Hey guys. Walls & ceilings were constructed from strips of timber with lime plaster slapped on - lathe & plaster. All UK sockets were round pin, up until the late 60s. There were two sizes - 5 amp & 15 amp - & the plugs had no fuses inside, unlike our current 13 amp plugs. As someone mentioned previously, the sacking-like mesh on the walls was jute. It was 'doped' with an early version of wallpaper paste to make it go rigid; then paper could be applied to it.

The hessian sacking on the walls is called scrim and needed to be starched before applying wallpaper. The scrim was attached to boards and was used instead of plaster.

That place was a beautiful little cottage back in the day. Hope someone restores it. It's gorgeous! You guys need some Raid to kill off the wasps and such.

You two crack me up!!! You will run from a wasp, be it a big one, but you will continuously go back into a house that has flippin ghosts, throwing things at or around you! Not me.....I'll take a giant wasp over some creepy spirits!!! I have had my share of ghosts, to this day, really have had my share! I am on this end of your explore and didn't even need to hear the creepy crap and could of told you that place was not good!!!! Love the scooters though!!! Beautiful country too!! You must get your share of rain because you have a whole lot of green! Beautiful!!!

Thanks for the comment, we definitely do encounter some creepy things on some explores, but I'm not going to disturb something that probably just wants to be left alone. I like to keep an open mind. Glad you enjoyed the adventure though 😁👍

That was one strange place , someone with a bent mind probably spent their last days decorating with dead birds . Pre-war sockets/switches, no central heating or upstairs plumbing - reminds me of my grandparents farmhouse which was redeveloped in the late 1980s. The electric box in the kitchen and the electric oven were the two newest things in the place, and seem out of step with the age of the rest

Those hornets/wasps are probably there because they eat mosquitos and you found lots of those in this house. A good reason that those birds were hanging around is that they eat hornets and mosquitos. However, I don't think either one of them eat Ed's 🤣, just a sting or a few. All joking aside, that was a huge hornet and I would have run too, I'm allergic to them. I didn't like that house, it's really creepy. The scooters are a brilliant idea.

Alex I am with you. That house creeped me all the way over here in Texas. There was obviously some kind of ritual going on in there. When people goto a place and call upon negativity/ It usually comes. I dont know if thats what was going on there, but when you went up stairs there was definttly something watching you. I could feel it. People are entitled to their own opionions and I am not trying to tell anyone what to think, I am just agreeing that something dark was there, and I have felt that feeling before and know what it feels like. Make sure to sage your house and say the prayer of St. Michael the Arch angel while you are saging your house. That will get rid of anything that might have followed you home. DONt GO BACK THERE. Unless 5 million people tell you,

The video has a great start - the scooters look to be a lot of fun. That place seems very unpleasant, or maybe less the place, more the weird person who has been 'decorating' with dead birds. The living wildlife is something else - hornets and spiders, very nasty. There is a KZread video 'Catching Murder Hornets with a Butterfly Net': the damned thing uses its jaws to try to cut its way out of the net. These big hornets are thought to be spreading!

The place looks like it could be fixed up and lived in.😊👍
