    I am nature. Would you rather see mange, scabies, rabies, hydatids disease? Or someone like me who protects the food we raise so that you're able wake up and type BS from behind a screen. This is the most ethical, precise, accurate, humane way to do it. Period.

    Coyotes are getting over populated in many areas . I counted 22 in late afternoon in January on our farm in a picked bean field and there were probably more in the wood line that I didn't see but that was an awesome yet kind of scary site to see . Many times they would follow me out of the woods after deer hunting and I would bet my life that I am not the only one that has happened to .

    In your opinions, not taking into account other problems, could a coyote pack do anything to diminish the terrible, invasive wild boar problems down south? Same question, but with Wolves? Thoughts appreciated.

  • @tkarlmann

    @tkarlmann

    3 ай бұрын

    @@Johnny_Breakbarrel Yes, I did think about that that; but I still wonder about whether wolves can take out those pigs, as some of them are sooo large. Also, we can agree wolves are the top predators (excluding of course large mountain lions); but since the wild hogs an invasive species, I still wonder about the hypothetical matchup. Also, do coyotes do anything to these wild pigs?

  • @tkarlmann

    @tkarlmann

    3 ай бұрын

    @@Johnny_Breakbarrel Thanks for that; I was concerned that coyotes might be afraid of the wild hogs -- as the hogs are not native. OTOH: I just watched a video, supposedly a documentary, where the wolves we _DO_ have, were, as a group, chasing after a jackrabbit! The Commentator was saying that if the wolf takes one simple misstep, he could lose the rabbit! Really? Our wolves could use bigger 'challenges'! Here's a weird idea: We have LOTS of trapped hogs. Why not take a live one up north to feed the wolves?

    BS! I killed 60 coyotes a year when there was a $2 bounty on them, enough to pay my property taxes. I used a Winchester model 61 in 22 mag and a $2 Weems predator call. In none of these videos have I seen a coyote causing damage. I was in the cow/calf business for over 50 years and only had two incidents with coyotes. One was a coydog that killed a newborn calf whose mother had abandoned it. The other was a tail bite on a 200 lb calf. One very cold winter, I left the barn open and was surprised to find a female coyote with very bad mange snuggled right up between two cows that were lying close together. She belonged. Let dog in there and there would be quite a commotion. Didn’t belong. Coyotes keep a balance in nature by controlling the rodent population. Never had a coyote chew $1,500 worth of wiring harness on an expensive piece of farm machinery.

    In my position we do this to help keep numbers down, and also help other Ranchers before or during the Calving season, we just film the hunts. They have an unlimited quota based on how well they can reproduce and adapt to any environment. We are Ranchers and we hunt them to protect the food that we raise for the world as well as to protect the food we hunt and eat. I also hunt them and sell what they have to offer, their fur. Unfortunately in this day and age people don't realize they are one of natures greatest gifts and most abundant natural resources. We used to use them for clothing, most people here complaining, are wearing a synthetic made in a Chinese sweat shop article of clothing that does much more harm to the world and it's people than what we are doing here.

    I have a question maybe you can answer or someone in the comments can. In the last year and this year on my property I have killed over 50 coyotes. Out of those 50 or so 5 have been males. The rest have all been females including the one I just shot this morning. Have you ever heard of that many females? The first pack I killed living near my house had 13 females and 1 male. I've asked around and no one seems to know what is going on

    That's why you killed so many. Their society is designed to have a high proportion of breeding females.

    I believe Coyotes respond to their numbers being diminished and will produce more offspring as a result. I wonder if more females is part of that theory

    @@JohnsonArmsProps could be,but that was the initial group as well and my whole area was over run with coyotes according to the ODNR. I'm starting to kill more males but lately it's been 4 to 1 ratio

    I think an important perspective in this area of people V's Animal is - Does A Corn Plant Notice the change in Humans during it's 12 week Life? - Answer: Not so's you'd notice - so Question: Does a Dog Pack notice the change in Humans behavior during it's very short life? Answer: About the same as a Corn Seed - So at what range can you shoot a Corn Seed - No wait! this is a question for the Humans - *at what range can you hit a Corn Seed on the first shot* ? Given a Corn Seed doesn't run around too much

If one can’t learn from you then they are never going to figure out how to hunt anything. Keep on doing what your doing! I always say - The only good Coyote is a dead Coyote!
