In the comic books. Wonder Woman has defeated Superman. In the MC/DC crossover event, Wonder Woman was worthy enough to pick up Thor's hammer Mjölnir The fact this was the first time she ever got a film is upsetting, but damn I am glad they waited, this film was beyond brilliant!!!! Also Patty Jenkins was the Director of this film, Snyder fans try to give him credit, because this movie was universally loved, unlike MoS and BvS

Wonder Woman is to me the Queen of DC, her superman and batman were the first characters to be exist in the early days I believe after the great depression I think idk, Wonder Woman story had some different backgrounds but around the 2000s I think they recreated the character to actually tells us where she comes from and what's her powers and her purpose too.

This film shows us why Wonder Woman is such a great superhero and Gal Gadot is absolutely perfect in the role. She does a great job at bringing the character to life. Everything is awesome from the tons of great action, great characters, great story, great cinematography, great scenery, and great chemistry! The only downside is the climax, but even that one issue didn't ruin the film at all for me.

This movie though been directed (and perfectly) by Patty Jenkins, has some important Snyder`s influence. Zack helped Patty with action scenes (that`s why they look so similar to his `300`) and co-wrote the overall story. He even convinced her to invite Connie Nielsen to play Diana`s mother. (Patty refused at first but then she just `fell in love` with her future Hippolyta after they first met)

@@jynxce Maybe you didn't mean it this way, but you should be careful not to attribute too much of the success of this film to Snyder or too much of the failures of 1984 to his lack of involvement. It sorta smacks of "woman can't do a good job without a man." Everyone has ups and downs. Snyder's made his own mistakes. Jenkins wrote and directed Monster, which landed Charlize Theron an Oscar. Again, I realize you didn't actually say anything objectionable. I just thought it was worth mentioning that the relative merit of this vs. the sequel could be understood a certain way that it shouldn't be.

I don't know why it's hard for you people to accept that a woman doesn't need to be celebrated even when she fails or didn't do a good job. There are other way better female directors out there than her. Jenkins had indirectly criticized Snyder's successful take on WW and made it quite clear in interviews that her version in 1984 was the better and ideal one. This movie would've failed if everything was in her hands.

Fun fact Wonder Woman was introduced in 1941 as a World War II hero like Captain America both created in 1941. She alongside U.S. Air Force officer Steve Trevor would fight across Europe against the Nazi's and was a member of the Justice Society of America introduced a years prior in 1940 and is actually the first ever comic book Superhero team ever created. Wonder Woman later became a founding member of the Justice League of America alongside Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern etc. So she was a member of both the Justice Society a group of hero's fighting crime in the 1940's onwards (Until the members got old enough to retire) and later the Justice League of America. There's actually a really cool animated film called Justice Society: World War II (2021) that follows the Justice Society fighting in WW2 with Wonder Woman as one of the main characters. It's a fun watch and heavily recommend it. Moving her story to WW1 was pretty cool and unique. There's not alot of WW1 movies until around this time so it's a cool setting for Wonder Woman. I do wonder if she ever fought in WW2. One problem I have relating to the DCEU as a whole is the fact that in Man of Steel one of the main points of that film was the world was not ready for Superman. But here we have hero's 100 years before Superman fighting on the front lines and with future DC films we know that other hero's have existed and were active on Earth decades before Superman revealed himself to the world. So it's a universe filled with Superhero's, weakens that overall message in Man of Steel for me and personally I was one of those people who never really cared for the message in the first place.

The ugly part about the whole Wonder Woman moving to WWI bit was that, because the MCU ruined everything, and came out with Captain America first, every numb nut on the internet would be slamming the DCEU for "copy-catting" Captain America's story, even though, in reality, it was DC that came out with Wonder Woman first. So it was actually the other way around. But the average joe wouldn't have known that, and WB would have gotten lambasted by the ignorant Hollywood Media, and made to look like fools. So moving Wonder Woman back to the previous world war was a choice they really had no choice but to make. It sucks, because, once again, Disney ruins everything. And nowadays, knowing what Disney has become, that just feels so much more malicious than it probably actually was.

So yes there's a pretty big connection between Wonder Woman and Captain America. Both were created in 1941 as a reaction to the Second World War. Captain America first appeared in Captain America Comics no. 1. (March 1941) This comic has the iconic cover of Captain America hitting Hitler across the face. While Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics no. 8 (December 1941) where it plays out just like how Steve was found in the film just in WW2 instead of WW1. So yeah both characters were very much used as American war propaganda and later developed from there after the war ended. Captain America was brought back in 1963 found in the ice by the nearly formed Avengers. And Wonder Woman went off to join the newly created Justice League in 1960.

The best DCEU movie IMO. Wonder Woman has one of DC Comics’ messiest canons, but I’m glad this movie settled on the one that best explains her power level (i.e., daughter of Zeus). One of my favorite comic book scenes about how powerful she is comes from a conversation between Batman & Superman in a recent comic run. Superman & Wonder Woman had been having a fling, and this noticeably upset Batman. They assumed it was because Batman was jealous, but the reason was much darker. Batman reveals to Superman in a private conversation that he (Batman) maintains a stockpile of each of the Justice League members’ weaknesses, just in case it’s ever needed (this IS Batman we’re talking about; plans within plans). Except for Wonder Woman. She has no built in weakness. No Kryptonite. So Batman was upset about her relationship with Superman, because Superman WAS Batman’s back-up plan against Wonder Woman. And he didn’t want his only play against Wonder Woman to be emotionally compromised by her. Batman needed Superman to be able to fight Diana if necessary. Nothing else could stop her.

Excellent review. To clarify the statement you were making at the end about Justice League, the one you guys have to watch is Zack Snyders Justice League. That is the ORIGINAL movie we were SUPPOSED to get. But back in 2017, Zack's daughter committed suicide and he stepped away from the movie as they were finishing up production. As a result, the studio brought in Joss Whedon (who directed the first Avengers movie) to finish the movie. Instead of giving us what Zack had, Joss Whedon and the studio gutted the movie and reshot most of it. Zack's movie is 4 hours long and the movie we got in 2017 was 2 hours and some change. They are two totally different films, from the tone to the writing, and to the cinematography. The one that came out in theaters is known as Josstice League due to how horrible it was. DC's universe never recovered after that because so many fans gave up on the universe when Zack stepped away. In 2021, the studio allowed Zack to release his original version, hence why it is called the Snyder Cut. It is arguably one of the best superhero movies made according to fans and critics. And when you guys watch it, please do NOT watch the bs one that came out as it will literally make you mad lol.

I don't think if Zack Snyder could have finished his work they would have let him release a 4 hour movie in theaters. A too long movie reduce the number of spectacle. And, honestly, I don't know how many people have the wish (and the time) to spend 4 hour (and more) in a cinema. That means that the longer the movie is the higer the chances are to sell less tickets. Don't forget that Snyder had to (and agreed to) reduce BvS of half an hour. To be honest, DC's universe never recovered after that chaos, but Snyder too damaged the starpower of this franchise. I really like his movies (ZSJL a little bit less), but the results wasn't good. Even if BvS had a good box office, the audience reaction make WB going out of mind, which caused the heavy modifications to "Suicide Squad" and the huge changing of "Justice League". I don't know about critics, but there are a lot of not good movies ("Mortal Kombat" and "Wonder Woman 1984" especially) to ave been viewed more than ZSJL on Max. The success of Snyder works on DC is really overrated in some places of the net.

  • @mobilegamer8922

    @mobilegamer8922

    11 ай бұрын

@@barbaciante and you can think that. I beg to differ. If BvS was never cut up by the studio, that movie would have had better reviews as the ultimate edition's extra 30 mins of footage really filled the plot holes that the theatrical one created. And as you see in the Snyder cut, the BvS ultimate edition is directly tied to it. What we got before was a BvS that lacked explanation to things and then a Justice league movie that didn't continue from that in even the slightest. Whereas with Zacks work being untouched, we see BvS make sense, we see a tease at Steppenwolf and Darkseid, which both appear in Zacks Justice League. The consistency is literally there from MoS, to BvS, to Wonder Woman, to ZSJL. The movies that began to push people away and ruin DC's brand was Josstice League, WW84, and the terrible version of suicide squad that we got. Also, had the Snyder cut came out when it was originally planned, it easily would have been a billion dollar film. That was a time when Superhero Fatigue wasn't a thing and fans didn't care how long a movie was if it was something they wanted to see. There are successful comic book movies that are over 3 hours long (The Batman, Endgame for example). Also, the reality is, while movies can have great reviews, what really tells of a films success is the $$$ and the numbers don't lie. When Zack was in charge, the DCEU was bringing in more money than Marvel movie for movie. Every DCEU movie he worked on, (Directed and Produced) made a profit whereas every single DCEU movie made after he left has flopped, all except Aquaman.

@@mobilegamer8922 The problem with our speculation is that we can't have a counterfactual. You say that DC films starts to fall after Snyder and it can be. You're talking with someone who consider the first two DCEU films also the best two of this saga, by far. But at the same time I think that Snyder has responsibilities too. When you don't like a movie, you have paid for it but you won't pay for its sequel. I would have let Snyder finish his job because I liked MoS and BvS, because I like him and to see his JL box office. But I think it would have been his end anyway. I saw many people who didn't like those movies and who watched the extended BvS didn't appreciated it. Even if I liked those movies, I can't ignore their defects whose make me think reasonable the fact that many people didn't like Snyder works. About the lenght, I agree with you and your examples. Indeed, I was talking about 4 hour length, wich I think is unnecessary (there were many scenes in ZSJL that could have been easily reduced without changing the movie, and maybe increasing its quality). I don't think there is anyone among producers who think that a 4 hour movie for cinema is a good idea (The Irishman was a Netflix movie), with some exceptions ... maybe the final film of a successful saga. But JL was just the beginning. You say that fans would stay 4 hours for a movie they like. I would do it. But fans are a too small portion of the people necessary to make money. MoS dind't make more money than Marvel films at the time. That year it performed a little bit better that "Thor: The Dark World". In his time, BvS box office was better only than "Doctor Strange" and "Ant-Man". I may have miss a couple of movies.

  • @mobilegamer8922

    @mobilegamer8922

    11 ай бұрын

@@barbaciante okay I can agree with most of what you just said here. When I said DC had made more money movie for movie I meant in regards to the point of where each was at in it's Universe. For example, MoS, the first movie in the DCEU, made way more than Iron Man, the first movie in the MCU. I will agree that Snyder is a visualizer first, writer second. While I personally font have a problem with any of the scripts he gave us, I can understand why people may not agree with how he did things. For me, I've always read comics and Snyders visual style really is meant to pull pages from the books and put them on the screen. And for me, that allows me to focus less on the writing simply because I'm always amazed with some of his scenes. I ultimately think the best route would have been to bring back Snyder AND Nolan but give Nolan more of a directing role but somehow allow Zack to have his team bring it to life. While I can understand why they're not finishing his Saga, I think most would agree he should at least finish it then have a full reboot so even his hardest fans would be happy. As long as Snyder has his firm fan base, no DCU movie will make every dollar that it potentially can because it will always be missing some from that group whether that's a lot or a little.

One of my favorite movies. I like how naive she is to the real world and how people really are. She's under this impression that people are these innocent, perfect beings who have been "corrupted" by Ares. In the end she finds out we don't need to be influenced by a god to do evil deeds, we are capable of doing it on our own. That was a sad scene to watch when she had that breakdown and just gave up after the reality of how humans really are. Zeus, the main Greek god and Ares and Diana's father, one of his favorite weapons was lightning and his two offspring used it in their final fight. Strange coincidence that Diana's god powers started to manifest on the same day that Steve crashes on her island. 🤔

More light hearted, comical and colorful then the previous DCEU films and yet it's an amazing cbm that end up dragging in the third act imo. What this movie does very well is to make you care for the characters, mostly Diana and Steve, and you really feel his death in the third act. I think the problem with the ending is that Ares being responsible for the war is lame instead to show that the problem with the world are the humans, they're flawed, imperfect, selfish and some, evil by nature. The action in other hand is really awesome throughout the whole film. All of them are exciting and the No Man's Land is one of the most memorable moments in any super hero movie. Gal may not be a great actress but WW fits her perfectly, she's extremely charismatic in the role

It's obvious now that Zack Snyder and his team directed ALL the action sequences with musical cues and had a big hand in the story arch and plot points. The DCU was his entire vision at that time along with Christopher Nolan to jump start the universe. Patty Jenkins was brought in as a director for hire who was well over her head, but they wanted a female director for political reasons. But the trench run over no man's land: all Snyder and his crew. This becomes painfully evident when Patty Jenkins gets total creative control for the second Wonder Woman: 1984. Behind the scenes she fired all of Zack Snyder's team that helped her with the first film, they WERE the first film, and she hired her own crew who were first timer effects houses in over their head, her hack second unit directors and new stunt coordinators who didn't know how to direct action. You know who else doesn't know how to direct action or edit it? Patty Jenkins. You know who else isn't a writer but wrote the sequel herself? Patty Jenkins. Zack Snyder and his team wrote out the story for the first one and know world building. They also know how to write a strong woman character without having to shit on the male protagonist while doing it. Steve Trevor is a flawed man, but a great war hero. A great character and written beautifully. Now in today's Marvel, DC, Disney, Steve would be a bumbling idiot moron incompetent with everything he did where women would be having to eye roll while saving him at every turn and Wonder Woman would be proclaiming every twenty minutes how she don't need no man with bad CGI around her. And that would pass for female empowerment cinema. It does pass for female empowerment cinema now. How fast the matriarch has fallen with the wrong activist man-hating bigoted matriarch in charge today. I can't believe this perfect superherione masterpiece was recent history. It feels like a million years ago now because of the current state of Hollywood and these activists over entertainment crusade that has ruined the one true escape we all had and that was the escapism of the movies. These pretenders to the throne had to fuck that up for us too. Wonder Woman 2 is hot trash. Patty Jenkins on her press tour trashed the studio brass for holding her back on the first film but this one is her true vision, all her. And it is the worst super hero film second only possibly since X:3. The sheer hubris, audacity, arrogance and cluelessness to make such a bold misguided claim in shaming the people who actually got you the film you ghost directed for an agenda and the cold hard truth that they saved your ass and actually directed the best parts you now trash and then to brag about the movie you actually did have a hand in directing and total creative control over that is absolutely horrible amateur hour crap start to finish, top to bottom and one of the most notorious worst sequels ever made following up a genuine masterpiece. The drop off in quality is like the equivalent of riding the Drop Zone ride at Great America but if it was shitty direction from an out of touch self absorbed Hollywood phoney. Patty Jenkins is a complete fraud. She set the woman's cinematic movement back forty years with WW:1984. I adore the first one. Gal Godot is getting a raw deal right now in the latest James Gunn led DCU. James Gunn, another horrible human being. At least we got one truly great Wonder Woman film. I just wanted to warn you and let you know what's what on the reals. Glad you appreciated this opus. It's what a woman's empowerment super movie can truly be. I get chills every time I see it.

This movie was a homerun, but she didn't hit it out of the park with the sequel.

This movie was the first in a while to actually make me cry, when Wonder Woman convinces the Scottish man with PTSD to stay with them, not because his ability to kill people--the thing that has him upset--makes him useful, but because she likes his singing voice. She was probably the first person in years to acknowledge him for something other than his ability to commit death. The look of relief on his face made me break down in the theater, it was just such a kind thing for her to do and was very "Wonder Woman".

I do recommend watching Shazam! (2019) and the The Suicide Squad (2021) for very different tones on the DC universe. Shazam! is much more light hearted and just a really fun film that relates to our inner child. While The Suicide Squad is just a crazy James Gunn directed ride through a classic 1980s inspired action film. There's also the Suicide Squad (2016) releasing the same year as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice but it's pretty mixed. There's elements I liked and others I didn't but you could check it out. There is a directed cut from my understanding but it's never been released but I hear James Gunn who now is the head of DC Studios is open to the Suicide Side Directors cut. The Suicide Squad (2021) is also a soft reboot so you don't have to watch the first Suicide Squad to understand anything, first film is still regarded as canon though so it's not a full reboot. These act as a fun contrast to the overly dark Justice League films, even though I personally think that Batman shouldn't been the only character with this tone. Wonder Woman set in WW1 makes sense but they couldn't went all in on a classic WW1 film feel to give it a unique tone but that would be suited more for WW2. And Batman of course had a perfect tone throughout all these film it's just the matter of the tone being applied to all the Justice League characters. The Suicide Squad (2016) even suffers from this as well instead of going all crazy it has a very Zack tone.

Superman's Powers and Abilities The powers of the DC Comics character Superman have changed a great deal since his introduction in the 1930s. As the character developed, his abilities were enhanced in order to maintain the interest of his audience. The extent of his powers peaked during the 1970s and 80's, to the point where it became difficult to create suitable challenges for the character. As a result, his powers were significantly reduced when his story was rebooted by writer John Byrne after the Crisis on Infinite Earths series. After Byrne's departure, Superman's powers were gradually increased again, although he still remains weaker than his Pre-Crisis incarnation. Golden Age Superman As presented in the original 1930's comic strip, Superman's powers were indigenous to those of all Kryptonians. In the origin stories of the comic books and comic strip, Kryptonians were shown using the same powers that Superman would have on Earth. Later, Krypton's larger size and gravity was given as an explanation for the character's powers. Silver/Bronze Age (Pre-Crisis) Superman Superman's powers were enhanced and added to from the 1940s until the mid-eighties. His powers were explained as a result of two factors: the comparatively weaker gravity of Earth, and the intensity of Earth's yellow sun. As such, Superman's powers were negated if he entered an environment similar to that of Krypton, such as the bottle city of Kandor, or if he was exposed to the solar energy of a red sun. In Silver Age stories, the powers and limitations of Superman were instantly possessed by any Kryptonians exposed to Earth or Earth-like conditions. Individuals from the planet Daxam, such as Mon-El, possessed identical powers, but were invulnerable to Kryptonite and highly susceptible to lead poisoning. Post-Crisis When the Superman character was revised by John Byrne shortly after Crisis on Infinite Earths, it was decided to place restrictions on his abilities. This was designed to make it easier for writers to come up with suitable challenges for the hero, and to eliminate or reduce those powers that had become too sensational or unbelievable for modern audiences. Emphasis was placed on yellow sun energy as a source for the character's powers. Superman's origin story was altered so that his powers developed gradually as his body absorbed yellow sunlight, and stories such as the Final Night series depicted the character gradually losing his powers when deprived of the sun's energy. When Superman's reserves of solar energy were depleted, as in Infinite Crisis or the Death of Superman story arcs, he required an extended period of time under a yellow sun, or some type of artificial solar enhancement in order to recharge. Power Reduction Superman's strength was reduced to the point where he could still move tremendous amounts, but the character no longer had the ability to move planets. His speed was also reduced so that he could not exceed the speed of light. While still capable of surviving a nuclear explosion, such events would severely weaken him. Superman's sight, stamina and breath powers were also similarly reduced, and the character was also shown as requiring an oxygen mask for prolonged travel in space or underwater. His mental abilities were also curtailed to the point where intelligent humans, like geniuses Lex Luthor or Batman, could possibly outsmart him. The powers of super-ventriloquism and super-hypnosis were not generally used during this period, although it was never stated whether they had been eliminated or not. Modern Era After Byrne's departure from the series, Superman's powers and abilities were once again increased over time. He regained the ability to travel interstellar distances and to hold his breath for the amount of time required to make such journeys. His strength, speed, and sensory abilities were again increased, although not to Pre-Crisis levels. The comparative weakness of the Superman character to his Pre-Crisis incarnation was definitively shown during Infinite Crisis. The Superboy-Prime character, endowed with nearly the same power levels as the Silver Age Superman, was capable of defeating large numbers of DC universe heroes, including the Teen Titans and many members of theGreen Lantern Corps. The Modern Era Superman and his Earth 2 counterpart were only able to defeat Superboy-Prime after plunging him through Krypton's red sun, thereby reducing his powers.

Superman's Powers and Abilities Comparative strength While Superman is frequently assumed to be the strongest hero in the DC universe, following the Byrne reboot, his strength tends to fluctuate depending on the amount of solar energy his cells have absorbed and the writer of the particular story. He has received a temporary boost in power after surviving a plunge into the Sun, and has had his powers depleted when deprived of such energy. The limits of how much energy Superman can absorb, and by extension the maximum limits of his power, has never been stated. Additionally, because of the solar energy that empowers him, he has often been depicted as being potentially immortal, as well as having a different ageing process, as seen in the Grant Morrison written series set in the far future of the DC Universe, DC One Million. The canonicity of this series is unknown. Characters such as Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter have been described variously over time as equals, at least equal (possibly superior), or, in the last case, even superior. Captain Marvel has been able to knock him out with 1-2 punches by taking him by surprise, and Superman has stated outright that the latter has the advantage in a fist-fight due to his magic-derived powers. When the Modern Era Supergirl was introduced, it was suspected that she was stronger than her cousin, but this was due to the fact that Superman had learned to restrain his strength through years of living with weaker individuals, an ability that Kara Zor-El had not yet learned. It is important to note that while Superman is among the strongest DC heroes, there are many who match his strength, most notably Darkseid, Bizarro, Lobo, the Cyborg Superman, Eradicator, the original Mongul, General Zod and Black Adam, while Doomsday and Despero have occasionally been shown as stronger, the former being able to effortlessly stand his ground against the entire Justice League, and the latter defeating Superman, Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, and Power Girl at the same time. Heroes and villains with magical capabilities, like the Spectre, Zatanna, and Doctor Fate, have displayed cosmic level power vastly beyond Superman's capabilities. The Flash possesses the ability to travel at the speed of light, shunting his mass towards infinity, and enabling him to perform such feats as defeating a white martian with one punch, or almost overcoming the Anti-Monitor singlehandedly. Hal Jordan, with the will-fueled power of the Green Lantern ring, has also been cited as being a match for Superman, being able to lay him down with one punch while possessed by Parallax. The Guardians of the Universe allegedly possess abilities dwarfing those of regular Green Lantern Corps members. Kyle Rayner, inhabited by the benevolent symbiote "Ion", was recently touted as the most powerful of Earth's superheroes. Maxima, has many powers such as telepathy and psi-bolts that have knocked out Orion, who is on equal footing to Superman, effortlessly. She also possesses Matter Manipulation, Telekinesis, and possession abilities that would make her a threat to the entire Justice League. Maxima also can hold her own against Doomsday in strength and can increase her physicallity to infinite levels. One villain that is often portrayed as vastly superior to Superman in every way is the five-dimensional entity Mr. Mxyzptlk. While the limits and nature of Mxyzptlk's powers is unclear, he is often portrayed as being, for all practical purposes, 'omnipotent,' and his encounters with Superman often amount to him simply toying with the Man of Steel. _________ Superman (Clark Kent) Weaknesses Kryptonian Physiology: Under the effects of a "yellow" sun, Superman possesses the same potential weaknesses as an average Kryptonian. These include: Vulnerability to Kryptonite Vulnerability to Magic Solar Energy Dependency: Kryptonian abilities will eventually weaken without replenishing their energy reserves with normal (yellow) sun radiation. When exposed to the same red solar radiation as Krypton's red sun Rao, it causes Kryptonians to lose their powers within a large amount of exposure until exposure to yellow sunlight reverses this effect. When exposed to orange solar radiation from a different galaxy, Superman's strength and abilities will drastically diminished, eventually weakening him. The radiation also affects his intellectual capacity and reduces his ability to think. Sensory Overload: With his extremely acute senses, Superman can be overtaxed to the point of pain when encountered by extreme external stimuli such as hypersonics (hearing), balance, sight (flash bang). Radiation Poisoning: Superman was exposed to deadly radiation during his encounter with the aliens from the Breach, causing him to rapidly age. He slowed the progression of his condition via regular infusions of rejuvanating magic from Enchantress, but this was undone by a sorceress working for Mongul. Power Limitation: Superman's sickness has caused his powers to fade and weaken. Although still significantly stronger than a human he is less powerful than an average healthy Kryptonian.

Superman Super-Strength Superman has the ability to physically lift impossibly massive amounts of weight. Superman's strength easily surpasses the Class 100 strength level (this is the ability to lift over 100 tons under normal conditions) which is the ability to lift in excess of 100 tons with little effort at all, and has no known limit. Superman's strength is aided in lifting/supporting the most massive objects--especially when flying--by the bio-electric force field his body produces. His strength is usually portrayed the same way as most other characters in the Class 100 tier, but his high-end showings indicate his might may be well in excess of planetary levels. While the limits of Superman's strength vary from writer to writer, he is commonly considered in-universe to be one of the most powerful beings on Earth, with some even considering him to be the most powerful. The problem is Superman is dependent on solar radiation. If you drain solar radiation his strength drops. He needs to recharge his powers. Black Adam New 52 / DC Rebirth Powers Supernatural Strength: Black Adam has the strength of the Gods, making him far stronger than any human and most superhumans and putting him on equal terms with the likes of Superman and Ultraman. His most impressive demonstration of strength shows when he along with Sinestro, moved Prime Earth's moon [roughly 73,430,000,000,000,000,000 tonnes] back into orbit suggesting he has near limitless strength. As such Teth Adam can easily lift and toss around vehicles and take full-grown men apart limb from limb and physically dismantle battle attested rigs like tanks or army jeeps with little to no effort. Knocking around Ultraman and a mystically empowered Alex Luther around with a punch with moderate exertion, though his upper limits are still undisclosed. Ultraman is not the only Superman-level threat Adam's dealt with, either. When he was a Yellow Lantern, he managed to punch the spit out of a superior, amped Mongul. And once his ring was charged an extra hundred percent, they were placed on even ground and Adam pummeled him with ease. In Doomsday Clock, it was implied that Adam punched Superman through multiple buildings and down a street. Wonder Woman Her level of super strength (as granted to her by Demeter) is comparable to that of the Earth itself (as this is where she derives her powers). She is on the same strength level with the strongest other DC’s characters including Superman and Captain Marvel. Thus, she is capable of lifting/carrying thousands of tons with minimal effort. It is generally accepted that she is a notch below Superman. Wonder Woman was even able to take on Powergirl in a hand to hand fight while trying to free her from mind-control. Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel were an even match when they fought. On one occasion she even used her massive strength to move the Earth (though this was under duress and aided by Superman and the Martian Manhunter.) With the launch of the new 52 Wonder Woman showed a new strength level while fighting a God, she removes her bracelets and goes into a "berzerker rage" of power, which originally allegorical to a person losing control to their destructive Ego. We then find out that Wonder Woman's bracelets are what protects her opponents from her intense power. Wonder Woman had a quick match with Supergirl where we found out that they are close in strength, Wonder Woman over powered Supergirl with her bracelets still on. Martian Manhunter Super Strength - Martian Manhunter is one of the strongest heroes on Earth, with strength comparable to Superman. J'onn along with Superman was able to move one of Brainiac's ships away from Earth; the ship in question dwarfed the planet with its size and was hurtling towards the Earth at 36,000 miles/hour. J'onn has also shattered Earth's moon with his strength. Supergirl Super Strength: The exact magnitude of Supergirl's strength is unknown, she was easily able to knock down armored weaponized robots only with minimal strain and when she hits Superman, it actually hurts him and he notes that he's never been hit that hard before. She can lift 100 tons with minimal effort. Icon Superhuman Strength: Icon possesses vast strength due to the maximization of his DNA and alien heritage. He can lift over 100 tons effortlessly. Due to his alien heritage and the maximization of his potential as a human being, he has near limitless strength shown to at least be equal to Superman. At one point, he punched Superman out of the Watchtower 50ft into space. Later, Superman admitted that nobody including Darkseid EVER hit him that hard. Billy Batson H for Hercules H is for the strength of Hercules, strongest of the gods. Billy is empowered with Hercules' nearly limitless superhuman-strength which is often compared to that of Superman. As such, Captain Marvel's strength is of the highest level and is sufficiently vast enough that it enables him to lift/move unbelievably massive and/or heavy objects possibly on a planetary scale or higher with little effort. Superhuman Strength: Captain Marvel has the ability to lift well over 100 tons with minimal effort and has battled top tier beings such as Superman, Wonder Woman and Black Adam. Captain Marvel has stalemated Superman in an arm wrestling contest and has at least matched Wonder Woman in raw strength. The limits, if there actually are any, of Captain Marvel's strength are unknown. New 52 Supernatural Strength: The Wizard told Billy that he has the strength of a 'demigod' which makes him far stronger than any human and makes him equal with the likes of other demigods like Hercules. He has demonstrated his strength by lifting vehicles with little to no effort and pushed a man several meters before he crashed into a car while he said he never meant to hit him that hard, and knocking Superman and Wonder Woman down with a punch (though they stood up later). His upper limit are still unknown. Pedro Peña is suppose to be stronger then shazam from what i read and heard a few years ago. One of the kids that together fuse in Captain Thunder. Pedro is given the strength of Hercules and is one of the six members of the S!H!A!Z!A!M! team Mary Marvel In the golden age pre-Crisis stories Mary’s powers come from a different group of gods than Billy’s. Mary’s powers are from a group of goddesses (these are depicted as goddesses even though all are not - Zephyrus is a male, and Hippolyate is not divine): Hippolyta, for great Strength In post Crisis stories they come from the same group of heroes and in fact share the power, so that when both are transformed they are at half strength (though they are so powerful this is of mostly negligible importance): Hercules, for great Strength H is for the strength of Hercules, depicted as strongest of the gods. Mary is empowered with Hercules' nearly limitless superhuman-strength which is often compared to and rivals that of Superman. As such, Mary Marvel's strength is of the highest level and is sufficiently vast enough that it enables her to lift/move unbelievably massive and/or heavy objects possibly on a planetary scale or higher with little effort. Mary often attempts to use only as much force as is necessary so is not often seen moving objects of a planetary scale accomplishing such tasks are well within her abilities.

Mary often attempts to use only as much force as is necessary so is not often seen moving objects of a planetary scale accomplishing such tasks are well within her abilities.

Patty Jenkins was mainly known for doing TV series, though she did make Monster with Charlize Theron in the early 2Ks. The director you might be thinking of when you brought up Hunger Games, as far as a female director and a movie starting with an H might be Kathryn Bigelow who directed The Hurt Locker.

Wonder Woman was my mom's greatest comic hero when she was a little girl in the 1950s. She passed away before this film came out. She would have loved it.

Unrelated to the video itself, but I have to say, you two make an amazing couple. It's those situations where you're happy to see others happy. And on top of that, you remind us of the genuine pleasure of watching these films for the first time. Happy to have parachuted here (I hope you have that expression). A hug from Brazil.

I think that WW couldn't return to the Island is more that once she left her destiny was to help the world. Not that she wasn't allowed to return, just that she is needed elsewhere. Great reaction. This is a great movie. I agree that WW is in the same powerful range as Superman.

25:23 Well, Thor is a God and not a Demi-God. Remember that he is the son of Odin and Freya (In the MCU at least), and both are Gods. More specifically, there is 3 groups of Gods in Norse mythology: Dísir, Vanir, and Æsir. And even in the MCU (At least I think), Odin is still a Æsir, and Freya is a Vanir, but I don't know what Thor is considered in the MCU. In the Norse mythology, his real mother is Jörd, a Æsir like Odin. So by default Thor is also a Æsir. And if we continue by the Norse mythology, Thor is supposed to be the strongest God (Physically at least, but even in therms of powers he is damn strong). So Thor is supposedly a lot stronger than Wonder Woman, at least if we talk about Thor from a mythological perspective, I know a lot more about Norse mythology than the comics. And from what I've seen between the MCU and the DCU (So without taking comics in consideration), Thor seems to be indeed stronger than her in many ways. But not as clever as her XD

Why she was apologizing after she blasted energy during her training? Really? You have to ask? She used her powers by reflex and did not know it would strike so hard, and she had no intention of killing her tutor. It was a training session, man. Otherwise, good comments. Glad you liked it.

The whole film pays homage to the Wonder Woman series of the 70s, The first season title sequence has a song with the lyrics "Turn a hawk into a dove, win a war with love." The whole narritive was set for her to only use violence when she had not other choice.

Actually the script and picking the cast for this movie and also post production and editing all was done by Zack Snyder. He picked Patty Jenkins to help him give a woman’s perspective to the most iconic female superhero character in comic book lore. Zack also was hands on to help Patty Jenkins with the directing. Since the movie was well recurved Patty Jenkins asked to go solo on the next Wonder Woman movie which was Wonder Woman 84. Patty Jenkins wrote the script and directed without any involvement by Zack Snyder. The changes Patty Jenkins made for her Wonder Woman movie is that she got rid of the Shield and Sword which she felt were not needed and to promote woman’s empowerment by showing that a woman could beat the bad guys without a weapon so in the movie she only uses the rope. Another thing she did was marvelize the color grading of the movie and of Womder Woman’s outfit/suit which was make the gold parts more golden and shiny and the red and blue colors brighter and more colorful. And the strangest thing she did was wrote the script with something I can’t say or it will spoil the movie but it’s not only weird but deeply disturbing. And the most important thing in my opinion Patty Jenkins wants to feminize Wonder Woman while at the same time adding more gifts to her powers. Needless to say I didn’t like the changes and didn’t like that movie.

Here's a little fun fact for you two Wonder Woman... Was molded out of clay and they're also was another woman molded out of brown clay. Her name is Nubia. She's the black Wonder Woman basically. She doesn't get noticed very much or a much shine but she's ever bit of amazing as Wonder Woman. She is known as Wonder woman's fraternal twin. Wonder Woman is extremely strong She is up there with Superman in strength level.... Although Superman obviously is the top of all heroes in terms of power. If you guys do dress up like them you have to post a picture so we all can see!

The amazons are superhuman and immortal, so Diana is not a demigod which is part human and part god. She’s in between demigodgod, or she’s a god. At least that’s my theory. But she is unanimously considered a demi-goddess in common belief which in my opinion doesn’t make sense because we already established that demigods are half human(mortal).

because Diana was destined to kill Ares after he destroyed olympus Zeus gave her a gift from each god, so she has the beauty of Aphrodite, the speed of Hermes etc. Being the children of Zeus, Diana and Ares can manipulate lightning, so it was really cool to see him use it against her and in the end Diana using it to kill him, because it's like she understood that she is Zeus daughter, that she is a goddess, she finally knows who she really is and even called Ares her brother! iconic

In the comics, Wonder Woman is actually almost as strong as Superman. And because she is one of the greatest fighters in the universe and a true warrior it's believed in a 1v1 she would usually win a fight.. Now there are versions of Superman that can literally throw planets easily... but most variations of Superman aren't quite THAT strong.

Suggestion: You should spring for two sets of headphones. By sharing a single pair, you're each missing out on half the sound mix. You're only getting half the sound effects and half the instruments in the music score. You might even be missing out on lines of dialogue if they're exclusively on the right or left.

It's ironic that, growing up, DC was always the brighter, sillier universe, compared to Marvel. That didn't lessen its quality, it was just different. The DC universe was always defined by the first two Superman movies staring Christopher Reeve, which you guys should ABSOLUTELY check out, and the animated content from Bruce Timm, which I would also highly recommend. The director of this movie, Patty Jenkins did a film called "Monster", starring Charlize Theron, and a mini series on TNT with Chris Pine called "I am the Night", that I hear is very good. Enjoy!

The reason why there’s two versions of The Justice League is because during filming, Zach Snyder’s daughter committed suicide. So he had to leave to be with his family. But instead of waiting for him, they brought in Joss Whedon to finish it. It was shit. So millions of people found out, and started thousands of petitions to release Zach’s version. It’s been released and it’s an AMAZING movie.
