Apparently a TLN in the manga said that it’s a thing in Japan where if you find a lost item, you put it somewhere obvious to be found by the owner.

Can I just say I LOVE how mature the writing and characters are in this show? After Ichikawa said he and Yamada weren't that close, Yamada let him stew in it for a while (which he deserved) before asking him to take it back. And once he did, she IMMEDIATELY forgave him. Like, how are these middle schoolers more emotionally intelligent than most high school or even adult characters?

The older I get, the more I realise maturity isn't tied to age. As you said, there are a lot of emotionally immature adults.

I don't think it was Moeko who hung the dog on the branch. In Japan, that happens. A passerby finds something that was lost and put it in an obvious place so that the person searching for it can find it easily.

I have to say I am always impressed with the pacing of this series since the halfway of season 1. Nothing feels left out, I know some jokes or metaphors that are in Japanese don’t go through most of the time for others; but they hit hard. I am still convinced it was Moe that picked up the dog keychain. Nothing is confirmed who found it, but it’s whatever it is my canon moment for Moe lol. New music tracks this season! Get ready everyone!
