For the chicken we make something similar only we don't coat it all the way like fried chicken. Chicken breast or tenders, spoon mayo on top to coat, sprinkle with mix of parmesan, seasoning salt, pepper and garlic powder. Bake @ 400°F until chicken is done. We serve it with potatoes usually. We're a family of 6 and I do 4-5 breasts split horizontally, 1/2 cup-ish mayo, 1/2 cup parmesan, 1tsp of each seasoning.

I use those "single use" plastic straws on my strawberries. The plastic is thin enough that it can cut through the strawberry easily, and doesn't take out more than you want from the middle! Just remove the leaves, then angle the straw into the berry going in a small circle around the stem to make a little moat, then put the straw directly over the stem (so it's resting in the moat you just made), angle very slightly just to dig it in a little, and push down. The stem bit of the strawberry will now be caught inside the straw. Just twist as you bring it up, to be sure the middle doesn't fall out, and you're good to go! You can either squeeze the strawberry bit out, or leave it in, when you go to the next berry. And, you can rinse the straws to be used again for this purpose!

Barry the best thing to open jars are these jar grip "cloths" or rubbers, it's like a mat, sort of like the bottom of a mousepad, you just hold it to the lid and it gives perfect grip to open stuck lids, they're so cheap I've gotten them free at tables at health fairs.

Yes. If you wedge the back of a small spoon between the lid and the glass thingies that the lid turns on and you then push the spoon up you lift the vaccum and can then easily open it. Works on most glass jars eg pickles, beans, honey, jam etc. Can take a bit of practice to find the right spot though.

there are a number of milk plastics you can technically make, but I believe that they require a little more work than just boiling them for a few hours, i think you need to add something to it.

It's less about expecting it to work and more about putting it to the test. Think of it like Mythbusters. Hell, he even said it was a bit of a myth at the start.

the fried chicken hack is from shake-n-bake from the 80s. instead dipping of water or milk it was miracle whip. it was one of those odd collaborations. thin down miracle whip with a tad bit of milk. then shake it in the shake and bake.

Ah yes, Alton Brown hacks. I'm one of his biggest fans. I've been to his book tours and seen every episode of Good Eats at least 30+ times. He is what got me into cooking.

So, just a heads-up-the milk trick does work, but ONLY on bone China. My mom has used it to improve the appearance of a couple of antique bone China plates she collects.

that jar one may work but i'd use some kind of rubber strip, not that plastic. the rubber isn't as slippery and will grip more. i have a store bought verson of that one that works great, you pull the rubber strip through to adjust to different sizes of lids

I can't say I've ever had problems peeling a hard boiled egg - certainly never enough to make me waste sticky tape on the problem! Just roll them on a work surface with your palm to crack the shell and peel it off!
