What a sweet Snow Girl you are with on your voyage. You are the most fortunate of Men !
The green and white contrast of the landscape with Sophie's blue eyes in one of the takes, was poetic. Great video guys.

I agree. The "feel" of these videos is always very simple and honest. But the effect is spectacular.
With your Finnish heritage, there is a small village call Sointula on Malcolm Island which you will pass quite close as you journey up the "Inside Passage". The village was settled by a group of Finnish freeman who had initially been recruited as miners (coal). Their treatment by the corporate powers lead them to petition the Government of Canada for a freehold homestead and they were thus granted the site on which the community now stands. A communal effort created a Finnish language school and library (now the communities museum) and what is currently the "longest continousely operated Co-op retail outlet in North America". They are very very proud of their heritage as all Canadians should be. All facilities are within 200m of waterfront moorage......enjoy.....bear (a local sailor)
You are truly blessed to have two wonderful women in your life.
Merry Christmas' past guys. Hey, you know what? Two days past, I've bought my very first yacht !!! And I can say it's in part due to yourselves, Sailing Melody, SailorBarry and Sampson Boat Co. that inspired me to buy it. I have become enamoured by the life on the water that you guys portrait. A new path visualised, the first step taken. Wish me luck.

Congratulations on taking the plunge to boat ownership. Welcome to the madess. ⛵
The look of contemplation and contentment on Sovhi's face in the last section is what we all aspire to in sailing. Excellent cinematography too!
I'm sure it's a wild adventure where you and Sophie are now! Snow sailing is very breathtaking! Fair Winds, taking this purpose built vessel to what it's designed to do. To think how she sat for those years. Now she's on the move! Great job, Captain! :)

I guess Sohvi is just going to have to get used to the English spelling! Luckily for my Austrian Grandaughter, it's spelt the same way😇
For me as a german spring person its so hard to see all that snow ... and at the same time I feel how you enjoy that ..... Thanks for sharing :D
I don't care if it's late. Without you I never would have seen these beautiful scenes at all. Thank you.
You put out the finest content of any sailing channel. You drone work is fantastic. I fly my drone often. But here in Indiana I have nothing that compares to what you have.

Watching from Indiana to😀. Used to have a sailboat when I lived in Denmark but to little water here 😫.
At 10:23 like the snow hitting a beautiful fire I melted. 🔥...................⛵⛵⛵
Amazing content! Veera looked like she was enjoying herself ... always had a smile on her dial
Very few people sail that route in the winter. My hat is off to you. Great episode.
As much as I love your videos, I live in the desert of southern Arizona and just imagining your circumstances in this video sends a shiver through my 87 year old timbers! Keep them coming please.
Best way to see the rocks is to look for the colorful anemones and starfish.
Don't mind waiting...worth every minute.
Be careful entering bays at night along the BC coast, they can be full of crab pots and the lines attached to them can really foul your prop. Use a good flood light to help spot the cab pots.
Very much my favourite sailing channel.

thanks so much!
We who live in a country with a winter know what he ment by "cosy". It's when it's a storm and dark outside but inside it's warm and cosy. I wonder, do people living in a warm climate feel the same in the same way.
Thanks for showing me that sailing in snow is not only possible, it's otherworldly.
Cold climate peoples, the cold and snow does make life more difficult. It is brutal to live one's life in the cold, and battle the snow. But there's a peace to it. There's a comfortable solitude in that brutal climate. Makes for a hard life...
Thanks!

oh wow, thanks Steve!
I don’t have interest in the computers but I am interested in the learning . It’s beautiful ❤
LOL, wasn't expecting that surprise ending, yes, merry christmas
Dude, you almost got stuck in a 16 knot head current coming through that pass and you put the footage on high speed!!!!!!!! That was a moment of high drama that needs to be milked for your viewers. Beautiful shots though. Loving your adventure. I am more of a Caribbean kind of sailor these days so I am enjoying the cold weather sailing vicariously, which is how I like it.
10:23 What a beautiful smile 😊
As a Finnish Canadian that loves winters and sailing your channel is the best! Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year!🇨🇦🇫🇮☃️🎄🥂🍾
Best sailing, reality not hopping from one bay to another waiting for perfect weather conditions. Thanks
The entrance to the Octopus Islands is a nail biter in the summer! You guys did great!
I have always loved fins and Finland. I love sailing too. My friend helped set up the spoken Latin radio station in Helsinki. No kidding. I am an old man. I never stop talking. Not very popular at dinner.
Remember, it's not the destination, it's the journey. I've skiied everywhere from Chile to Italy to Utah, and for my money, some of the best skiing in the world is in BC.
Handy that the logs are covered in snow, too! Sure makes them much more visible! Great, (chill!) video!
You are quickly getting yourselves into my regular sailing videos... 👍 Uma, Yaba, Curiosity, The Pickled Herring, Atticus 2, And my absolute favorite channel, I think is NBJS. No Bullshit Just Sailing. Can't forget the.. man who's name i forgot. 🥴 Christian Williams? No, but close. He sailed solo to Hawaii to meet his family. Very good narrator non the less. 👍 oops also forgot the boat Tritea. Haven't heard from her in a while. 🤔
Somehow I missed the release of another great episode of Alluring Arctic. Juho the segment from 10:00 to 11:00 was magical. I watched it 3 times it was so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
The sailing northern environment is truly beautiful. If more people had a chance to even see it like your channel provides, humans would exercise more care on the planet they inhabit. It's sort of nice to reexperience Xmas in the end of February!
Thanks so much for showing the chart plotter to show Surge Narrows. That was certainly narrow!
you made me smile, my mom had the angel/ candle chime every christmas and I had forgotten all about them
You peeked inside and I could hear the diesel heater pump. Reassuring sound.
I absolutely love these videos. I wish I could go on these kind of adventures.
That had to be some of the very best sailing video we've ever seen. I'll take snow and fir trees any day over the Caribbean. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful photography, thanks for the winter version of our sailing world.🙏
NOT releasing them in real time actually makes it seem more authentic. Like you are telling us a story rather than trying to sell us a story. Every other channel just churns crap out and it get really obvious that sometimes they are filming stuff and doing stuff just because they feel the need to release *something*. It just feels really fake after awhile. Don't change, keep doing what you're doing.
Respect!!!,,,,,,,I will stay in the tropics
Very impressed with your wide set of skills. Love the drone footage here.

So beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.
Beautiful British Columbia.... belated Happy Holidays!
What a great cosy anchorage to spend Christmas. The drone footage really captures the majestic remote beauty of your location.
This channel popped up and I'm hooked. I've been watching all night. The videos, music, camerawork, love between all of you, it is all just perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Hygge! Looks so cozy in there…
Vackra bilder. Det var helt magiskt. Som en skärgård i Östersjön. Men på vintern. Och ett änglaspel på julbordet. Fint!
So, when you have the opportunity, let us know how you are liking the "new" boat. Really enjoying your videos!
watching this snowing in Vancouver at the moment - it has not snowed here since you passed through !
Cant wait to get to Alaska will be there in 2024 sailing on a catamaran
Stunning.... Just Stunning.... Thank You... 🙏
Very beautiful spot enough christmas trees and snow. just around the corner lives our aunt on quadra . I hope to sail there too in a few years.
I'm hooked on your videos. This one is one of my favorites...excellent job...love the music too!!
I would feel right at home up there. Although our lineage has been in the US since 1690, my Father’s family goes. Back to Norway- and has ties to King Harald and his son- Oslo is on my bucket list! Happy sailing- the scenery is 5 stars! Olaf- Philadelphia ⚓️🦉
If you have room for a battery powered leaf blower, it will do a good job clearing fluffy snow
Honestly, i love everything about this video. I love watching you guys.
The Alluring Arctic Cocktail Drinking and Falling Overboard Society were hoisting and guzzling copious swallows of Lonkero every time Capn' said..'cozy'....Kippis!
Breathtaking photography. But I don't know how you can expose your hands to the cold. Stay warm and safe. Hope your crew are tied to a safety line when moving around on deck in the snow and ice.
They should make something like a train’s cow catcher for boats to deal with the logs!
@Smitty134
Ай бұрын
Let me add a caution. The logs that will take out a hull still have the roots attached. They bob up and down and act like a hole punch. The only thing you can do I read is drag a sail under the hull and hope it slows the water down to give you time to get safe.
A beautiful anchorage, with exceptional solitude! Wonderful video, thank you. Have you figured out what the fuel capacity of the boat is? That is very important when you are doing a lot of motoring. Sometimes, you have to buy containers that you can store fuel on deck with. Purchasing the cooling system heater was an excellent move, I would say, as you can heat the boat up when motoring, which you have to do quite a bit to navigate all the narrows. Driving off the damp is really hard when you are only using a single heater. Please consider wearing life jackets when working on deck in slippery conditions! You are extraordinary explorers, venturing into the stillness of the North in Winter. Apparently, your repairs to the satellite dish were successful, which is a testament to your ingenuity! Have you been spending any time insulating the boat? We have had very cold weather where I live, and I can sympathize with sleeping wearing stocking caps! Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful😊 watching this gives that attunement with the universe feeling and I see Sofie has the right idea of being curled up and snug in a nice warm cabin and the view through the window from outside looks so cozy , it must be lovely snow sailing as long as you have the right clothes to be out on deck in and the views of the shore line are breath taking😂😂.
Very very beautiful episode but I'm glad I'm not there. I don't like the cold.
2 words come to my mind after watching this. No Thanks. Love your show, keep safe please.
You all are amazing sailing north in the winter. God speed and fair winds.
Congratulations sailing ⛵️ to Alaska. The most beautiful place to be .
Yea like that strange feeling of forward motion when two trains pull up together at a station and the other departs ahead of yours. Envy you having all these remote places to yourself. Be well.
Great video. At the beginning you said "forewarning". As a story device we use "foreshadowing", which means almost the same thing but noooot quite.
To me this is your best video. And one of the best sailing video on KZread. Thanks.
Danke!
Congratulations for this episode, there is a huge efford and you can clearly feel it when you watch it. Congratuliations crew!🤘🏿
so good to see Veera.. this is great travel
I love seeing you guys explore our home waters! I grew up going to wiatt bay/octopus islands very summer. Also love how you guys are out exploring the waters in the depth of winterwhen most Canadians are tucked away. Can’t wait to see some ski content!
Sohvi is great. Juho, you've probably already figured it out but these Garcia's handle entirely differently when the centreboard is up. Steering is way less responsive. The boat doesn't pivot quickly when using the bowthruster (do you have one?). So watch out for this. It could surprise you, at the worst moment.
We have about four in. of snow again and it's snowing right now! We usually get two snows a winter so now were heading into spring! Cheers!
Incredible! I've been enjoying watching sailing vlogs here on KZread for years. You've just made yours my favourite!
Fantastic well done and thank you so very much, lovely to see your adventures, fair winds and safe passage, cheers John
Such a beautiful passage and the boat looks like it was built to handle the challenge. Great video!!
Merry Christmas, haha! I am not much of the holiday type, but anchored out there with a candlelit dinner with loved ones. Super super cosy!
I'm re-reading "The Arctic Grail" and wondering about your plans for the Northwest Passage. How long are you planning to take to get through? How much food will you take? Are there extra precautions about wildlife? What happens if you freeze in? It sounds like a dream adventure, but stay safe.
Hey guys, I watched several sailing videos of British Columbia, I always love it because nature is overwhelming and raw! I hope you do enjoy it and see the real beauty of it. Thanks!
Not sure that winter sailing is for me. I want to go the other way into warmth! However, the beauty is overpowering. And the Christmas Dinner table looked inviting. Your white boat looks stunning in that environment! Health to enjoy your fabulous adventure! ⛵️
Some scary pictures... But so beautiful. Thank you.
Wow spectacular! Thanks for sharing and fair winds. 😊
Very picturesque scenery
Hi from our anchorage on the other side of the continent at -16 C. We love your channel!
Familiar scenery at last.
A late Merry Christmas to you all and safe travels!!
Love the shots of the boat along the snow covered trees. Cheers!! ❤
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Wonderful cinematography! Funny: I think my parents have the exact same Christmas candle-chime thing. Great video, guys!
Absolutely stunning !!! Thanks so much for sharing !
Totally Amazing Scenes. Thank You so so Much for Sharing. It has been a dream of mine to sail up that way someday. The warm caribbean has nothing on that Majestic area you are sailing in now. WoW. Cheers Y'all Be Safe & Sail Onward !
Merry Christmas to you and your crew. Hope y'all had a great one.
So happy for you both. Stay well and safe
