Is it strange that despite being a Tunisian, I continue to learn a lot about my country through you guys 🤭? When you are born somewhere, you don't pay much attention to the specifics; nevertheless, when you arrive as a discoverer, you do 😁 We are happy to have you in Tunisia and are looking forward to your upcoming videos!🤩 PS: I really enjoyed the background music, which inspired me to take a trip ASAP🥰!

Welcome in Tunisia 🇹🇳 🇹🇳 I hope you have a good time with us. I also hope you love the country as much as I do. We are an arabic and muslim people and we are proud of it. We're also quite delighted to see tourists enjoy their trip to Tunisia. I watched your next two videos and I liked them. Please, please be patient and read this attentively. Our Tunisia is a peaceful country. It is very beautiful and relaxing. We are friendly, warm -hearted, polite and open minded and we have a really rich culture. But, like everywhere in the world, there are exceptions. We're not in heaven for sure. Just observe beauty and specialty in things and don't pay a lot of attention to less important aspects to enjoy your time as much as you can. I'm pretty sure that you are not going to forget your time with us but I prefer you have only good memories of TUNISIA. That why I want to clarify some points. If you ever be scammed or mistreated during your stay in our country please don't think of all of us the same. Bad people, thieves and scammers are a minority and don't reflect our culture and our standards. Beware of them and seek help from random people. Be sure that they're welcome to helping you whenever they're able to. Another advise is to ask more than one person just to be sure. Usually the prices are displayed but if not ask random people firts especially if the item or the service is expensive. Another point is taxi pricing. It is determined by a taxi meter that is started when you ride the car and automatically increases and you have the right to see it. The driver is not allowed to add any charges except 1 DT for large luggage. The amount you have to pay is the one displayed by the meter. In my last advise, I want to warn you about some safety precautions that may help you. First, please be sure to walk in well lightened streets and and the widest itinerary you have. Narrow, dark and unpopulated roads might be dangerous during the day and more at night. Second, do not try to go deeper into non touristic areas or try to discover a place where houses look like they are freezed during construction work. Houses that look so but there is no work going on, especially if there are many of them in a place is not a good sign. Finally, make sure to travel in authorized means of transport. Ride a taxi only if it has the number plate on the roof (Not to be confused with the number plate on the front and rear bumpers) and there is a red light on on the bottom left of the windshield. If it is a collective taxi there is a plate on the roof but no light. There are some clandestine transport but you shouldn't use it. If it's late or for whatever reason you couldn't find a means of transport there are some apps that can afford a ride for you like BOLT or YASSIR. They are slightly more expensive than normal taxis but way faster and easier to get a ride. I hope I've covered the essential safety pieces of advice you may need to have a good time in 🇹🇳 🇹🇳 🇹🇳 Other than that, I am DHIA ELHAQ and I live in Tunis. If you ever encountered any difficulty or suspicion while you're nearby or even if you went to other cities you can mention it as a reply on this comment and I will respond as soon as possible. Please don't hesitate to ask for anything at any time. Goodbye for now. Have a lot of fun 😊 ☺ and keep up the good work. I'm waiting for your next video...

That taxi scam, what a joy, normally its by the distance and the time traveled its not a fixed price like they told you, and as a tunisian I can assure its around 5 to 7dnt from the airport to the city center of tunis

@@act_sion from tunis to bizerte, you have 3 practical options, taking the bus that goes from the airport to bizerte city center arround 4dnt, taking a "louage" which are small minibuses, the ones for bizerte are in "Beb Sadoun" 6dnt, and finally touristic taxis, these are painted in white not in yellow, and they work by a fixed price you negotiate with the cab driver, it will caust arround 20 dnt or more and they are mainly found at the airport or you can order one by phone, they are different from the regular taxis cause the regular ones can't leave a city to go to another.

Regarding to the 40 DT taxi shenanigans, he didn't want to scam you just bcz you guys are tourists, they do that to locals too. And it's always the same story: "Aeroport taxi" 😒 but i think The 10DT was an accurate price because there is a luggage fee i think.

I'm sorry you had that experience with the taxi drivers It's a problem here they don't do that to just tourists but also locals If you're not familiar with the taxi pricings they'll try to take advantage of the situation. 40dt is a BIG exaggeration of what the actual price is supposed to be it's ridiculous.

Tunisian taxi charges an extra 5 Dinars for using the car trunk ... thats justify the total amount of 10 DT and you are super lucky to find a taxi driver who charged you that amount of money from the aeroport ( from aeroport to "centre ville" he will ask for 30 DT +/- 10 DT)

If they even annoy you and your report to police they will be in a very big trouble. from Airport to City Center it's hardly 4 -- 5 Dinars nothing more. maybe little extra for luggage. that is it.

To be honest we hadn't really heard much about Tunisia before we decided to travel there. So many people travel to Morocco so you hear and see a lot more of it on the internet. It would be amazing if the Tunisian government could promote tourism more. There is a lot to see and experience in Tunisia 😄🇹🇳

@@SarahandMarek let me explain why you hadnt really heared much about Tunisia . tunisia made a revolution in 2011 and lost all its tourists for many years. look at the figures for 2010... Tunisia and Morocco had the same number of tourists. Moreover, Tunisia has a much richer history than Morocco and women are much more free and respected. Without the 2011 revolution, believe me, Tunisia would be ahead of Morocco.
