IMO we have pretty similar cuisine. I'd say that, when it comes to Slavic countries, Polish cuisine is the most similar to Czech and Ukrainian ones, but probably the most corresponding one in general is German cuisine. We both love fat, sour and pickled flavours. Cheers, mate! :)

@@PacekBrudnyPlacek Don't forget the nation love to kiełbasa. Exactly like Germans. 😅 When I see the "best of Polish cuisine" and "best of German cuisine" I often have "deja vu". Of course each of them is unique and veryinteresting and tasty. But the fundamentals are pretty similar. 😅

@@PacekBrudnyPlacek well, similarity to Ukrainian cuisine is because ukraine's terrains were part of Poloand for centuries. History of Ukraine is like last 100 years and it exists thanks to russian communists. But the casae is that it was territory of Poland ;) also the same with lithuania. A lot of Polish dishes are similar to lithuanian, ukrainian, cause that were territories of Poland

Kraków is very culture-oriented old city, full of our traditional food, I would advise starting there if you want to visit us! Other nice cities to visit to try local food are our mountains with various chesses, sweets and meat, in Toruń we have a very popular Polish gingerbread, in Trójmiasto we have local fish (just don't go there in the summer season tbh, prices are always getting very high there in that time), in "Kaszuby" we have one of a cultural minority as well as in Śląsk. Both of those places do have rich historical culture and very interesting, even sometimes weird food.

You won't eat real bigos in any restaurant. The reason is sanitary regulations. Traditionally, it is cooked for several days. It is tastiest with venison. There should be several types of meat and several types of sausages, dried forest mushrooms, prunes, red wine. Obwarzanek krakowski dates back at least to the 14th century. The dough is first steamed, then baked. Bagels also come from Krakow. The Krakow Jews started baking them in the 17th century. Bagels were given to women after a successful birth. Bagels migrated to the USA in the late 19th century. It was the time of the Great Emigration. Bagels today are a symbol of NY or Toronto, not Krakow. These potato pancakes looked very bad. I wouldn't buy them. Good potato pancakes are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. 🙂 Visit the Vodka Museum when you are in Warsaw. There you will learn everything about this drink.😂😉😊 This was the courtyard of the Jagiellonian University founded in 1364. It was the Collegium Maius building.

if u want to talk about bigos, remember that in the beginning it was just mix of different types of meats with citrus and ofc wine, sauerkraut was only added later by the poorer nobility, who wanted to eat like the richest nobility, and could not afford bigos in the original version. Also i don't agree with your fist sentence. There are no regulations that u can't eat bigos in any restaurant. Of course they won't prepare it for you in original way (for days) but they still can make and really make very tasty bigoses.

Thank you for trying real Polish food, not just the usual pierogi (although they're pretty good). Poland grows pretty much the same food as the UK but its just cooked and presented differently due to the influence of our neighbours and geography. I get so annoyed at tourists who make vlogs about their stay and eat pizza or burgers because they're too afraid to try our delicious food, shame on them. Part of the travel experience is to try food from where you're staying, that's how you expand your understanding of how those people live. If all you want is burger or pizza stay at home
