*Oh and here's a third discovery:* Marvin's Blood is bugged and gives more mutation rate than the description suggests. It gives a +25% on fresh infections (intended) but a +75% on repeated hits (which seems unintentional), making it stronger than it should be. This was discovered and tested by two different viewers of mine (and probably others) and has been acknowledged, so it might be getting fixed soon.

Zombies go after loud noise notifications. Not all screams trigger notifications, but the ones that do will attract zombies. It's like you're always 1 second behind regardless of your connection quality. Of course, it only gets worse against ranged attacked killers. For this reason i dislike playing against them, even Huntress despite her being lauded as a completely fair and balanced killer. I just don't think it's fun to have to rely on the server blessing me for it to be actually possible to dodge her hatchets. @@kingol4801 how is it exploiting? Understanding the way the game works and using that knowledge in your personal benefit is anything but exploiting. An exploit is a flaw in a game's rules that allows players to win in a way which was not intended. Nemesis' power was literally designed like this, crouching at the right time or using the environment and quirks on how your power works to dodge a hit/hit a survivor is literally what the vast majority of gameplay is. Injured survivors lean forward, so killers aim slightly behind survivors, thats not an exploit. As for making it more consistent, there are some problems with that. The reason why survivors lean forward is gameplay reasons, if you center the hitbox of the survivor to the center point of the survivor animation, the survivor will have less vision and controls will feel wonky. You could adjust the camera angle while injured, but that creates more oppertunities for bugs to exist, or slant the hitbox, which makes survivors shorter while injured while also giving them the ability to vault earlier, both negative things for killers, but also can screw up what the game considers as a fast vault and survivors would be twice as easy to hit. These are a lot of considerations you have to take in mind before deciding to make the visuals "more obvious and consistent" with the actual game mechanics.

@@Predated2 It's exploiting 'cause that's not how it's supposed to work. It's like saying the hug tech used by Blight isn't an exploit. Yes, and that is a flaw. Nemesis isn't supposed to hit under stuff his entire power is to hit over. As for the survivor hitbox that's not an exploit, just poor design by BHVR. It shouldn't be this hard to make it so the game doesn't break by having accurate hitboxes. Also it's not that survivors lean forward, but rather the hitbox greatly extends behind their model that's the issue

Interesting add on idea for Nemesis, kind of similar to how Demogorgon works. If you have your tentacle up, zombies immediately start walking towards the nearest survivor. If they do not have natural line of sight after you drop your tentacle tho, they will stop. Could help with chase and as info/passive slowdown. Maybe purple or iri

That explains so much. - I love playing nemmy and I always got the impression there's something going on that isn't explained by what you already said about how the whip works --- tho I figured it was something ping or package loss related. This makes so much more sense tho. ----- As for the starting a match by going for infections and the occasional free hit.... I thought that was common sense? Ofc you have to be confident in your whip-hitting; have to know what you can hit both distance and height wise and mustn't be tempted to "just M1" --- waiting a second to make sure the whip hits is almost always worth it.

I discovered this "kitkat tentacle' on Yamaoka some times ago, go to one of the limit of the map and hit the wall. For me, i could clearly see some dust where the hit landed. So by doing a drag, i could see the hitbox going down in front of me. You can kind of see it at 0.59s, the cloud of dust on the pallet is the hit, and after that it goes down. Also theses cars are weird, some of them have hitbix a'd you just cannot hit a survivor or even a pallet if you are not in front of him, but other cars are just void, you can hit from every angles. I have trouble seeing the difference in matches between a "you are dead late" car and a "i am doomed" car. As always, great video Otz

As far as add ons, the one that increase zombies detection range and a speed add on or 2 speed add ons. Literally blocks off survivors mid chase because of spies alerting the zombies. Makes it easier to corral the survivor where you want them to go.

Hey Otz, great video, one observation though, your volume levels on this (and other) video are very low (at least for me), I have to go from 24 to 50 on the windows volume bar.

It seems like nemmy's whip is hitbox active for nearly a full second. I think you might legit be able to just spin your mouse and nearly always hit with the lower hitboxes in the second half for a relatively very large and unavoidable hurt zone. I just don't know if too fast and you can frame-skip over them, but probably not.

ah, i've also been running the "infect all first" setup on nemesis for months. just til i hit tier 2 for breaking, then I'll hook, and using zombie speed/detect yellow, and lightborn/deadlock/Corrupt/ and discordance (to lure zambies)

big difference in my playstyle is i do not hesitate to pick up when I down someone (lightborn means I don't have to), I immediately hook them so they can't crawl off somewhere or get picked back up and waste my entire chase. I also harass the hell out of gens as much as I can, ditching chases to run people off those things and get some more hits in. Ideally lure my zombies to worked on gens by forcing pallet drops and panic failure checks nearby and such so they can guard the kicked gen.

I do the exact same thing with my Nemesis! I've had multiple people question why I seem to drop chase so much or so often in the early game, and I've always said; thats 2 minutes. First, I'm maximizing CI value by corralling survivors into less options to avoid me and/or zombies. Secondly, it practically ensures a guaranteed T2, and depending on the first 2 minutes, even a potential early T3. I'm so happy to see another Nemmy doing this. (My pride n joy still remains running into 'SmoithSmith' of CoconutRTS video fame and having him tell me that my Nemesis was "terrifying"!)

Really appreciate Otz and the Nemmy main who did the research for this. Nemmy is the only killer I have at an MMR that's close to my skill after taking almost a full year break from DBD, so he's all I play now. This will help me significantly, though I'm still handicapped playing on ps4, and his hit detection with his tentacle and lower fps makes even easy hits harder

Sad thing is PS5's not much better. It's just a visual upgrade. If the game would be a little more godd*mn generous with the attack hitboxes, instead of you having to aim them like it's an fps, I'd enjoy the game a lot more. And pretty much every game of this genre is like this. Friday, Predator, Texas Chainsaw. It's, in part, the cost of having survivors move so fast.

Its interesting to know that there is more weirdness to how his tentacles work, going up from down. Dont know why I thought of it attacking the furthest survivor first and not from up to down

There were a few moments where if you used the eyeball with ribbon you would of gotten them. You should try full speed on the zombies when you use discordance or any perks that bring zombies to gens. Just avoid 2 zombie attracting perks I find that eruption messes up things a lot when using discordance because they end up stopping midway to go to another gen.

I like to believe that the Nea at 14:16 got hit by the tentacle due to her performing ONE short teabag after the vault. It looked like a tiny one, and am still unsure if it actually was one, but I think it got her killed...

I think if they made Oppression have a 60 second cooldown I would be cool with it. The problem with the perk is unless a Survivor misses a skill check you don't actually know how much value you are getting from it most of the time. I love it though on killers who can't easily cross larger maps.

I've been loving Admin Wristband + Mikhail's Eye over Marvin's Blood for a while now. Pairing it with perks: Ruin, Undying, Thrill and Sloppy makes the zombies as useful as they can be. Survivors can't do gens/totems or heal because of the zombies.

Looking at the Event stuff, i kinda wanna see a future Survivor Perk that allows you to make a temporary Pallette, just like the Event Pallete its perpetually standing up and disintegrates when thrown down but can stun the Killer if thrown on them.

I have two questions about the kit-kats. first if you're looking upwards at an angle do they follow your vision and project upwards or do they still come straight out of your body? Second if you start the tentacle swing while falling, do the kit-kats spawn sequentially from where the swing began, or do they come out of you while you are falling, spreading them apart a bit?

Commenting before I forget as I haven’t finished the video. If a survivor is on the other side of a pallet or vaulting one, look up while swinging to hit them instead of the pallet. Look down to hit the pallet of you’d rather break it

So it seems the best analogy is that it's a laser beam smoothly falling vertically over the hitbox duration. It gets clipped but can reactivate if you give a new gap. Think of those generic laser beam puzzles like in games like Portal 2.
