We Need Repentance

In our Scripture reading for the Mass of the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, the unifying theme is the subject of repentance and the call to conversion. Fr Bill Casey, CPM, preaches on Our Lord’s first message to the world as He begins His public ministry, the need for repentance and faith in the Gospel. The absolute necessity of repentance for salvation. Repentance is the gateway and open channel to the Divine Mercy, the most beautiful and powerful experience of which is the Sacrament of Penance.

The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The General ate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The congregation also staffs rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.

Thank you. I was just lamenting this morning that what we need are masses for sinners. Today's churches (including Catholics) are filled with "saved" people. A friend of mine who was spiritually adrift went to a local evangelical church. She came away with nothing. All she said were they were playing tamborines and there was a big screen projecting something. I wished I could direct her to a local Catholic church but I have not found one that would be any different. The "Catholic" church in that town has relegated the tabernacle to an alcove on the side of the church. It reminds me of a family that relegated a crazy aunt to the attic. I walked out when they had a 4 piece brass band starting the mass. My only solace are sermons like this that I can find on line and my devotional hour praying the rosary in the morning. Lord have mercy on us and send us good priests like this one.

Look for a Traditional Latin Mass. Be willing to drive hours to get there. God will multiply graces to those who sacrifice to worship Him in the rite which made real Saints.

There are some priests who still preach repentance, the gospel, and are there to save souls thru Christ. But you can’t find them at most parishes. I drive 40 minutes to a parish who has a priest who travels from further than I do to say one Mass a Sunday there and he is a barn-burner. He makes no bones about what he’s there for: to help us get to Heaven! He talks about the gospel but also about saints, mystics, devotions (Church approved), is unapologetic about how the path is narrow that leads to salvation. At that parish, almost all the people are very reverent, kneel to receive Christ and stay a few minutes after Mass in prayer. It’s not even a TLM so you’ve just gotta try to find one. They’re out there.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will to men. We praise Thee, we bless Thee, we worship Thee, we glorify Thee, we give thanks to Thee for Thy great glory: O Lord, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty; O Lord, the Only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Thou that takest away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. Thou that sittest on the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For Thou alone art holy, Thou alone art Lord, Jesus Christ, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Every day will I bless Thee, and praise Thy name forever and ever. Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day without sin. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, God of our fathers, and praised and glorified is Thy Name forever. Amen. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me Thy statutes. Blessed art Thou, O Master, teach my Thy commandments. Blessed art Thou, O Holy One, enlighten me with Thy precepts. O Lord, Thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation. I said: Lord, have mercy on me! Heal my soul, for I have sinned against Thee! O Lord, I flee unto Thee! Teach me to do Thy will, for Thou art my God. For with Thee is the fountain of life, and in Thy light shall we see light. Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. Amen

Thank You Father! So True; as The Father Always tried to have his children Understand and Gave So Much and So MANY Chances! A God of Justice Us A GOD of TRUE LOVE! For In The TRUTH; TOUGH LOVE IS GIVEN IN A GREATER LOVE! That Wants That Soul In Him FOREVER! We See IN The Old Testament; how Long God had ENDURED THEIR CONSTANT DISRESPECT FOR HIS LAW'S! Their Constant love for Sin! He Showed His Love Over and Over AGAIN! He did So MANY Great Things For Them! He Parted The Red Sea! He gave them manna from Heaven! The food of The Angels! He GAVE them Water! By Moses Splitting The Rock! Ect. He sent So Many Prophets! My Dad always taught and I always heard him say; GOD NEVER CHANGES! HE IS THE Same Yesterday Today And TOMORROW! HE MAKES NO MISTAKES! His Heart was so troubled with Vatican two and So MANY Changes In The MASS and The Tradition's of OUR Faith! I had been a LIVING Whitness to all of The Real Changes! And in High School; My Religion Teacher; ( A Sister) was rocking my faith! Everything my Dad had always taught me from as young as I can remember! Age 3 as He would read to my brothers and I; The Bible! The Marian Bible of my age Actually! 1958! He would read it to us; and also tell in his words the Real Stories of The Old Testament! Which We Found As Amazing as IT TRULY WAS! There is Not any made up stories; as they make up now in the Movies! That Can Actually Compeet With The Actual Amazing Events; That The Father had done! And So it Did Announce The Truth of The Eventual Heaven Coming to Earth; For Our Salvation! JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOR! God in The Flesh! To Show US The WAY Out of The FLESH PRISON WE WERE PUT IN BY THE ORIGINAL SIN of The First Parents! This IS THE REASON FOR OUR LIVES NOW! To Follow The Way of Our Beautiful SAVIOR! How; Oh HOW Can We ALL; NOT WANT TO FOLLOW THE WAY HE SHOWED US! It is Not The Rich and wealthiest men we want to follow on the wide road to destruction of our everlasting life! That was Satan's Prideful plan of jealous hatred of us; his children! Infiltration of The Church by those who Purposefully had done so! Have also done so; out of jealousy and True hatred for GOD! By following lucifer they have such hatred for our Lord; it is so hard to Comprehend! I read about it! Written by a priest who was converted by God; as he had also entered the seminary right along with the Other Satanist for this breakdown of THE TRUE CHURCH! I couldn't complete the entire book! That is how well he; the convert; describes the exact hatred and such EVIL INTENTIONS of these men! Do Not read it; Unless You have The HOLY Spirit Guiding You through it! I had to sleep with the lights on for about 7 months after reading it! I a grown Woman with 4 Children at the time! But i must say; there are Many People living in the secular world! Who are filled with the very same hatred for Good People who are trying their best to Live The Life for The Salvation of Their children's souls as well as their own! So many wolves in sheep's clothing! NOT JUST IN THE CHURCHES! But Right in People's extended Families! Pray Pray Pray for All God's PRIESTS as well as The Souls of The WHOLE WORLD! I truly believe as ARCH BISHOP VIGANO has Said: We are living Through The CRUSIFICTION of The CHURCH! I had said this on Facebook back in 2011! And Arch Bishop VIGANO Stated This recently! And My Heart Was Lifted on my journey with The HOLY SPIRIT! We all MUST Truly TRUST IN THE TRINITY and MOTHER! THEY ARE IN TOTAL CONTROL and THEIR PRECISENESS IS ASTOUNDING! As I myself, a tiny most humble Mother of 4! Have and always will be So GREATFULL To My Beautiful TRINITY and MOTHER for All of Their Wonderful Help to this poor Mother! Jesus, I Trust In YOU! Amen!

Sou aqui do Brasil e a 3 anos voltei para a casa do Pai, como na parábola do filho pródigo. Depois desse retorno, busco fazer confissões frequentes. Graças a Deus. Salve Maria.

Before a sinner, which of course we all are, can repent, he or she has to have faith in something. That something is the finished work of Christ on the cross where He put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, to the full satisfaction of God the Father. When we believe or have faith in God's word regarding that sacrifice, the sinner can then turn to God from his sin in repentance. Repentance is turning to God. When we believe God gives us the power by the Holy Spirit to fix our spiritual eyes on Christ, walk in the Spirit and hence then not fulfill the lust of the flesh. As long as you are in this body of flesh you will always have the tendency to sin. That is why our salvation is ''in Christ Jesus''. It is Christ that God has found His total satisfaction and joy in. Christ is all that we need. Trust in Him alone. His Grace is sufficient for you. Grace is the unmerited favour of God bestowed on believing sinners.

Paul said 2Tim 3:16-17 AMP "All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately-behaving honorably with personal integrity & moral courage]; so that the man of God may be 'complete' & proficient, outfitted & thoroughly equipped for every good work" (>no mention of the rcc adding in their separate teachings, traditions). God’s perfect power - Who IS the Holy Spirit, is represented in the Bible as He that teaches Christ's Church/Believers who follow the teachings of Christ

Afraid not. The thief on the cross said: Lord remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. He didn't realize it but he was fulfilling Romans ch. 10 v 9-10. 'That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart a man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The thief confessed Christ as Lord, and believed that Christ was going to be resurrected from the dead, so as to come into His kingdom. Repentance is turning to God. It is a deliberate act of will and mind. It comes after faith has believed the message of the gospel.

Jesus to Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta on April 7th, 1919: Luisa: Afterwards, He transported me into the midst of creatures. But who can say what they were doing? I will only say that my Jesus, with sorrowful tone, added: What disorder in the world. But this disorder is because of the leaders, both civilian and ecclesiastical. Their self-interested and corrupted lives did not have the strength to correct their subjects, therefore they closed their eyes over the evils of the members, since they already showed their own evils; and if they did correct them, it was all in a superficial way, because, not having the life of that good within themselves, how could they infuse it in others? And how many times these perverted leaders have placed the evil before the good, to the point that the few good have remained shaken by this acting of the leaders. Therefore, I will have the leaders struck in a special way. [cf. Zech 13:7, Matt 26:31: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’] Luisa: Jesus, spare the leaders of the Church - they are already few. If You strike them, the rulers will be lacking. Don’t you remember that I founded my Church with twelve Apostles? In the same way, those few who will remain will be enough to reform the world. -from Book of Heaven, diaries; Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, Volume 12, April 7, 1919

@10:10 > The same question can be put to lawyers, judges, and (essentially) everyone working in the Justice dept. Ask one of these Solons the simple question : -What is Justice? You are likely to get only a dismissive and cynical answer, delivered patronizingly. No one who now works in- or with- Law ever even considers the *reality* of Justice (which is the end of Law) -instead, they have filled their heads with fine-spun abstractions (🕸️) who's only object is *Winning* (🕷️). In our times, If you try to discuss Justice, you will only end up surveying Strategy.
