Blade Runner 2049: Slow And Deep, Just How We Like It

Ornery, unsightly, and highly underqualified, Bankrupt Barry tries his best to analyze yet another well-loved film. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Blade Runner 2049 (released in 2017) serves as the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's original Blade Runner (1982), and stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Sylvia Hoeks, and Jared Leto. Among other themes, the film explores important questions about simulated consciousness, human agency, and identity in regard to both human and non-human entities.
Critics have complained that Blade Runner 2049 is somewhat slow and rudderless, but Bankrupt Barry appreciates a movie that's slow and deep (it's entirely possible that he's thinking of the wrong movie).
