I am afraid you cannot trust Google to treat you equitably. Remember the women Nasim Najafi Aghdam who had some change in status on her YT account regarding publishing of animal rights content and was extremely frustrated as she was a YT professional and lost the majority of income - so she went into an office cafeteria where Google employees work and used a gun on employees before ending her own life in the offices. Sorry to bring this up as it was extremely unfortunate. The change from Google this week is that the count meter on the "dislike" button has been modified to not show a number count. You might take the "Strong Interest Inventory" to assist you in career choices. Thanks for the excellent videos and I hope you enjoyed the cake on your birthday.

Both! Hi from Portugal! Keep doing both things. Videos are great and you can develop more and more... but as career? to be honest I don't believe, unless you create other projects around video and sailing. One question: What is the brand of that dry suit???

I probably would become financial analyst and having the video making as your hobby. It could become bit tedious and maybe put you off your adventures if you have the pressure of producing videos every week, unless you are really enjoying making theses videos. Although I love watching them as it is completely different to what my sailing is here in warm Perth WA. 😂👍

You need to do you, to be yourself, to follow your passion. I think you should honor your decision as a good one. Yes, it’s a big deal. But it came from the heart. And while you always seem to be wearing a big smile, somehow the joy on your face and in your voice was even bigger and happier when you decided to share your plans with the rest of us. I say go for it.

You bet. Have been in the arctic. That far north can be really pretty in winter. It's tough and your traveling has to be much more carefully thought though so you don't get into hull icing and such which can quickly be deadly. It's tough and a very small niche who will be interested. There is another couple (Sailing Uma) who have been in the northern country the past year or so. You might also look at the Antarctic in the future. Just the transition will be an adventure. Start talking to some of the cold weather gear companies for sponsorships etc. You're in a hostile environment to do some great testing.

Did an overnight winter sail (January) with a friend, many years ago aboard his 26 ft converted lifeboat turned centerboard motor sailor. Bridgeport Ct. to Cockenoe Island off Westport. Not that far but lots of close hauled tacks due to the typical late afternoon southwest wind direction. Bitter cold sailing but hunkered down with a couple of steaks & a cheap bottle of bourbon in a nicely heated cabin. Watching the headlights of cars zipping along the crystal clear pitch black shore provided our entertainment. Will never forget it. Life was good!

Terrific video. Absolutely amazing sound. (So much better than that canned junk everyone else seems to think belongs on sailing videos. You know, "Hey, the sails are full, let's play some generic sounding music no one would ever willingly listen to.") You really captured the cold. Gave me shivers. The 'grid' trace of bare deck from the bracing underneath is less insulated. (This happens with 2x4s structural lumber in a house. Wood has a very low R factor. I doubt aluminum has any R factor at all. So the heat transfers from the inside out. The only 'solution' would be to insulate the deck surface. Of course, not practical.) Something else happens, that you are probably already aware of. The snow and ice on your deck if left alone in freezing temperatures will nevertheless diminish and disappear. (Just like old ice cubes in your freezer that are tiny.) This is sublimation. The direct movement of ice to vapor without the water stage. And of course the opposite occurs, deposition which makes hoarfrost. (I'm probably talking to myself here. I moved to California, you guys seem to avoid going below 50° N)

BUT, we are ready to take on the real sailing life. We aren't sure about the KZread thing either because it seems very 'FICKLE'!, and we just want to enjoy our life, but yes, income, funding ourselves is a necessity for the majority of everyone's great sailing escapes! You will have to make your own path, as you know, but you are an inspiring young man-charming, witty, and expressive. Keep showing viewers what they haven't experienced and I think your unique niche, as you stated, could be quite lucrative. Happy belated birthday! I can not believe you actually brought out the kite surfing gear in that climate. Of course you needed a bigger kite, because the balls it takes to get into that water probably weigh a ton.

Sohvi is a real trooper. Not a lot of women would face the hardships .I think you love winters challenges. Playing in that icy water with a surfing thing and a kite ….no one else does that, do they ? Hide in the boat, someone will put a net over you. 😉. Thanks again. 🇺🇸

You got the kite surfing, I cant figure how people can get in the water when its so cold. I live on the North coast of the UK and we see surfers out in all weathers, I watch with the heating on full and hot drink. great video 2x👍

Another mooring option is to connect chains to the ends of your mooring lines, and then drop the chains over the dock bollards. Chains are definitely resistant to chafe!

Another way to deal with tying off when you will blow away from the dock/wharf is to use dedicated lengths of chain to tie directly to dockside cleats/bollards/bull rails. Attach your nylon dock lines with thimbled loops and galvanized schackles (wired for security.). You eliminate chafe to your lines.
