Something i learnt from 20 yrs of retail; Never say sorry for the wait. Always say thank you for your patience. It is a more positive way of apologising especially if its not ur fault its busy. Also if you say sorry for the wait people think 'yes i was waiting' and feel they have the right to be annoyed but saying thank you for your patience people think 'yeah im patient.' And feel they are the bigger person and wont get annoyed.

There's this restaurant near me called Culinary Dropout, and I feel like something similar would suit Addison's restaurant. Maybe like Silver Spoon Dropout? It references that Addison has grown up privileged (raised with a silver spoon growing up), the spoon literally referencing food, and dropout referencing that Addison dropped out of high school.

Addison insisted the front door to the restaurant be left open at all times for the 'aesthetic'. So Reginal had to figure out a magic solution to theft and dust. The things he does for his kids.

Still in love with the rewamped Bigwallet Emporium, it looks so chic yet cozy. Also Addison is looking muuuch better now 😂

If you need a way to “remove” some of the tables because it’s too much you can always move objects the chairs scooted into the tables a bit to make them unusable but still there.

If you want them to wear a specific uniform you should get rid of the others or even try putting the one you want in the first slot. I usually just delete the others so I know that they won't be wearing anything else or that it will reset to the preset uniform. You're right, Carl's new mod is a game saver and makes it so much more fun! Thank the heavens for Carl and his mods!!

I think a great name for the restaurant would be Lady's. It would be a great nod to the history of the building and his family!

A name idea I had was “Bigwallet Eattorium” because it sounds like the original name of the place “Bigwallet Emporium”. Kind of a throwback to when Lady built and ran the place

I think it might be a cool idea to try and have Addison "pay back" their dads for the restaurant a little. Like, maybe they have to give them a certain amount of their profits or like a "rent" for them buying it for them. It would keep it challenging if it gets too easy!

JAMES!!! I've been watching you since AT LEAST end of 2017. I was in preparatory school to get into university. Today marks the last day me and my classmates have to submit our main (and final) research paper to get our undergrad degree in Biomedicine. So I'm feeling pretty nostalgic, lol. So excited for the dine out spin off! This suggestion isn’t related to the challenges with the current lets play, but as soon as you unlock the ability to change ingredient quality I think you should unlock pufferfish nigiri temporarily on the menu. That way you can set the quality to cheap and Reginald can finally “take care” of the inappropriate teacher Kenta Hara once and for all 😆

Kenta would go to the high school anyway if James decided to follow Brianne to class, ghost doctors still work in the hospital for example, and he'll definitely be haunting Addison at the restaurant, so Kenta won't automatically go away if he's dead. Also, you can't guarantee Kenta would be the one to die, it could be an unrelated innocent sim lol.

The way James said "it's salad" when looking at the menu was 100% corn kid vibes

I'm loving this! also, you can add Spinach Frittata and Spinach and Mushroom Quiche for main courses; those are pretty brunchy items. ❤

New mission! Hire as many Agathas as the game generates. A new Agatha each star rating! Definitely need music in the restaurant too! You can set the game to only play copyright-free music if you are worried about that.

This series is going to be so much fun to watch: The build is amazing, the restaurant challenge is creative, your enthusiasm is delightful, and Carl's mod makes Dine Out fun instead of frustrating.

I think “The Bigwallet Bistro” would go really nicely with the style of the cafe 🥰😅

The four Agathas for hire had me dying laughing. The clone bug is such a sims thing to have that I can't even be mad 😂😂😂

Thanks to Carl's mod now I had a restaurant in every word and most of my families had restaurant lol 🤣

Agatha's hat is part of her hairstyle. Sims with hairstyles that have a head covering cannot wear any other hats. The game doesn't allow the separate hat to show up. I was designing a sim in CAS with a hat like that and thought I'd use a beanie to cover it up for the athletic outfit, but nope. Their fancy hat still showed and they weren't wearing the beanie. I had to change the hairstyle for that outfit.

given the industrial aesthetic and the cupcake machine, I think The Cupcake Factory would be a fitting name

If the menu is just serving brunch items you could go simple and name the restaurant “Brunch By Bigwallet” or “Bigwallet’s Brunch”

Great first episode! I know the goal is 5 stars, but would like to add a suggestion. With the incredible difference Carl’s mod makes for DO, what if Addison purchases the abandoned, broken down restaurants previously owned by his ancestors and refurbishes them? I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to see those original builds reach their full potential between building updates in Sims 4 and the mighty Carl saving DO. Have to also say again this has become my favorite of your builds-the combo of greenery with the industrial style is stunning and welcoming! There’s just something about the vibe this place has! So happy all the roof shingles stayed as is from the livestream, too!

James, carrot cake is incredible. You are missing out 😌

I also like the idea of Addison goofing off all the time, part of their arrogance. They’re always taking personal calls, their friends and gf are always coming over to hang out and get free food, and they use their restaurant as their personal concert venue with guitar solos 😂

I am glad you're also doing this on KZread as a side series, not just twitch!! Both still very interesting

Yeah he decide not to stream it on twitch he live streaming on his other channel. I watch all of them live for at least a few hours her on youtube. Dr gluon streams it on twitch but James is on youtube.

This looks amazing 🤩 I love how everything is so stylish. The restaurant looks awesome and Addison has really nice looks, especially the one with crochet bucket hat and eclectic printed shirt. Looks very organic as a restaurant owner 🔥

Maybe Addison could go busking around San Myshuno for tips? But they can only go to a Festival if they get invited by someone else and then they have to do everything the festival requires which may or may not get them enough money to run and upgrade the restaurant! ALSO if they want more produce, then they have to harvest it wild, get it from a festival or fishing, or buy it from the stall Agatha and Agnes run in Henford-on-Bagley because that was a condition Agatha gave if she became a cook in the restaurant (lol ignoring the fact there are multiple Agathas... I just thought this might be fun so that it doesn't get too easy to get better ingredients to sell or use for meals.) I realize you're already doing some of that in Burger Boys but it'd be funny to see Addison traveling to haggle with Agatha or Agnes or go foraging and if you want, you can kinda fake an invite with the family, maybe Reginald invites his mom, his aunt, his husband, and both kids, or have Hillary invite dear Addy out and leave Addison as an NPC Sim for a bit but then Addison has to actually spend time with these people and socialize and you have to figure out how to get what you need (unless it glitches out lol.) IDK just trying to come up with some extra rules for the sake of it! 😂😉☺

once Addison age up to an adult, they should move out and live in the restorant, especially so you can actually use the household funds separated

Hiring a bunch of Agathas would definitely give it Cookie Clicker vibes.

Super loving this series already! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and the idea of leaning into Addison being spoiled and not really getting the responsibility of running the restaurant and all the little extra challenges are a fun twist. On a side note, I super appreciate you zooming in on the UI. Some of the options in the Dine Out section are pretty small, especially on mobile, so it's nice to have them enlarged. It's also fun to look closer at the food menu lol

Where I live there's a restaurant in an old historic machine shed. So it's called The Machine Shed. Addison's restaurant is also an old converted factory with machinery in it, so it could be the Bigwallet Machine Shed

I still stand by my idea that Kenta should be fed bad pufferfish from Addison's restaurant.

I love Carl's Mod! In the future, I'd love to see customers use the open fridge to get homemade desserts when offered "offer free dessert". That way the owner can raise their baking skill. Also, this could apply to "offer free drink". Have the barista coffee maker or bar and the customer could get their free drink (or the staff can serve them). There's so much potential for this mod. I'm going to get it today.

Carrot cupcakes are amazing! Honestly until yesterday thanks to a TikTok I wasn't aware it's not a common dessert (well, carrot cake, but cupcakes are the same just smaller versions). It's amazingly good and a favourite in many households where I live.

I woke up suddenly and realized that no, sticking strawberries and basil literally on the wall is not good decor. 🤣 Edit: 19:17 just realized he planted strawberries and basil in the wall planters which is where that came into play in my dream 😂😂😂😂

I like the name "Emporium Cafe" or Emporium Bistro" for the restaurant. Also, I think we need a sidequest where Addison tries to learn the recipe for Pufferfish Nigiri and "accidentally" makes it poor quality and serves it to Kenta at his restaurant. It's the closest you can get to poisoning food in TS4 and I think it would be fun.

Addison reminds me of a guy I went to school with. His dad bought him a record store after graduation. (He was a burnout and failed his first semester of college.) Then his dad got him a limo w/ driver after a series of drunken car accidents. I like to think Addison was a lot like my old classmate but has to take a cab to work.😉

This is so so much fun to watch and I love looking at this beautiful restaurant! Can’t wait for MORE, James! ❤

The mod allows fishing to contribute to the meals, too. He can fish for fresh fish once the cafe has some financial cushion!
