The Salvific Aspect of Suffering...

Hello, Fathers of Mercy friends. Fr. Wade Menezes, CPM preached a Homily on the Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time (Year B of the Sunday Cycle of Readings) on "The Salvific (or Redemptive) Aspect of Human Suffering." Fr. Wade provides the Church's teaching on how human suffering is resultant of the Original Sin and it's effects still present in our world reality. But the great news is that human suffering can be offered back to Almighty God when accepted in union with His Divine Son's own suffering for us. Don't let your suffering be a nihilistic end, but rather a springboard to Heaven that awaits us!

Thank you Fr Wade for your convicted teachings. My grandfather didn't get his last rights when he passed away. My mom asked my uncle to get the local priest to do it, but he never did. But the Lord is so God. We were able to travel to give him a beautiful Funeral Mass. Thank you, Lord.🙏🏽🕯️🙏🏼✝️❤️☘️

Thank you so much Fr. for this great homily, I've had a health condition since my teens, lots of 'new starts' is wearing but this homily is encouraging. I'm in tears listening to this...thank you from Ireland. Catholicism is definitely the true way, I was born into a Catholic family but lost my way as a teenager but returned a couple of years ago and I have to say it's the best decision I've ever made.

Wish all priests would preach about this more! Many Canadian bishops need to tell priests to speak deep Catholicism. We just dont hear this for our souls! We have more fun stuff and community stuff instead, which should be held for times outside the mass! --We want to know about our faith, so we can teach it to our families and to others! Thank you Father Wade+ God Bless.

We humans unfortunately are going to go through suffering. Depends on how big the suffering is. As for me, I’ve been tested positive for Covid-19 last night and the symptoms are nasal congestion, coughing and sneezing. But thankfully tomorrow I’m going to speak to one of my doctors for medical help and treatment. And why do we humans suffer? Well it’s because of original sin by Adam and Eve. In October last year, I was tested positive for Covid-19 and sometimes I was emotionally upset 😭 and started crying. But what brought comfort and consolation was the Divine Mercy devotion. Novena and chaplet. And stations of the cross. And now that I’ve been tested positive for Covid-19 again, I sincerely hope and pray that I make another full recovery and to be more cautious and alert. And Fr. Wade Menezes has become one of my favorite inspirational role models in Catholic Christianity.

Suffering is inevitable in life, however we can decide how we suffer: either in vain or we can profit from it. We can focus on self and suffer in vain or we can unite our sufferings to the Cross of Calvary and obtain forgiveness and grace immeasurable. And then even the Devil's attacks become a source of grace. Imagine how frustrating that must be for him.

According to our apostle paul’s ministry in The King James Bible,we are only saved by believing The Gospel of Jesus Christ,1st Corinthians Chapter 15 verse 1-4.Jesus Christ died on the cross, shed His Blood for all of our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day.Jesus Christ Shed Blood is what saves you when you believe this plan of salvation with your heart.

Stephen Michaels.. The plan of salvation you are proposing is NOT what Jesus revealed to the Apostles, that’s the plan Martin Luther proposed! The treasure of been Christians Catholic is to be have Our Priest ( successors of the Apostles) (you can historically track them down ) teach and guides us to heaven, is up to every person personal response!

@@brendatalamantes2978 ,2 Timothy 2:15 ,scripture tells us to Rightly Divide the word if truth, Matthew 15:24, Jesus Christ Himself said that He only came to save the lost sheep of the house of Israel, meaning that His earthly ministry of salvation was only to Israel in that dispensation. If your going to quote verses pertaining to salvation make sure that you rightly divide and stay in verses pertaining to the church age today.

@ Stephen Michaels Peace in the name of Christ Jesus! Please... if you are a brother of christ, focus not on division between those who know the Lord already... You came to a Catholic homily after all, and offer a reformed position, and condem the Catholic one... This is not the way to win souls to Christ, OR have them move denominations... Be open to the Lord's Spirit in you... We respect and appreciate your zeal. But do not be misplaced and misguided in how you approach this topic with tact and care, because such a conversation nerds to be treated delicately... Such an approach will always turn off others to the Lord's movement and not towards Him... Citing scripture to a Catholic, and citing reformed positions, which originated 1500 years after much doctrine and scripture was already put together by the Catholics, will never yield movement to Christ, because you insult (in the eyes of Catholics) 1500 years of Christian Church history... I pray these words will be heard, and that you take them to Prayer with the Lord, specifically in how you dialogue with Catholics/Orthodox and other Protestant denominations... May the peace of the Lord be with you always 🙏✝️🙏

@@stephenmichaels6682 does scripture say that today we are not to suffer because Christ suffered? Or it encourages us to keep the faith amidst the suffering in the world, without blaspheming God, so that in the end we come out as victorious as our Lord by his grace which enables us to endure!
