We Have Light!- My House Build Pt13
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
We did a lot since last video so here is some of the work we have done. Plumber did almost complete water installation, unfortunately i had other project at the same time so I couldn't film his work in detail but did managed to capture some of it to give you an idea of how it is done. I also managed to pull all the electrical cables throughout the house so the walls are now more or less ready for wall plaster. We also managed to finish the insulation and first layer of siding on the tool shack but I thought it would be too much for one video so it will come in the next episode together with wooden siding on the entire house.
Thank you for watching! If you liked this video, don't forget to press that thumb up icon and subscribe for more! :D

It's so interesting to see the differences how houses are build between Europe and Northern America. Here we see stability for decades! Amazing!

to be fair, this is far from normal construction in Europe

There are no European standards or practices per say but yes, it is interesting. This being said, he’s building the house himself and a contractor might/will do it with profit in mind so not the same approach.

Europe is quite big, with many very different areas with different traditions and also different climate conditions. So the construction styles and standards and methods vary a lot across Europe. Plus, this house is not built as a standard house would. This is a designer home, using many custom solutions. But I also like to look at the American videos and see how things are done differently there :)

Yes I guess when building for yourself, you do it the way you want it and it is not necessary the same it's usually done.. A lot of it here is a learning experience for me as well..
@8:47 Looking like the building of a NYC skyscraper. The poured cement is so intimidating for a residential build. 1000% Strong As The Ages. I wish you had a larger piece of land to build a home for your cars. That would be such an awesome estate.

Is it? RC pillars are standard for the Balkans. That is how they withstand earthquakes which we do get. Some people will do wood framing but the resale value of those sucks.
Always look forward to this series. Interesting to see the differences with this home vs one built in Canada.

I know so many people who bury their cables straight in the wall. I always think, what if you have to change some wiring? A bit of extra money now for conduit will save so much time and money later on. I like when I see people doing things how I'd do them. I don't envy you if you're doing the plastering yourself, That is my ultimate weakness. Beautiful house, you're going to make the neighbours jealous😃
@lignumchannel

Yes, whatever isn't easily accessible should go into conduit, although people ensured me that modern cables will outlive my grandchildren.. As for the plastering, it would probably take me months because I have no experience in it , so we decided to hire professionals who will do it in a couple of days.. Also I got recommendations from different people for the same team so I'm looking forward to the quality of the work. :)
The ceiling, Timbers, and glass look stunning already with the lighting

Hi Thanks for your house build videos. My youtube says Philippines and that's our holiday home. I'm a retired builder in New Zealand and I'm enjoying your build very different from NZ and Philippines. 😊
It's your money but this has to be the most expensive per square foot home ever built. It looks more like a modern art museum than a home. Looking forward to the hvac installation.

This house is looking so impressive. My house was part of a new neighborhood and it was just thrown up in such a short amount of time. Our’s was one ofWe were given a choice between a few preset room configurations and allowed very few customizations. They didn’t even pay much attention to adequately pre-compacting the soil. We had to have the foundation lifted and stabilized after only 15 years because the whole front ¼ of the house was sinking. Most of my neighbors have had or are having the same problem. It has been very interesting to watch you build this gorgeous house from the beginning. Thank you for sharing this with us.

@@lignumchannel I would imagine that you felt that way many times. The amount of work that you and your fiancé have done is very impressive, to say the least. Yet, you are a builder, a creator, and an artist. It seems natural that you would want to create the space that your family will live in. When it’s all finished, you both will feel the joy and pride every time you walk through a door or open a window. It may not soothe the bumps, bruises and sore muscles now, but it soon will. I also think it’s cool that you’ll have these incredible videos that you have been able produce about it to pass down to your future generations. But for now, you’ll have to be content with just wowing us. 😉
Like the other posters I find this fascinating because it is so different from my experience. Again loving these videos That wall of windows is going to be spectacular at night

The p. u. foam is an unsung hero of this build:) Yes the prices have dropped to almost the same level as 3 years ago but I think that's it. If they were this low when I started this build, a lot more timber would be used.

So far you are right:) Wait, there were some during the form-work stages.. :)
There are a lot of building practices there that are much better than here in the USA, but I'll never understand building a super strong block wall, and then bashing weak points in it to run electrical wiring or plumbing.
@lignumchannel
11 ай бұрын
The thick brick walls are load bearing by default but concrete beams, walls and pillars take on the horizontal seismic forces and wind forces. That is the way the statics are calculated, house needs to have enough surface area of concrete walls- pillars in both perpendicular directions so a few notches and holes in bricks won't do any harm to house statics.

this must cost a lot. Is there any way for us to find out how much money did you spend till now on building materials?
some Adolf loos level stuff going on here
How are you going to replace the bulbs when they burn out 😅
jesus christ, hilti makes some nice cable clamps which can be used with direct fastening nail guns. and straps, those screws will make problems for you later on under the floor
@lignumchannel
Жыл бұрын
Why would they? they are all under the 12mm level, and another layer of flooring comes on top of it. Also the easiest way is to unscrew a screw if a cable needs replacing.
Si, ma se si fulmina un faretto? Piattaforma aerea??? 😄
Вот честно не понимаю, зачем все замуровывают проводку, ведь есть съёмные фальшь стены и им подобные решения и ими легко всё закрыть и тогда будет очень легко проводить ремонт, обновление и добавлять новые элементы!
