We Saw WILD ELEPHANTS! Hua Hin, Pranburi Forest Park, Kui Buri National Park, Thailand Travel Vlog
In this Thailand Travel Vlog we finally succeeded in seeing wild elephants!!! We previously went to Khao Yai National Park in search of wild elephants, but we didn't get lucky that day. Many of you commented and told us we should go to Kui Buri National Park - which is what we did today!
We left Bangkok for the weekend and stayed in Hua Hin which is the perfect place to start this day trip to Kui Buri National Park!
In Hua Hin we rented a tuktuk/truck for the day. As you can only go on the elephant safari between 2pm-5pm, we decided to stop at a couple places on the way to Kui Buri.
Our first stop was at Wat Tham Khao Tao. We had seen pictures of the cute little temple in the middle of a lake before, but it was actually so much bigger than we expected! After the lake temple, there is also a huge cave temple right next to the ocean! They're both really pretty and definitely worth checking out if you're in Hua Hin!
After the temple we continued 10 minutes down the road to the Pranburi Forest Park. We wanted to go to the park for the boardwalk through the mangrove forest, however this also ended up being SO MUCH COOLER than we expected!!!! Not only is he Pranburi Forest Park actually a very big forest, it's a huge forest on the beach that you can go camping at!!! Also in the middle of the mangrove forest boardwalk you can rent a boat to take you through the mangrove forest! While we didn't have time to do that this trip, it is definitely on our to do list - along with camping on the beach!
After the Pranburi Forest Park, we headed to Kui Buri National Park to see the elephants!
It is a bit confusing to plan a trip here as we started at the wildlife observation area (not the actual national park according to google maps). You can also only do the elephant safari tour from 2pm-5pm. You can't take your own car and you can't make reservations.. Luckily we didn't have any issues showing up and paying for a truck. There is one price for the national park entrance, another small fee to park, and the 850 baht is per safari truck (1-6 people) which comes with a guide. It was so worth it, as you can see in our video!!! The guides all have walky-talkies so they can let each other know when they spot wildlife. Due to this we were able to see over 20 wild elephants!!! It was an amazing trip that we would definitely recommend to anyone! We also saw an endangered wild gaur (bos gaurus) or Indian Bison!

Minute 14.48 That's not a buffalo. That is a a wild gaur (Bos gaurus) that is normally very rare to be seen in the wild. You guys are lucky to have found it. ❤

@@noodlelover9843 Once, about 40-50 years ago, it used to be almost extinct from the forests of Thailand. but from strict protection and forest restoration creates a safe foraging area. causing them to breed more and more nowadays.

Those you saw alongside the elephants were not buffaloes.They are "guar", a kind of wild bull and also the largest of its kind with over a ton weight. They love gracing alongside the elepant herd.

dear friend You finally get to see a living wild elephant from a missed sighting on your Khao Yai trip. It's a pity that you can see it from a distance which is different from Khao Yai because of the topography but I think it's safe for tourists. Baby elephants do not like loud noises and are likely to feel dangerous. which may have some tourists disrespect this. But you two are so sweet and awesome, don't try to noise them. I LOVE ELEPHANTS 🐘🐘🐘 Do you guys like elephants? Do wanna see house elephants? There’s an elephant village in Surin! Hundred of elephants there are all raised and taken care by the farmers and the mahouts who own their elephants! This elephant village is called “Elephant World” or “Elephant Study Center Surin” and it is Krapho, Tha Tum District, Surin.

Hi! Natalie &Carles. In vid that u mentioned u see buffalo 🦬 actually it's not buffalo it's gaur.The wild buffalos have only in Huai Kha Kheang national park in Uthai thani province . It's the last squad of wild buffalos in Thailand.Have a beautiful ❤️ day and Merry Christmas.

We actually thought about that when we were in Khao Yai! 😱 we had rented a motorbike and drove around for HOURS trying to find elephants, but we didn’t see any. We thought it could be scary to see them on a bike, but we still wanted to! Luckily we got to see so many here at Kui Buri! 😍😍😍

In the lake is not a temple but pavilion. This is man-made lake which a project of king Rama 9 to solve the drought in this area.

Most national parks in Thailand can do camping, the entrance fee is included in the ticket wether you do the camping over night or just few minutes sign seeing its the same price. ( Pranburi park is just forest park I think it lower ranking lol) Camping in Thailand is the another level some people actually bring their whole kitchen to be by the beach for me it kinda annoying if you like such thing try Wanakorn nation park one of the best for such activity, that park also got a nearby coral reef island for snorkeling its nice and cheap but limited boat so need to book in advance. Ps. You guys missed the view ponits in Khao Tao temple which have to tracking a bit.

Wanakorn sounds amazing with the beach camping and reef 😍😍 we’ve only been camping in Khao Yai, but it was so cool!!! Aww I guess we’ll have to come back to Khao Tao temple again to get to the viewpoints! I’m sure they’re so nice right next to the ocean 😍
So nice! Next trip u should visit Jim Thompson farm which is in Nakorn Ratchasima city. This farm opens ONLY once a year from December until beginning of January.
