It's nice that she's taking these animals that were just discarded like trash & making them into something beautiful that can be appreciated. So heartbreaking seeing the dog skull with the very obvious cod, I can only hope someone was putting a sick animal out of their misery but there's no reason not to give that animal a nice burial, even when we fall an animal hunting we use every part of it & return anything we can't use into the earth

This is my heaven. This is an ideal Saturday morning to me.

I was camping one time on my property in Northern Arkansas. I got bored and went for a walk on the dirt road bordering my property. I came upon a curve in the road and looking down the slope where the bodies of 40 to 50 dead cats and dogs lay. Needless to say, I turn and ran back to my camp, loaded up, and hit the road. It hasn't happened again in the 21 years I've owned the land. I figure someone killed a bunch of pets or the humane society dumped them there. Very creepy. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

From the colors and texture of that big rock you found it has a lot of properties to a type of flint that can be used to make arrow heads.

Bri has such a good eye for finds. I love how both you and @wildkyle are often busy presenting or being adorably silly, while Bri is quietly unearthing the most amazing Miocene shark teefs!

That rock is flint. Very nice pattern in it. I don't recall ever seeing flint in Florida but there was lots in parts of Alabama. I used to eat those cactus fruit too but never tried cooking them. Looked really good. The dog skull has an obvious bullet hole, so was probably put down.

So much fun to come along with you on your adventures. Here in Canada the ground is covered in snow so there is no fossil hunting or bone hunting until spring.

Fossil flint; I don't know what those critters in the stone are called, but I've seen them in a few places out here in the Southwest in flint too-- yours has more beautiful patterning, though, really gorgeous stuff. As for prickly-pears, most years I make jelly or candy but if it fails to jell (which sometimes just happens) it gets used as the most AMAZING pancake syrup! Try it! You can always tell people that it's what you were actually trying to make! ^_^ Also, if you're going to pick them (the fruits are actually called 'tunas,' btw), always bring along some BBQ tongs, the longest you can find; they work great to reach fruit beyond your arms-length, especially if they have the little curvy square bits made of wire at the ends. You can also use them to hold the tunas while you burn off the glochids.

We haven’t tried adding pectin for jelly yet, but can’t wait to try. We’ve been eating this syrup stuff on everything since this video was filmed. I’m blown away by how incredible it is and ready to figure out what else we can make from it and how to grow it ourselves.

You know seeing that bulldog skull or bully breed skull is really kind of hurts somebody probably didn’t want them anymore and shot it or it was very sick and they couldn’t afford to take care of it so instead of surrendering it to a rescue and getting it help they took it into the woods and shot it that’s because I saw the hole in the head you know that that animal was shot pigs they could’ve cross the road I got hit with a run wild down there but that is someone’s favorite dumpsite because you found so many deer with the antlers cut off

I think someone has already commented that the unusual looking rock that you found was Flint. I’m going to take a step further and tell you that it might be Flint. It also could be another type of stone called chert. I say that partly because of the patterns. I do a bit of amateur archaeology, and I also know how to make stone tools out of flint and other types of stone. So, I would have to see a better picture of it up close to know exactly what it is but I’ve done a couple of screenshots when you guys held it up to the camera and I’ll see if I can cross reference it to anything in a database, I have that shows different types of stone used for tool making. The large globular looking stone that you found is called a nodule and it forms geologically beneath the surface of the Earth. Because there is a lot of lime, stone and lime, rock and lime sand in Florida. This may indeed be flint, or it could be, as I said chert which is actually a lot more common in Florida than Flint. to answer the question of how it got to where you found it in the woods… In all likelihood, it was dug up at some point in the past. Possibly by someone going through the area with equipment or possibly buy a native American person many years ago, who left it where it is so they could come back later and break it up to use for tools. it’s good stuff and it will hold a sharp edge but it is still durable. You should know that if you’re going to cut into this that you better have a really really good blade that is made for a cutting lapidary or gemstones. These microcrystalline silica structure in it, is what makes it able to be broken and used for tools.

Its crazy how the simular Florida is to parts of Australia!!! Thats an awesome tip with the prickly pears, using fire to get rid of the hairs!! We also have those vines with the thorns on them here and are often called wait 'a'while or lawyer vines! They make awesome building material for fish traps if you are ever in a survival situation!! Awesome video and those crystal skull sculptures are spectacular!!!!

My cousins started dipping them in paint, it gives the skulls a tie dye effect, might be a fun art project to do with them!

I will be adding some sculptures to the shop soon! But we also plan to make more videos with a variety of things nature. More foraging, fishing, camping, and birding along with the fossils and minerals! 😊

That bird by the pond with the wagging tail is a Palm Warbler. Bri would of loved the spot I used to have access to where the Michigan DNR dumped road killed black bear. Lots of bones you don't normally have access to. There are many places in northern Michigan where you find deer carcasses, but no pigs or alligators. Thanks for the fun video.

My favorite place to skull hunt is by the train tracks! Lots of animals end up being hit by the train and u can usually find whole skeletons in pretty good shape !

We drive around on main roads outside of towns and look for dumped trash. If we see trash, we pull in and find the bones. We check a lot of spots that we don’t film because the right stuff isn’t dumped there.

If you found pit bull skulls here in north central Texas yould be looking at the outcome of dog fights. There is a large minority in Texas that used to be known for fighting roosters, now its pits.

Please please please make videos more often! All of your videos are so incredibly interesting and entertaining! I would adore the opportunity of seeing at least one video per week! You are Bree are two of my very favorite KZread-rs, and I’m excited every time I see that you’ve posted another video! 🙂

Great video! I use prickly pear in kombucha, it adds an unusual flavor many people are not aware of. It also adds a nice shade of magenta to it.

When I was a child my dad would prepare prickly pears ("higos chumbos") for me to eat. They were brought to the Old World and so they are considered an invasive species in Spain, where I live. ¡Un saludo!
