Excellent choice of color for the boot boxes. The tendency is to choose a less subtle green, which makes the tomette tiles look more orange.

Again, another great job by TEAM Budo and Tracy. I was thinking as Tracy was painting the door frame that it was a shame that it had to be painted since even with the sealer the door was beautiful. But with the sun and weather, primarily the sun, it would not look that way in a few years, thus the necessity of painting. I hope the weather will clear soon for you guys so you can get back to the roof, get the door and window installed, and then put the floor in. I think if the weather had cooperated, you would have mostly finished the kitchen by now, and we all would get to enjoy the new "Kitchen Corner" chat!

Hi Truman buddy yes we need the weather to break now its been very testing this year but it will get more interesting for people who love wood and carpentry when i hand make the window ive just completed the door this morning as well so busy inside whilst the weather is bad out side all the best Budo 🍺🤠👍🏻

The lighting, camera set up and angle for your cutter block segment was fantastic. I could see what your hands and the tools were doing and the nature of the object and its innards. So interesting, I've missed some things previously. Now I won't, thank you. The door looks beautiful. Loving the pink sequoia tints in it and the wood planings, and the beautiful sageish color you chose for the boot boxes. The pink/yellow of the tomettes is really going to be set off. Wow, good rainy day. Indoor project! The boot boxes will be perfect to keep the porch neat and tidy! In Michigan US, we've had relentless snow for a week! There was no snow of Christmas, but now it looks like we've moved to Narnia. I"ve been occupied doing small projects, cleaning and organizing and making a charity shop pile.

Hi Budo. Bit of advice if you wouldn’t mind. I built a narrow slat dividing panel between my neighbour a couple of years ago from Western Red Cedar. I need to build another 2.00 Mtrs x 1.00 mtr. The price has shot up to £350.00 which seems a lot. I was considering alternatives either Douglas fir or Far Eastern Hardwood Meranti. Which do you think would be the best?

Hi Richard Douglas fir would be better mate as its very robust and stable when its dried to the ambient temperature of its environment its to be in the only thing with Douglas fir it bleeds resin a little but that's good for water proofing but can be a little sticky in the summer but if you give it a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil before you put any fence paint on it will help a lot for long Gevity buddy hope this helps all the best budo 🍺🤠👍🏻

No its shellac oil that's it plane and simple 4 cut and double boiled linseed oil its a well known old traditional method and in my opinion the best sealer and protection for new wood, you then prime the wood after to except the under coat these are things you learn when your a trades person who's been taught by professionals and working in the trade for many many years and not DIY people pretending they know just look at KZread today most of them are know it all's never done a days work on site does make me chuckle hope this helps all the best Budo 🍺🤠👍🏻

No they would burn to quick like paper normally I would use soaked hickory or oak for the but it works well gor lighting the wood 🔥 burner xx

Best to stay clear of that lot ! You've got enough on your plate with your own projects, no need to help the un-helpable. Least, that's my opinion, that nobody asked for. : ) Some people are satisfied with the superficial and not superior workmanship. No naming names.
