I have trouble believing that this person is purchasing eggs or chickens straight from Indonesia. It just sounds like a scam to me. There is more than a couple of bloodlines here in the States already so it's not like people would be desperate.

I think the extra toes came from a recessive gene. If you inbreed some animals, you bring out their recessive (hidden) gene alleles. And if you get the eggs from the same source, there is a good change that they are closely related, coming from the same mating pair. But this is the way of new variants, mutations, new colorations, patterns, etc.. But if you want to preserve the original form, it is worth (ok maybe not 6k, but generally) to get them from the source country - getting new bloodlines make the genetic more diverse, and you will have less chance of such mishaps to occur. I think that breeder (with the 6k birds) is very responsible.

I used to have chickens, had them for about four years before most were killed off by disease or animals. I loved having them, they were so fun to watch, and got so many delicious eggs from them. I wanted to hatch out chickens of my own, and got a free rooster, and he killed four of my chickens, so we gave him away. Thinking back, I think it was a fighting rooster. If I get chickens again, I will definitely make sure that things are done right, as thinking back, there was a lot I did wrong.

Hi, I really love all your videos❤❤, been following your channel for a long time since I came a cross your channel when I was in junior high school. Now I've finished high school and your channel has always accompanied me while studying and I'm from Indonesia and I think it's very cool that you succeeded in hatching cemani chickens, and it is very true that the price is fantastic because here in Indonesia cemani chickens are raised not for consumption but for ritual and mystical purposes for those who still believe in them and some people keep cemani chickens as a collection of rare pets Ps : because of your channel we now also raise a couple livestock in our backyard, such as ducks, chickens, and quail but our main livestock is Muscovy duck. oh yeah... we also have pigeons I hope that your channel continues to grow as well as your farm and you and your family are healthy, fit and always in a happy life ✨

Your baby cow is adorable!! As a precautionary note, it is very dangerous to leave a halter on pasture or even stall animals. That includes horses, cows, goats or any other animal. Halters can and do get caught on things that can end up hurting or even killing your animal.

I don’t get why genetics like extra toes matter that much. Like, imo, as long as you got a friendly and healthy animal, there’s nothing wrong with it and shouldn’t be treated as a failure just cause it’s different. Poor babies didn’t ask to be in this world and it’s just unfair that they’re treated like they’re worthless just because of a cosmetic difference

May you RIP gentle Johnny Cash.😢 He was a very handsome fellow. You seemed to be very happy doing this new hatch Jake! I hope that these new babies survive and thrive! This episode reminds me of a video from The History Guy. He did an episode on the "rare chicken" craze back in the Victorian era; collector chickens were going for tons of money until the market became flooded with them. It is a very interesting and fun video to watch. With quality chimani's also being hard to get, more people will want to raise them. Sounds like a good investment for sure. Perhaps, you can trade some of your other rarer birds for a few more chimani's for your breeding stock (that is if you haven't already done or thought of that). The new calf is so darling. It will be fun to hear the name you choose. As always, love the videos. They are a wonderful pick me up. God Bless you all!

My sister interested in a couple of these black chickens, but she bought the eggs and I was pretty sure she told me her eggs were black, so I’m gonna check back with her about that especially after seeing your eggs. She’s been raising all kinds of chickens for years, and she is a breeder of a specific dog, and I can’t mention it because she’s selecting who she sells to, and she sells your famous people. Anyway, I thought this was an excellent video, and I’m going to send it to her… Very informative. When is things I really enjoyed was finally hearing your daughter talk even though she only shared a couple of words… I’ve already forgotten what she said, I think it was like, “chickie, ME!” but, she had the cutest, sweetest little voice 😊❤❤❤❤❤ But I appreciate you taking the time to educate people about this, so they didn’t get scammed. My sister bought something overseas, and it was thousands and thousands of dollars but what she didn’t realize and it was never told her by the individual selling it or the airlines… Even though she had paid , a high amount of money for the tickets… Every airline where they stopped, because they had to take the dog out of the plane and let it do it’s business, as well as feed and water it, she was charge an additional $50 per stock and I think she said she was charged over 12 different times $50. She was furious with the extra cost.😂❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ Th really sad news is that this high priced animal managed to get loose in their electric fences as he was following another little pet, which has free range to go anywhere, and unfortunately, the mailman did not see the small animal and ran over it😂😂😂😂 this happened within my think four or five weeks of purchasing it. I don’t know if he offered to pay the cost of the animal or offer. Any condolences in a monetary way, but they were devastated because they had fallen in love with this new animal, and it was purchased by, so that you could increase your bloodline for years and years and years😂😂 if you’re not prepared to lose an animal… Don’t buy one, because as you stated, on your video, things can happen that you have no control of. Thank you White House on a hill for doing an excellent job on your videos❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Recently lost my two roosters to a fox. One of them was a Belgian duccle who loved cuddles. It sucks loosing chickens either to predators or old age

Your original poor quality chicks were not ayams at all. With the five toes and black coloring they were most likely mystic Onyx. They are a hatchery cross breed that uses silkies and something else hence the five toes. Great little birds, but not what you paid for... good luck with your new babies and so sorry about your losses.

For the cow you need a kick bar. You should be able to get one from any agricultural suplies. I'm in the u.k. but I think you have tractor supplies. That will stop her kicking.

What do you recommend as a good entry level incubator for a family starting out. We’re pretty tight with our budget right now, but I don’t want to buy a crappy one. I know you’ve reviewed quite a few incubators and loved some , but also hated some. I would love the brinsea ova-easy cabinet incubator, but that’s for the future! Thanks

Rooster named Colonel, has to be named Colonel Sanders. another good name for a male Ayam Chimani would be Agent R (or Agent C) from the Men in Black movie. R for Agent Rooster or C for Agent Chicken :D

I find it strange that in the US Ayam Cemani are that expensive... here in France, we easily find eggs and adult chickens. Eggs are around 2€ and chicken around 15€. Also, if you want your calf to learn to tolerate the halter, you shouldn't release him when he pulls... it means for him that when he pulls, he gets free. You need to wait that he releases the tension and relax before you can free him, and it exactly at this moment, never when he pulls.
