*4/21/18 UPDATE* After some careful consideration, I contacted Gauge Girl for a refund of the custom program, which I mentioned purchasing in this video. With my custom plan, they patently ignored my requests and specifications for my program, so I felt that a refund was a reasonable request. Initially, Gauge Girl refused to refund my payment, offering me a phone call or store credit, instead. Obviously, based on the staggering lack of professionalism I have experienced with this company in nearly every encounter, I have no interest in any further dealings with them, and a store credit would be as useless as the custom program itself. Eventually, the company relented, and issued my refund. I am posting this because, if any of you do decide to purchase a program from this company, "Buyer, beware," as they say. If you wind up receiving an unsatisfactory product -- like I did on 2 occasions -- you may have no recourse, due to their "NO REFUNDS" policy.

She did NOT complete the custom plan because it WASN'T customized and the responses that she received from customer service were decidedly unhelpful. *Redacts insulting comment on obvious stupidity and trolling* Perhaps you should watch her videos before showing your ignorance. *steps down off soap box*

First off, Christine commented on your Gauge Girl Review... and her response doesn't align with her reaction on Facebook. Because your video gained traction and provided both positive and negative remarks, which were all respectfully presented, she resorted to crying... within a Facebook group... during a Live Video? And went so far as to SHARE your video within the Facebook thread? Was her intention to share the video, thinking that it would HURT its circulation. THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS! In fact, I've got to hand it to Christine. She shared the video and increased traffic to your insightful video. Christine's approach is incredibly unprofessional. I like how tactful and direct you are in BOTH videos. I like your word choice, I like the confidence dripping in all of your videos. I'm glad you chose to follow up on this matter. I'm hopeful Christine reaches out to you and also publicly acknowledges how her attempt at damage control is possibly a POOR business decision. This could be a lesson for us all. As a long time Gauge Girl customer, I actually appreciated your review. In time, I hope people will see it for what it is. One person's opinion on a product they purchase and executed from start to finish. There was nothing in your review that hasn't come up in the FB group. I own 5 meal plans and 3 workout programs. Are the products flawless? NOPE. Are the programs valuable resources that I continue to use on my fitness journey? YES! I continued to support GGT because I believed in Gauge Girl's stance that there is no one size fits all method for achieving fitness goals. If anything, your review demonstrated that. That Paleo Shred just wasn't for you. You learned some things about yourself and kept it moving. I was pleased to see such a detailed response from Christine pinned under your video. THEN ....I went over to the FB group and learned that your video had also landed on the radar of the group. The responses left me feeling some type of way about my affiliation with the Gauge Girl community. Groupthink combined with misguided attempts to "defend" Christine are most likely at the root. Some responses were over the top and I can't stand behind any of that. I don't care if half the comments are confined to a private FB group. I'm taking a step back to reevaluate.

I appreciate rational, reasonable people -- particularly after all of these years working on KZread, and after these past few days of dealing with irrationality on my own channel. The herd mentality was/is definitely strong here, as well as the fact that many people feel threatened and marginalized by others' dissenting opinions. People tend to think that if you don't like what they like, then you don't like what they *are* like, and overreactions ensue. I had no issue with Christine when I posted my video, and I still feel that that was made clear in my video. However, I cannot abide the subterfuge that occurred here, and I felt compelled to make it known to my YT family. I've pinned your comment, because I think you said a lot of valuable things. I’m with Joey. I’m also in the FB group. I joined, happy to be part of a group that was uplifting and supportive to women of all types and at all levels of fitness. I believe all people are entitled to an opinion. I watched your review, and thought it was well done. You spoke in depth, communicated clearly, and weighed the pros and cons. I didn’t think you attacked anyone. I also think Christine has a right to feel the way she feels. It is her company, so I think she probably took it personally, right or wrong. I do think some in the FB group took a “Mean Girls” stance, and that’s not something I can be on board with. Thank you for your review, and you’ve got a new subscriber in me!

The Gauge Girl founder tried to cull sympathy and bullying from her online "community". Sorry this happened to you. I'm a fan of Cristina's KZread channel and will remain one, as I find her content thorough and informative. I also really appreciated your review of her programme and had only seen her well crafted reply under that video. Like other commenters, after hearing your review, I was not put off of the programme. I'm disappointed to hear about her response but imagine she will learn from this exchange. It was very considerate of you to take time out to give her another prescriptive review of her service. It wasn't a totally horrible review, I actually thought it was very helpful. Wow, I had to unsubscribe from her channel. You actually did nothing wrong at all. You gave nothing but an honest review. I’m glad you did it, I actually got one of the 6 week shreds (the winter one) and it had the same issues you mentioned. If I would have known prior I definitely wouldn’t have given her my coins (even though I got it on sale). It is DEFINITELY not worth 150 dollars at all. In addition, the other programs she has are fairly expensive. If someone pays an arm and a leg for any program they have the RIGHT to criticize it. I’m happy you aren’t taking down the review because it will help other people. You’ve earned a new subbie 🤗

Wow...I can't believe she gave such a nice professional comment on your video and then turned around a sicked her fans on you. Even after seeing the review and perhaps being a bit more skeptical of the program, I still liked Christine as a person and her general attitude and message about health and fitness. JessieBanana exactly! I had been a follower for a long time, and had recently purchased a shred. But after this, I've unfollowed everything Gauge Girl (and subbed this channel.) I can't stand passive aggression or two-faced, duplicitous behavior.

This video gave me LIFEEE! This by far is one of the classiest snap backs ever. I did watch your review initially (I have one of the shreds as well). So to receive candid, honest feedback 1. Was needed, as you mentioned there’s nothing available and 2. Made me feel better whenever I decide to start the shred, as I have some insight on what to expect. It’s unfortunate you got the response you did, but at the end of the day it’s only going to help the company, the customers, and hopefully Christine after she gets over her feelings. Thanks again! Yes, I've seen this game played before, where people with followings send their fans to attack someone else (either directly, or through passive aggression). Despite my issues with the program, I really liked Christine and even went on to support Gauge Girl with a second purchase. More than anything, I'm just disappointed with how this was handled.

I don't get how people are so personally invested in a company they don't any stake in. You gave a really fair review. I was considering getting the program but after your honest opinion about the food, I figured the meal plan wouldn't mesh with my "melanated" palette. And its a hard pass after seeing how unprofessional she acts under criticism. Thanks for being real

It's honestly so hard to find a fitness program where I know it's feasible for on the go lifestyles as well as effective. I really depend on honest reviews like yours to properly utilize the wealth of options on the internet. Keep doing you...she can keep her funky program.

I've watched a lot of gaugegirl videos lately and have truly appreciated being introduced to information on body types. The reveal of that kind of behavior behind the professional comment that was left is disappointing. The way the members of GaugeGirl’s Facebook community are behaving is exactly the reason I stay away from Facebook communities. Like I never see any reviews these Plans so I would never dish out 150$ for people giving all hearts. Girl, this video (and probably the gauge girl review too - idk I didn’t watch it because, 39 min 😳) is a perfect example of why I subscribed to you only after seeing one or two of your videos. Yes, your content is good, your hair is similar to mine and I liked your different approach to natural hair care.. HOWEVER! I have been subscribed to Gauge Girl Training for a long time because I was interested in what she had to say. I checked out her website and programs there but had not purchased anything because I was one of those people who could not find a review. So I was very happy when I saw your review video pop up because I've been following you for a very long time as well and I knew I was going to get the TRUTH about your experience. After watching your video I still had not decided to not purchase a program from Gauge Girl, but I was going to just take the information you presented in making a decision. BUT now...the way she has behaved, first leaving the response under your video, and then essentially flipping on her fb page, I will NEVER purchase from her because I feel that I cannot trust that I am getting honest and real information. Thank you for this video.

I was hopeful that the criticism would be recognized as constructive, but alas, it was not. Christine/Gauge Girl doesn't owe me anything ("Buyer, beware"), but I also didn't do anything wrong by voicing my gripes with the program -- particularly since literally all of my cons could be fixed easily, and would improve the program overall, if I do say so myself. Oh well!

Very disappointed on the way gauge girl approached this. Said one thing and came off another. Idk why she acted on emotion. She should’ve kept cool let a couple days pass by and then approach the situation. I feel like she knew what she was doing. She’s a smart girl. Why would she do that and “intentionally” bring her followers to “attack” you. Very disappointed. I really appreciate the way you reacted to this. Very polite and classy. You do your thing girl. Thank you, for both this and your review. I watched some of her videos and they really bothered me. I'm finishing up and degree in food science this year and the fact that she mentions that she's a food scientist at the beginning of her videos is pretty ridiculous. Food scientists do a lot of things. We run lab tests on food to determine its nutritional content, test food for contaminants, track the origin of microbiological food outbreaks, create systems for improving food safety, and design everything from chocolates bars, to protein bars, to organic chia pods among many other things. But WE ARE NOT DIETICIANS! Being a food scientist doesn't really qualify you to give nutritional advice. While we probably know a bit more about nutrition than most people because we understand food composition, we're not really the people to go to for that kind of advice, so her making it sound like being a food scientist is relevant when most people don't even know what a food scientist does feels really deceptive, especially since she spouts so much pseudoscience. One of the comments on your other video said something about this being why they don't trust food scientists which is a bit disheartening. We are not the bad guys, so please don't use this lady as an example of what we do. Anyway, I like your honesty and your review so I've subscribed. :)

This is total bullshit, I'm a gauge girl too and I totally agree with your past video. Not everything is perfect with the shreds, a lot of the meal items don't take good to me either I kind of had to tweak them too. I wish that people where able to see your video for What it was A PRODUCT REVIEW I have not once finished the whole shred nor the workout straight through. I was glad you made the video we need more honest reviews because I'm a student nurse i don't have money to waste on trying different shreds till i find the one that works. I had considered getting one of the meal plans and found your review informative and well constructed. I had thought Gauge Girl was a professional company run by a woman who had thicker skin than this. Needless to say I'm disappointed in her behavior and won't be paying for a program after this reaction to a mere review. Thank you :)

Is this how sensitive people are these days?? As a business owner, the LAST person that you want to slander is the customer. That was supremely out of line and inappropriate behavior for someone who is selling expensive products. She is a researcher and should be used to tweaking her products in order to achieve the best optimal results. If this is how she reacts to ONE customer with honest, fair criticism then I don't want to become a customer for her ever. Customers are not your personal sycophants. The world is not your safe bubble. They have every right to review your product with complete honesty. If you can't handle the most minuscule amount of criticism, then you are a NOT suitable to be a business owner.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that it was very strange that there wasn’t any reviews of this fitness program. so that tells me that there is something fishy going on. If I can find review of a product from the 1800s there is no way that I can’t find a review of a fitness program.

Hi! I follow Christine for a long time and she is very dedicated to her job. Maybe she was in a bad moment when she found your review. Personally, I think your review was honest and very constructive. She should take your review and drill down her program. It will make it even better. I just purchased the 6 weeks today due to your review and i will use it in a more efficient way due to your recommendations. The ladies that came after you should grow up and calm down. Anyone with that sort of attitude has bigger issues to focus on. Please stay true to your way of being. Nothing can ever be 100% perfect. It's perfectly normal that something that is not 100% customized to your body to have also Cons. I cannot believe that all her clients were 100% satisfied all the time. That simply cannot be true nor constructive. Christine should encourage this type of reviews because it will only make her business and products better. How come my nosy, insomniac, knuckle-head ass rewatched the review vid and read ALL of the comments?! (insert meme of split screen "i don't like drama" and then someone peeping through blinds with gold-plated binoculars. I'd blame it on being a bored night owl...but that'd be a lie in this case). Annddd I literally laughed out loud when you said she cried. The ridiculousness of it is really something else. Now, I'm an artist in some ways and understand being sensitive about one's craft, but feelings one's feelings ("wow, that honest review was hard to hear despite nothing objectively being wrong about it. I need to feel my emotions right now and cry a bit to myself") and sending one's rabid, hangry fans after a reviewer on some passive aggressive BS are two very different things. We see you Christine. Either be professional or be messy because the two-face routine is childish and we're not stupid. I'll definitely take that bet! Let the deluge of group-think, performative support masquerading as product review commence! (I'm not gonna completely hate on supporting a content creator but when paired with the unreasonable backlash against an honest review, just leaves a bad taste in the mouth)

Your original review is what had me subscribe to your channel. It is refreshing to hear an honest review with realistic concerns regarding a program. Constructive criticism is extremely important and a company should 100% be able to take them into consideration. I like your videos and don't let a bunch of bullshit stop you from being honest.

I typically don't write comments on youtube but feel the need to do so this time. I was very happy with your original review as it was very detailed and informative. I too have purchased two different programs from them via groupon. I had reached out to them to seek clarification on a few things and the response I received was pretty crappy and unprofessional. I wish I had seen reviews like yours before investing my hard earned money. Sadly, I couldn't return or cancel my order.Thank you for your honest and unbiased review.

It is sad when people only hear the negative and don't see that you were just being honest and you were very clear in your review. I follow gaugegirl and very disappointed at the behavior thought she was way more classy than that. Wow!!!!

Thanks for both of the videos and yet here I thought I was gonna go check it out because like you said there wasn't any reviews. I hate that people don't watch/read everything (a problem with booktube as well, *epic eye roll* ) especially if a someone took the form and manipulate it instead of watching/reading in its entirety before they attack. Besides I come off candid as well coming from Brooklyn moving to a state like Delaware. And it's like damn, does no one have *discernment* anymore.

Personally, I appreciated the honesty and thoroughness of your review. I agree that companies should not be afraid of bad reviews but take it as feedback, critically look at the product they offer, think about what was said and consider implementing changes so that their company can function better and possibly be successful. While Christine’s first response in coming to your video and leaving a comment shows maturity, crying on a Facebook group and essentially telling her followers to “go get ‘em y’all” is the act of someone very unprofessional. While I can understand being upset about a bad review, particularly something you care about, I do not understand the level of drama or the personal attack simply because someone disagrees with you. This whole situation is very insightful to Christine’s character and It truly gives me pause in taking what she has to say seriously.

Yes, I feel that she may have felt upset and/or taken it personally that I had issues with her program. But, I won't abide dishonesty/duplicity, and had to share what was happening on my review video vs. what was happening "behind my back" with complete transparency.

People are just so sensitive. If you are going to be a business owner and put your product out there, you definitely gotta have tough skin. And as the consumer you had every right to post your own opinion of the product. The good thing about your review is that it wasn't even all negative. I thought your review was respectful. Period. I'm glad you didn't fold and take back anything you said.

I usually never post but I had been waiting for your review for months. I enjoyed it because I was going to purchase it for my mom and was never going to purchase it without a review. Much like when I shop Amazon, it goes in my cart and I head straight over the the reviews. Then I decide if I'm going to buy or not. My mom doesn't have Facebook and is not to technically savvy. I have to take that into consideration. Your review helped me. You also mentioned you get a pdf and I thought, hum, $150 plus tax for a pdf. Still, considering to buy it. After this nope. If she's not going to take into consideration not everyone wants to be on every single social media platform then I can't be bothered. I'll look elsewhere. Thanks for helping me finally reach a decision.

Just want to express firstly how much I admire how articulate you are. It's a quality I value, personally. Secondly, I'm sorry that we live in a world where we can't share rational, reasonable, well thought out opinions. Looking at this from a lens of a business owner, I could see how the review would have been hard to watch. When you create a product or service, of course you want everyone to love it! That product is your baby. Christine has been under a lot of stress lately and has mentioned in several videos how she over extended herself with client calls, and trying to do everything. This review just came at a particularly stressful time in her life, and I could completely see why she was sad. When you have a type A personality and work hard on something, you want to get it right the first time. You were her first youtube review and ideally she'd love to see you being ecstatic with the program and results. I really don't think she was trying to come for you by posting the video, but it was a mistake that she likely regrets. Her YT comment was her cooperate response, and her fb video was her raw feelings. With that being said, I do think there are valuable points that your video makes, specifically the measurements rather than cups. These changes could be really helpful for her product too. I think that she will likely incorporate some of these changes, so it was good you mentioned them as a customer. I'm sorry you are getting hate and disparaging comments from your video. You are beautiful, keep being your honest self.

Personally I agree with Tim Ferriss and believe we never fully grow out of our childhood self. We are the same person fighting, laughing, playing, and crying on the playground as we are today.
