    Pressure of an engine driven hydraulic unit is proportional to engine torque. As this is a governor engine, torque is nearly constant. As load increases, the governor opens the throttle increasing torque. Engine speed increases pumped volume which is just the speed of hydraulic cylinders or hydraulic motors.

    That green oak is corrosive to steel. If there is any twisting motion on a fastener, it might be better to use grade 5. I have a large hydraulic winch and the instructions specify grade 5 only because of twisting and bending motion. Unless you change your relief valve setting, a higher RPM will only give you more flow but not higher pressure. With the size of your suction hose, you could cavitate that pump.

    Good luck with the new crane great job, but one thing I might suggest how about some outriggers add to the New trailer behind the rear wheels and in the front. I know you've probably spent a small fortune on it already but better safe then sorry, also do you think some slightly larger plates on your rear hydraulic jacks more bearing area. Sorry to hear about poor Mandy hope she gets better soon. Good luck Jerry.

    depending on how much it is infected doing so you may risk an even worse infection, that is why this is not done anymore today. Besides the poison does not remain really that concentrated to that area. You have an initial high concentration in the tissue of the immediate area, which causes the highest immune reaction, but by the time you get to the vet, the poison would have been diluted and distributed through the blood stream anyways. So if you only discover a possible bite some time later, it would do nothing but posibly cause more infection. The same is valid for snakebites on humans, all those suction cup or lancing devices may look nice, but they don´t do anything helpful. The only thing working, especially depending on the kind of poison, would be a tourniquet, which comes with its own risks, and you would have to apply that more or less the moment the snake lets go. But only works with poisons affecting the nervous system or the blood itself. If it is of the kind that causes a necrosis of the tissue, there is not much you can do. If such a swelling or pus pocket opens by itself, thats a different thing. And I would advise talking to the vet (I think he mentioned he wanted to do that) if any additional wound care is necessary.

    @@h2omechanic Thats good to hear. Sometimes things just take some time. Also good if it is not that big a wound, that should heal fast and without issues. I know dermatologists on humans in such cases sometimes put in an iodine impregnated gauze, not sure if that would work for dogs as well or if they would start to nibble on it. As long as it is a pinkish fluid it should be fine. thats likely just lymphatic fluid with some blood mixed in. if it was infected it would be yellowish pus comming out, but the medication she got should prevent that from happening. After all our beloved pets are family members, like a child to us.

    The bad thing about tube stock for the under side of a trailer the tube can look fine from the outside but the tube will rust inside the tube and it can look strong but if it's rusted enough on the inside it can be weak and when it's under a strain it can break. I had a trailer for my 21 foot sled boat that looked new from the outside ,but it broke completely in half where the spring hangers were welded to the frame . After tearing the trailer apart that 1/4 inch heavy wall tubing had rusted on the inside to the point all that was left was less then a 16th of an inch of steel left . Check the inside of those tubes even if it takes drilling a small hole on the bottom of the tube to check for weak tube from rust.

  • @alexanderkupke920

    @alexanderkupke920

    Ай бұрын

    I have seen someone with a comparable setup add angle iron front and back to those tubes or sometimes C-channel to stiffen it up and no rely purely on those tubes. My idea would be, run a length of angle iron underneath the profiles, whatever they are, the wood is sitting on lenghtwise, to spread the load across a number of those. In this situation having one run covering both mounting locations, just extending them by e.g. 2 cross profiles. if that does not hold up i don´t know.

    You may want to add vents to the tool box or switch the battery to a Gel Cell so that you do not get a hydrogen gas build up in the confined space. You may also want to try synthetic winch line instead of wire rope, no rust.

  • @alexanderkupke920
    @alexanderkupke920Ай бұрын

    Not sure what kind of loads you plan to get on that crane. I guess it is mainly to removing pipe and pumps from wells. I have seen someone with such a jig (not for wells, but comparable straight down load, add two kind of outriggers to the trailer on the sides. He could flip them out so they extend from a strong hinge just before the rear lights housing from the side C channel to about a 45 ° angle backwards out and could telescop out to just over 1.5 times their stowed length from the hinge to the wheel well. on the end he then could flip down and screw down some sort of jacks. reminded me of the screw jacks you might find on scaffolding. for driving everything stowed nicely tugged in on the side. As those supports were further out and behind the built in ones, they added a lot in terms of tipping backwards or sideways. Or, if the trailer has the capacity, if you want to be on the safe side, add some wight closer to the front, of course keeping the correct tongue weight in mind.

  • @Failure_Is_An_Option
    @Failure_Is_An_OptionАй бұрын

    Axles need slid back a foot, probably more. I don't care how heavy your tow vehicle is. Insufficient pin weight with an oscillation will whip it right off the road. Be real tempted to mount the engine and fuel tank mounted in the tool box, and the tool box on the tongue instead of the deck. I know those hydraulic lines get real pricey going that route. But you really want all you can get up front. Besides it keeps your equipment out of the weather, and out of sight.
