I think it’s so in-character for Addison to be so inexperienced to overlook the broken fridge he failed to fix as a reason that the customers are unhappy with the decor, and immediately blame the inexperience of the staff he hired.

When you hover it says the mac and cheese was made by Mario, Katrina's husband, so that's just leftover from the previous emporium 😂 A gift from their 4x great grandpa!

I don’t know how international this problem is, but in my country we had to make it illegal to take your kid out of school for vacations and stuff because kids were missing too much school. So maybe sims have the same issue 😂

I actually think it’s so cute Hillary stayed back for that free dessert to see Allison a bit longer 🥰

Between the broken fridge and the broken toilet, I can't imagine what they don't like about the ambience. lol

Running a beautiful restaurant, and he ends up eating prehistoric Mac and cheese, and floor salmon! Yum!😂

If you want really good fertilizer you should get insect farms, thats what i have started using. Select the bombardier beetle and take care od them til you can harvest the nuggets. Not only is it going to give you the nuggets to make food with, but also something called "super fertilizer". It immediately lets the plants evolve for the first 2 or 3 lvls so you have amazing produce really fast

@@mistresstia my sim has 3 insect farms and can harvest nuggets & fertilizer once a day. One harvest of a full farm gets you 2 super fertilizers and 2 nuggets. It might take a bit longer than just using strawberries and such, but the fertilizer quality is way better. In my books thats a win

@@AnnaRammsteiner you still have to nurture them in order to get that fertilizer and that action takes hours. If you have multiple farms, it takes all day. This is just a spin-off and he will occasionally play the restaurant because the sister is still in HS. If this was a dedicated series, then having insect farms won’t be a bad idea.

You don't even need the bombardier beetle, just the regular beetles. Crickets and grubs give a rare chance as well, but not as often as beetles

Pretty sure the negative ambience was from the broken, leaking fridge and nasty toilet. XD

James: "She doesn't even work here!" Karen: I just like cleaning.

I love seeing the other bigwallets in the restaurant. It's like a crossover !

James, could you make a fitness club and add your employees to increase their skills without paying for it? One of the activities could also be charisma activities. No idea if that would work, but clubs are great for increasing skills and Addison likes fitness anyway

FYI only Clement has the $500,000, replacement Father Winters only have the standard $20,000. I found that out the hard way while doing the black widow challenge.

I like to think that Reginald is still paying the bills for the facilities since Addison is just using all of the profits on training their staff. I guess you don't get bills on restaurant lots in the game, but it is funnier to have a story reason for it. :D You are doing great Addison!

I’m pretty sure the broken fridge and mess created by it is what is making the customers hate the ambience lol I’m not even sure how Agatha is cooking without a working fridge…guess she’s super skilled after all! 😅

The random people coming in happens on restaurant lots. It's not a residence, so walk by's act like it's a community lot. The restaurant not being open just stops customers from spawning. It doesn't stop walk bys. You'll have to get some kind of gate or door at the front and lock it if you want them to stop coming in and making themselves at home. Also, that's not the right father winter. Only Clement Frost has 500k. The other random father winters that spawn when Clement is unavailable only have the standard townie 20k. The ambience problem happens when anyone gets the uncomfortable moodlet from trash or something being dirty. Spoiled coffee and tea will do that, but not sure what is causing it here. It could be the broken fridge that keeps making puddles on the floor.

I get random visitors in my families houses all the time and it is so anoying that I stopped playing.

The décor in the restaurant is really upscale. The only suggestion I might make is if you wanted to make portraits of some of the more prominent BigWallets and maybe put them where the movie posters are...Lady for sure, Anaya and Lacey that had the building as a Club, and Katrina who used the building as a museum for archaeological finds. You could also make some artwork of the building in its various designs as I'm pretty sure you have saved the lots. That's if you have time on your hands, lol.

When DO first came out, Little and Sir BW, sis and bro, had several restaurants, including a breakfast diner, a rooftop bistro, a haunted Victorian, and an underwater modern. I think they ran the existing ones while starting new one, quite the tycoons. 😀

@@LivinInSim I don't think there's an aspiration, but I think the aim was to have a five star restaurant in each world. There were a lot less world's back then, of course, but that was still a big goal! He did really well, but never quite got them all to five stars , if I remember right.

@@JudithARobinson That seems right. It was difficult to keep them at 5 stars when they were running without being there, too. This mod is really impressive. It adds so much to be able to work the various stations. The Burger Boys is the bomb, too. James and Gluon are so funny playing off each other.

Get the garage sale table, put all the items from inventory on that, then you can "collect" inventory quickly from the table.

Carl rocks!!! He makes the Sims4 a much better and playable game! Thanks James love all the content you've been putting out!

The two tables with 3 chairs each are causing me anxiety. I wouldn't want to squeeze myself past those chairs, especially not while holding a big tray or something!

James: Something in this place people don't like. 🤔 Ignores the violently sparking fridge right in the middle of the restaurant. Then again, it makes sense that Addison wouldn't really know what to do about it, so he'd probably leave it in hopes it will somehow fix itself 😂

26:43 I spotted a broken neon sign above the front door. That might be the ambiance problem bc we are always looking in from the other side when in gameplay

I had the same issues with the unpausing, and the strangers entering your lot. What worked for me was to go into manage worlds and go back to the lot and the strangers left

It would be cool if Addison spends their first pay checks inviting Hilary on a luxury vacation maybe to Mount Komorebi for a snowboarding or skiing experience or Sulani to relax on the beach.

Anybody else started singing at 16:25 when James said 'Oh I see what's happening...' (here... you're face to face with greatness and it's strange) No, just me? (Probably really only me, but it made me chuckle 🤣)

Last night on DrGluon’s first KZread stream ever! Thankfully they will play the Burger Boys with James on YT (More James Turner) and DrGluon on Twitch. I love that as I view both streams at the same time. That way I don’t miss all the chaos that happens, but doesn’t make it to James’s edited version. I just can’t miss any of the Burger Boys! I’m so addicted! 😜😂

Fixing the fridge I think helped too.

2 things: 1.) If you scored high enough points for Winterfest, you'd get the real Father Winter and possibly nicer presents... though don't quote me on that. It's still pretty random what you get. 2.) You DO remember Addyson could just busk for money instead of waiting on a bunch of plants to grow, right?

JUST A TIP! you only get half million simoleons if you marry CLEMENT FROST. any other father winters after him only give you 200k or 20k (i forgot which).

In case it keeps happening, had the same problem with error when loading to restaurant lot, unpausing and game firing my workers. I fixed it by renaming my old sims 4 folder and launching the game, so it made a new vanilla installation. Then just moved saves, trays, and stuff to new folder. Really enjoying all the videos you have been putting out, thank you!

Omg repeal all neighbourhood action plans is a game changer. Sick of my customers having bags on their heads!

I see everyone has been having problems with their sims not listening lol it’s like they have a mind of their own 😅

Hold shift while you place the items. You won’t need to select them each time.

I did see a Water All option, when you were checking to see if anything could be harvested, I think it was plants on the elevated section, so at least some plants need watering.

Since the tables by the wall are just deco move the chief stations one tile over towards them. You will still have a walk way on that side and will now have one on the smoshed side, since you can't walk through when people are seated!

I think the unpausing bug isn”t particular with Carl’s mod, bc I don’t have that mod, yet I have had the same issue. The mods I have are the TOOL mid and the more traits mod. Maybe it’s an issue with script mods in general?

I'm a bit confused, if you install AC in your restaurant, where does the utility bill go to? I mean you don't pay lot tax for restaurant.

Remember to use the peak points on something🙂

If at the start of shift... and later.... you do the inspiring speech interaction with staff including the chef (or especially an employee not doing much)... and not just praise... it helps.

I would be really disappointed if I were seated in any of those tables along the lower level of the platform... your head is basically at the same level as the feet of the people seated on the platform and the floor (along with anything that may get dropped).

@@rociorodriguez589 when you think about it, if you are in a place many people have walked in thousands of years, wherever you step someone might have died, had their first kiss, stumbled, lost their groceries, etc..!

I find that if you place on the tables the candle that came in the Dine out pack, your customers won't be as unappreciative with the ambiance. Try replacing the plants on the tables with those candles.

You can add the red rope fencing from Get Famous (or any fencing) at the entrance of the restaurant to stop passers-by from coming into the building. I just like the red rope fencing because it looks more bougie

Be careful spending money on training because wages aren't taken out of business funds until you close

I'm late in commenting this but the sort of pause unpause fast forward like not like undoing is just a general glitch right now you can get. I always have to click multiple times in order to get the game to do what i want when it comes that. It happens even when you have an empty lot.

Do you think an ambience radio speaker would make them happier?

I don't know if you know this..but you should because you're a professional game player at this point, you can turn off neighborhood action plans in the settings under game options

you should try the mod for grannies cookbook and the ask mod cant live without them lol
