Clicked on this to watch and see what Sparks Motors was up to, but I got an explanation of blacksmithing that gave me a whole new level of appreciation for the fantastic work that Andrew and his wife do! Forged in Fire touches on some of it, but they haven't ever explained it as clearly and precisely as Andrew did in this clip.

That's a great looking press you've got there Andrew 😉 thank you for your service brother. We're thrilled to be a part of your shop.
What an awesome gift for her and for Dave. It's great to have good friends/family.
The end of the video when you presented “The Bill” to Dave’s Mother brought tears to this old Vietnam Veterans eyes. I found it fascinating that he used the phrase “you’re one of the good guys”. I have found myself using the same phrase over the years with people I think are worthy. Some days they can be darned hard to find. 23rd Infantry Division “Americal” Chu Lai & Combat Support Base Vandergrift 1970-1971.

I have a whole new perspective on blacksmithing and all the time and work that goes into it Andrew is a beast at this and it’s honestly hard to believe he made those
This was a incredible gift for the Sparks family! You guys did a great thing!!
As a knife collector, a small collection, those knives are beautiful!
You guys are some of the good guys. Awesome job!
Awesome video, true patriots, and you made mama Sparks cry! What’a bunch a guys!
What a way to give back. I love how they thought they would even compress a military truck spring lmao Edit: Andrew is just an amazing artist. Those tools are just absolutely beautiful.
it's truly a dying art I'm glad to see some people are still doing blacksmithing
Great idea, many tears. You all are doing good work. Thank you for sharing with us, it's the little things that count. Sparks mom will cherish that knife/momento forever!
Didn't anticipate tearing up today damn it. Fantastic video all around. You all find top notch people not only to make your products but to work along side. Hearts bigger than the planet, keep it up guys.
Having watched Alec Steele and Will Stelter and "Man At Arms: Reforged" for years it was kinda hilarious to me how oblivious the Sparks crew was to the basics of blacksmithing... 😂😁😇 But yeah, leaf springs and coil springs are a staple for bladesmiths for over a century now. High carbon steel makes good sharp blades - if the smith knows what he's doing. It's not just about smashing steel into form, it's also a lot about the knowledge of metallurgy. Heat treating and hardening through quenching are two critical things where the bladesmith has to know what happens inside the steel... 😉✌️
You guys always make my Thursday a little better! Thankyou! Your videos are the best!
Thank you for your service to our USA! a Marine. Andrew has a nice place. The monkey is a cool mark. The scenery is so beautiful. Reminds me of where my parents grew up. Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
Andrew and family are true artist. The stealth knife rocks I liked the Bill knife also

This is by far one of my absolute favorite videos love it, especially when you surprised sparks mom awesome love her reaction
Andrew, this one really touched me when you present the knife to Dave's mother. I served during Vietnam, and while the Abraham tank was tested for field readiness. It did not do so good out in the desert and i watched as it had to be towed in because the air filter clogged. It showed a lot of history in those knives, and I am proud to watch your show.

One Grandfather served in Korea, I have Great Uncles who served in WW2, my uncles and Dad are Vietnam Vets. For a blacksmith let alone one that Served in the Corp to have made such beautiful blades is mind blowing.

That was awesome, all of the builds and shenanigans' are cool but that was over the top cool. We need an update when you give it to Dave.
Good on ya brother, keep on keepin on...
My 3rd son is getting into blacksmithing, this is very cool!
I remember I always look forward to Metal Shop in Highschool. There we had a forge, there we make simple tools like hammers, chisels and pliers we also sand casted items too. You video brought back some good memories.
That means so much to me that he built a knife handle with the material from Vietnam-era fatigues. There are fewer of us around now because of the things we were exposed to.
Ok that ending got me.....just lost my dad in November and my father in law on Sunday. Both armed forces both served with honor. Semper fi
Haha, I have a pile of springs I use in my forge.. Tho, I thing my husband wishes I would let him scrap some lol…. They make amazing tools, I reworked a few for forge tools, and knives.
Spring steel makes great swords and knives.... Just Saying
