Why do we hunt coyotes?
Coyotes are presently the most abundant livestock predators in western North America, causing the majority of sheep, goat, and cattle losses. For example, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, coyotes were responsible for 60.5% of the 224,000 sheep deaths attributed to predation in 2004.The total number of sheep deaths in 2004 comprised 2.22% of the total sheep and lamb population in the United States, which, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service USDA report, totaled 4.66 million and 7.80 million heads respectively as of July 1, 2005. Because coyote populations are typically many times greater and more widely distributed than those of wolves, coyotes cause more overall predation losses. The United States government agents routinely shoot, poison, trap, and kill about 90,000 coyotes each year to protect livestock.
Coyotes typically bite the throat just behind the jaw and below the ear when attacking adult sheep or goats, with death commonly resulting from suffocation. Blood loss is usually a secondary cause of death. Calves and heavily fleeced sheep are killed by attacking the flanks or hindquarters, causing shock and blood loss. When attacking smaller prey, such as young lambs, the kill is made by biting the skull and spinal regions, causing massive tissue and bone damage. Small or young prey may be completely carried off, leaving only blood as evidence of a kill.
In the absence of the harassment of coyotes practiced by rural people, urban coyotes are losing their fear of humans, which is further worsened by people intentionally or unintentionally feeding coyotes. In such situations, some coyotes have begun to act aggressively toward humans, chasing joggers and bicyclists, confronting people walking their dogs, and stalking small children. Non-rabid coyotes in these areas sometimes target small children, mostly under the age of 10, though some adults have been bitten.

I read a book one time back in the early to mid eighties I’m guessing, anyway the title was Calling Coyotes and other Predators by Rick Jameson. If I recall correctly, I know it’s only been nearly 40 years and I only read it once, a coyote could hear a noise from a range of one mile and have the noise pinpoint to within three feet. At 100 yards I think it said the coyote had it narrowed down to 6 inches! Now I might be off by a little on those distances but I’m pretty sure it’s very close!

Many years ago when I lived in Canada I had a house in a rural area which backed on to a farm. The farmhouse was about 500 m away. The farmer raised cattle. In the same field he had a donkey and a mule. They were quite effective against coyotes. Even so, I often heard coyotes coming out of the forest near my home. I would phone the farmer, even in the middle of the night, to tell him there were coyotes on the prowl. Shortly after there would be bang-bang from the farm.

Technically not nightvision. It's thermal vision, so things that emit thermal radiation (like a person's body releasing heat) will show up brightly on screen while things that don't emit thermal radiation appear darkened. Which is why the cows and coyotes stick out as a bright white color compared to the field, shrubs, fencing etc around them. You can also use these during the day time whereas nightvision is completely unusable during the day as it over-brightens everything to the point where you're just looking at a bright blurry screen

U r the fool here those are these animal's natural habitat we humans encroach their lands and they r animals so would definitely kill anyone without second thought that their nature while we r humans and do have some f**king brains and heart don't we so f**king use them and find out a solution where our cattle won't be distributed by the predators and not use thermals and weapons to go on a unnecessary killing spree while using high tech weapons to show skill like cowards and fools if u have such skill then u can go to Ukraine or something Anyways when in america due to stupid gun culture so many kids and adults are being killed this absolutely doesn't surprise anyone

I'm kinda surprised Google allows this, given how sensitive they are, but I'm also glad. This is very interesting, and as several have remarked, the precise timing of the double takedowns is quite impressive. Also, I appreciate you having the patience to ensure a nice clean takedown, eliminating, or at the very least minimizing any pain they feel before they pass. After all, we know the only reason they're there is trying their best to survive in the wild.
