We Still Don't Understand the Plot of Total Recall (1990)

The perennially unpleasant Bankrupt Barry is in over his head with yet another classic film. Starring Sharon Stone, Rachel Ticotin, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Michael Ironside, Paul Verhoeven's 1990 Total Recall offers stunning visuals and a mind-bending plot. Is Arnie's character really Douglas Quaid at the end, or is he Carl Hauser? Why are there still human cabbies on Mars if the automated Johnny Cabs exist? Does Kuato have his own independent digestive system inside Marshall Bell's body?
Resident film buff and Vienna sausage enthusiast Bankrupt Barry fails miserably at addressing these and other questions. He also seems to misunderstand the film's somewhat mysterious.

If this is only the vacation, why do we not see everything out of the view of the person on vacation? So this is not the vacation? Or? If this is not the vacation, what happen to the Aliens?
