We Got CAUGHT In a DESERT WIND STORM
In this video we head outside of the centre of San Pedro in our Nissan Kicks hire car for our first day exploring the Atacama desert. The desert definitely had a few surprises up its sleeve for us though which made it quite an adventure!
First we made our way over to Laguna Cejar which is a beautiful area with 3 salt lagoons and one that we even managed to swim in, just about! It was freezing and of course the weather began to drastically change just as we got in the water.
Then we hit the road again and got quite a surprise!

Brave to get in that cold water!!! Brrrr! Plus the salt! Yuk! Sand storms aren’t nice to be in, esp trying to breath!!! It’s good you were in a car! Glad you got through ok. An adventure for sure!

Took quite a lot of persuasion to get me in and as you can see didn't last long, Craig did well but he handles the cold way better than me!
You two are troopers getting in that cold water... knowing you will have to deal with the wind after 🥶 the wind in this episode was crazy! Of course the unusual wind conditions just happen to occur when you are there. I think I would be exhausted just from being out in that wind all day!

It took a lot of persuasion from Craig to get me to go in! 2 seconds was enough but he made me try the floating too so I had to do it twice 😅 Yes, we certainly seem to have a habit of finding crazy abnormal weather conditions 😅

It's really rare to find that kind of wind in San Pedro, I guess you guys were unlucky this time, I hope you can see the Valley of the Moon at night, which is where it's truly fantastic.

Yes, we do have a habit of visiting places during a time when the weather does something crazy and out of character. It's becoming a habit that we'd like to break!
