That ninja video - • “THAT” NINJA VIDEO! It...
We show you INSIDE fake van lifers "SECRET" house!! (Tiny home tour UK)
This channel has always been based around our van, from our van build series to our van life travels in Europe and our adventures closer to home doing van life here in the UK. This means most of our content is filmed in the van because in an ideal world that's where we are, travelling in our van!
However, sometimes we get stuck at our tiny home in the UK for various different reasons and that is the case now, so we thought we'd take the opportunity to clear up some silly rumours that are doing the rounds about our "secret" house and film a video showing you where we live and inside our house.
Apologies to those of you who've been with us for a while and have already seen inside our house during the MANY videos it's featured in over the years, and were fully aware we have one, but unfortunately this needs clearing up.
Normal service will be resumed next week when we are back on the road making our usual "fake vanlife" content as we are hitting the road once again.
We know that our followers are 100 percent behind us and no words can really describe the ongoing gratitude we have to have built such a friendly and supportive community. Unfortunately there's always a few sour grapes kicking around so we hope you get why we've made this video, we are sure you will. Thanks guys for always being there!

We have services like here in the USA. I don't have a busy schedule. I didn't before. My dishes were chili, macaroni and ground beef with vegetables, and regular pasta with whatever was in the cupboard. I used to work in a Italian Food Warehouse so I had access to the quality products. It was nice to get extra virgin olive oil, pecarino romano cheese and pre-made desserts. From Tiramisu to Gelato, I had my pick with a employee discount.

Having just realized that I’ve been following you and your family for a year plus (since you returned from the Spain adventure), thanks for taking me along whenever and wherever you choose to share. Get well Emily and stay well Louise, AJ and Summer. Oh, and as far as flooring in my US home, it’s wall-to-wall carpet, hardwood, and tile (heated for winter 😊). No quilts. In America, we use duvets and comforters for making the beds (so if company comes, it looks nice) then take that off and use a blanket (not quilt) for sleeping tho beck in the 1800s to 50’s, quilts were very much used - and still at times in use to day but not often. Usually a family my bed will make one to pass on but rarely do we buy one at a store -

Swede here! We usually have wooden floors, and tiled bathrooms (sometimes with floor heating). Stone isn't commonly used, nor is carpet (surprising for most non-scandinavians as we also take our shoes off at the door). Compared to the UK, houses and apartment buildings in Sweden are better isolated both with thick outer walls and double or triple glass windows. We also have some pretty effective radiators in all rooms. So our homes are dry and warm! Hope you're feeling alright!

I originally painted my house a happy blue color when I lived out of town. But when I moved into town I repainted in to match the houses around me so it wouldn’t draw so much unwanted attention. The main difference between the UK and the US with the use of quilts and duvets is that in the US you usually have a top sheet underneath the duvet, rather than just using the duvet cover as your top sheet. This means that duvet covers get washed slightly less often than your regular sheets. My understanding for the UK, (and when I lived in Ireland) is that there was no top sheets, just the duvet covers so that got stripped off and washed when you did your sheets… with our fluffy dog, we have A top sheet, then a blanket, then our duvet, then a dog sheet on top of the duvet, so that we can get away With only washing the duvet cover once a month, but washing all the sheets once a week(ish). During the rainy season, the dog sheet often gets washed three times a week, as she has a lot of fluff… and that’d be a pain in the a** to strip the duvet that often 🐾💕🐶 And feel better!

In Australia, many houses would have timber/laminated flooring as it is easy to install and clean. Tiles are for bathroom and kitchen areas as they are waterproof. Some houses would have carpet in their bedroom as it is nice and warm in winter. However, Australia can get very hot in summer so timber flooring has its advantages.

Anyone that has taken the time to browse your videos and actually listens to what you say in them can surely have no doubts about how you split your time between living in the house and van. It's not nice when folks make false comments and I'm sure it hurts but my advice would be to just ignore them as much as you can. As for folks just turning up at your door - that is seriously out of order. I admit I'd love to meet you both (well Summer and AJ really but I suppose I'd have to meet you two as well 😜) but I'd never even contemplate invading your non-youtube life by just turning up, Folks need to have some respect for others. Emily - lots of tea with a spoon of honey will help you recover. Honey is a natural antibacterial that is really good at soothing sore throats and also helps settle any tummy problems.

Get well soon, Emily and eat your vitamins Louise! Some US homes have carpet, mostly in apartments to keep the walking on floors quiet, and in the colder areas to keep warm. I personally like old wood floors myself. We make our beds a little differently - mattress sheet, top sheet, blankets, sometimes a bed spread, and then a comforter, or any combination of the above. People are starting to make their beds the European way here, but it's not common yet. In my VW bus, I have a fully made single bed, but I sleep on top of it, taco-ed into a winter comforter (half of the comforter underneath me, the other half wrapped around me, kinda like sleeping in an unzipped sleeping bag)with a various stash of blankets to add on top if needed. One of the reasons why I didn't do vanlife videos for a long time was because I didn't want people just showing up in my neighborhood expecting to park with me or hang out. Not that I don't want to meet people who are curious about what I do, but because my parking space is so sweet and if people start showing up, it might put that in jeopardy. But if I could have a house and do long trips in a van, that's would be a lovely balance.

Probably something that I've always had in homes where I've lived is a tumble dryer (for clothes) that I just don't see in pictures and videos from UK/Europe. Full height refrigerator/freezers (usually a combination single units) are pretty much standard in the US at least outside of smaller living arrangements in big cities. And in the Southeast US, air conditioning is mandatory. And there's a whole swath of the country where our roads don't freeze much and hardly ever get salted so our cars and vans don't rust away!

Love the way your navigate & word while being direct & clear yet not pushy or emotional with people turning up to house. not watched you for a while as different ones of us watch connect with different peeps/youtubers & in a few days we are actually aiming for a social media detox for 108 days while hopefully we can have some deep inwards reflection of changing patterns/habits & really suss how to get ourselves financially self sufficient maybe from youtube, patreon style things but who knows hoping meditation, our sub & superconscious and the greater forces at play will all start collaborating so this flow of clarity including values and energies of working smarter not harder happen. you two inspire us greatly and thanks for all you both do and following your dreams & passions! FABULOUS ENERGIES TO ENGAGE IN! XXXX ps it amazes us how peeps would put that effort into finding where you live. maybe its not hard but to us we wouldn't know where to start and feel it would take up a lot of time and energy to do that and if they are smarter enough to figure that out and go to that effort it would be so lovely if they found the confidence to guide that energy in more self productive ways.

Much respect for your thoughts about privacy. Meeting someone while shopping is one thing, but showing up at your house is a different matter. As a Norwegian, we are rather private, but there is a difference in cityfolks, and "us" on the contryside. Ahh, and housevise... My 5 year old house has vinyl floor in kitchen/living room. Tiles in bathroom and entrance. And cheap, fake woodfloor in the 3 bedrooms. Will change to real wood when the loan is paid back in 10/15 years time. 😉 I must admitt, seeing a washing machine in the kitchen is odd tho.. We have em int the bathroom, where leakage or spills will desapear in the drainage. 😉

Carpet is usually not used here in Sweden, not up north atleast I don't see it very often. One other thing that struck me as odd is having the washing machine in the kitchen, is that normal in the UK, or is it just because you're short on space? We usually have a seperate room for it or in the bathroom. Much love from Sweden, hope Em gets well soon :)

We don't do full carpets in Norway either. Just area rugs for decoration. I think it's because we build with wood. Denmark has more of the full carpet floors , but they build more with brick/tile so the floors aren't as comfortable to walk on. It's a harder and colder material than wood. But that's just a guess.

Yep, wash machine in the kitchen - where it belongs !! The plumbing is under/next to the sink usually (Stop tap usually under the sink) so . . . why would you extend pipework to other parts of the house to accommodate a washing machine? It's just more of a chance of a leak somewhere along the way ... and such a problem to keep checking all is ok 🙄

  • @susanb4481

@@joline2730 In US we have laundry rooms in our houses, either in basement, or a separate room, some smaller houses might have a cupboard or alcove in which stackable washer and dyer is fitted. A washer in kitchen would be seen as extremely strange. Doing laundry where you prepare food would be unacceptable . In a pinch the washer and dyer could be in a bathroom.
