Beautiful Amygdaloidal Basalt! Hunting for Agates and Galaxy Stone in the Mountains!
In this one, we go back to a hunt from the summer when a fishing trip to the mountains turned into a hunt for gorgeous chalcedony, agates, and amygdaloidal basalt! This basalt is some of my favorite material to collect and cut because of its inclusions of absolutely perfect micro agates, complete with druzy pockets, filled in quartz, and even fortification and waterline banding! After our hunt, we head back to the shop to cut into some of our finds! I hope you all enjoy this one, and I will have another one out soon!

It's comforting to know that there are others out there who do what I do. I can not walk past ANY place that has rocks without looking to see what I can pick up. 😅

Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Congratulations! Isn't it amazing inside?
Sincerely TomcatJosh!!!!
Show us the fishing! Lol I love rocks and fishing.
THAT'S WHAT IT'S CALLED! Dammit, I been trying to figure out what some of the ones I been cutting are... amygdaloidal basalt!
Like the Agate & Quartz.. So many unusual finds. Thanks for sharing..
Always a good video when Theo is happy.
My favorite was definitely the last cut A. Basalt! Amazing!
Can't wait for your new saw blade. Enjoy your trip.
OMG, that big galaxy stone that you cut is hands down my fave! Stupendous!
Those amygdaloidal basalts are really nice and special! They are just like little universes, with each of the chalcedony pockets its own little galaxy. I love them! And that last one you cut was my favorite! The chalcedony pockets were so cool and large enough to see the details in it! That big one you have is going to be another nice one 😂 ken the last one you cut. It has those large chalcedony pockets and many that are little geode pockets with their own little crystal caves! That is so much fun! You are going to have to send a slab to Karen to look at under the microscope. And those crystal caves become just that under high power magnification! But they are definitely the coolest rocks to even come out of Montana! I love them way better than Montana moss agates. Although there are a rare few that are different. Like the ones with fortifications! But these basalts are really special! Thanks for finally putting this video up! It was awesome and the cuts were fabulous! Thanks Theo and Alexis for finding the beautiful pet woods! That's why I love this channel and it makes me love Montana even more❣️
Wow, red basalt with green jasper! Cool!

Prenite...what's in the basalt ... the green stuff ,if you'll notice it has a slight translucency. Green Casper can have some translucency but it's usually mostly opaque .
baby micro agates so pretty 🤩
Thankzzz!!! #floridavidzzz!!!
This week, at a local little creek behind a grocery store here in VA, I found quite a bit of green Amygdaloids. Now I know what they are thanks to you Theo. 😊 But these are varied shades of light green, some light olive green, with tiny whitish quartz pockets all over. Haven’t cut any yet.
I picked up some galaxy basalt a few years ago and haven’t done anything with it yet haha. This makes me want to cut some up.
Great rocks. Molly was my favorite today
My favourite! Galaxy stone! Let's GOOOOO!
Thanks you two for another great video❤
Amazing beautiful rocks! Have very safe and happy trip!
Very cool specimens. 😎
TomcatJosh!!!

I love amygdaloidal basalt! The last one you cut is awesome! So much detai,l and those agate bands...i love it! 😊
Uuu, nice ones❤❤
I have some of this and have been trying to figure out what it is. This was so helpful. Now if I could ID all my green stones. 🤦🏻♀️ is it green Opal, green garnet, jade, jadeite, calcite? I’m so frustrated by them all. Then there’s the big weird clear one. I’m saying, we need more videos! More please.
The rocks are beautiful! So how many fish did you catch?😂😂
Well the way your going your going to fill your bag over
#drogon!!!!!
I think you just like saying amygdaloial. They were beautiful cuts. The last I liked the best. I hope your having fun in FL.
Hi Theo and Alexis!!! I'm in town 6-20 thru 6-26, 6-24 blue jewel sapphire mine!!! My bday!!! Have a Rock twister coming and possibly a JnV, with a katydid invite, you guys interested in a group thang???
😎😎😎
@17:20 in the video I'm fairly certain the green stuff appears that it's most likely prenite... It's commonly found in amigdoloydal basalt in other areas so maybe Yellowstone area too ?

Prehnite! That's exactly what it was! I was thinking jasper but then I wondered why it was transparent like chalcedony, that makes so much sense now🤣 definitely prehnite, thank you!

Yoooooo I’m down for it baby ! I have a huge galaxy stone I’ve been waiting for that video man ! Mine is orange basalt full of agate bubble like nodules of various sizes, the big ones are like 3cm long 2,5 thick I don’t know it that will cut right or break on me , so it’s a show piece “ orange gummy candy “
Amen❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉

❣👍💯
Sorry if this izzz not ok theo!!! 6-20 thru 6-26 I'm in Montana, trying to start a gathering!!! #birthday6-24
Do you refill your water sprayer with river water? Or does it clog it up?
I have never seen a cat go fishing with anyone before! How did you get your cat to do that?
My wife found a large piece of amygdaloidal basalt in a corn field in Illinois. How it got there, I can only say "Glacial?" I've cut and polished a few pieces, black and white with some chatoyant crystal in the white.
Quit lying there were no fish just rocks.
