someone else and on its way to a landfill. It's diverting the plastic from ending up in a landfill. While also enlighting larger manufacturers to start following the same business models if they're going to continue to use plastic. It is more than the right thing to do. Respectfully answered as best as I know how from what I've learned from Jessie and the knowledge that the trash Panda team has passed on to all of us. I highly encourage you to go back and watch previous trash panda videos that give even a better detailed answer.

    Thanks! I definitely watched it. I'm sure you're fairly educated, but the recycling process is terribly polluting and bad for the environment on its own. Therefore, to me that plastic (and all plastics) should be treated like lead - as in use it when you need it, but don't make frivolous things with it. Recycled plastics are a costly resource and I don't think we should encourage people to use it for things like this when you could use something actually good like twine to achieve the same goal. So I still disagree with the premise. I think the product itself is something that shouldnt exist at all tbh, but I'm not going to die on that hill or anything. I'm not judging most folks for using them, unless you build your reputation on preaching sustainability. For me, it's just a hypocritical premise. Like "animal cruelty is bad, but we're way less cruel to these ones and they're already used to being treated like this so it's a net improvement." Obviously thats an extreme example lol. @@erikfickey5033

    Since you seem interested, consider researching the ways plastics recycling (and the entire recycling industry in general) is mostly a huge scam and waste of energy. That’s not to say we shouldn’t make individual efforts to reduce plastics use and to reuse plastic items whenever possible, just that you might be surprised to learn what’s involved when recycling becomes business and/or politics.

    I agree. You could use anything. But also I don’t see this product as overly useful. I have one in my basket and it’s never helped anything for me personally. Not to mention if you’re going to practice from different angles you need to put them all over the basket. Just my opinion. But seems like an unnecessary accessory. I also suck at disc golf so take it with a grain of salt haha
