M'Baku as character is great. He challenges T'Challa when nobody else does. When T'chall beats him fair and square he holds no grudge. Even when offered power of Black Panther he refuses without thinking. M'Baku is truly a warrior of great honor. He doesn't preach about honor, he lives by it and acts by it.

Another one that I've been looking forward to the two of you getting to. 😊 RIP always to Chadwick Boseman!!! 💜 I love this movie so much! So many great things about this film: the incredible cast, the costumes, the location sets, the music, the visual effects, and storyline. Before the passing of Chadwick Boseman T'Challa's line "and as you can see, I am not dead" didn't phase me much. But since he passed away in 2020 that line hits a lot harder. 😢 The fact that he was dealing with the cancer and doing his treatment while filming these movies shows what a strong person he was. Up next is the one that I'm sure all or most of us have been waiting for: "Avengers: Infinity War". Looking forward to the next reaction! 😊

As a third culture kid and amateur anthropologist, I love the depth they went into to portray the tribes and cultures of Wakanda. After seeing the movie for the first time I went home and started flipping through my books to see where the inspirations came from.
It's a funny coincidence that the title of this video says Black Panther was made for Chadwick....The role of Black Panther was offered to Chadwick and only Chadwick. Kevin Feige said in a interview he saw him in the movie 42 and was so impressed and that's who he wanted to play T'Challa so he never held auditions he just offered him the role.
Killmonger becomes the Golden Jaguar with the gold necklace
The actor who played the young T'Chaka at the start of the movie was played by Atandwa Kani, who is the son of John Kani who played the elder T'Chaka.

Well, about the waterfalls: it is a mixture of CGI with real footage from a place of my country, Brazil, called Cataratas do Iguaçu (something like Iguaçu Falls or Iguaçu Waterfalls in english). They used real footage of those waterfalls for the movie. In Infinity War they also used a real brazilian location for the planet Vormir, where Thanos get the soul stone, the Lençóis Maranhenses (or Maranhão Sheets), a desert-like formation that accumulates rain water and it's an unique landscape of basically a desert with a bunch of lakes in the middle.
Y'all are here to find out why Okoye is my favorite female hero in the MCU. That girl reeks of power and has zero super powers, just pure badass and vibranium. Massive props to Danai Gurira, who does such a wonderful job playing these women who are insanely strong characters with a lot of range. Loved her as Michonne in the walking dead, even though I couldn't watch any more of that show after like 5 or 6 seasons.
@tofu_golem

As an old comic book dork, it fills my heart with joy that normal non-comic book people even know who Okoye is. And yes, she is amazing. All of the Dora Milaje are. I love this interpretation of her character. Proper Marvel heroes have flaws. Okoye is so dedicated to tradition that she was willing to plunge the world into war to protect it even though T'Challa is like a brother to her.
Fun Fact: Chadwick Boseman originally auditioned for Drax.

If you wanna know how different (“good” different) this movie is, ask someone who the villain is: T’Chaka & Zuri? Klaue? N’Jobu? N’Jadaka (Killmonger)? T’Challa? M’Baku & the Jabari? W’Kabi & the Border Tribe? Maybe each one of them are at some point in the movie. @@JoveJoved Ouch - it’s nearly unfathomable how one could watch that entire film & come up with this take. *_”He had no legitimacy to his actions outside of selfishness.”_* 🤨 He wasn’t being selfish when dedicating his entire life, free will & freeDOM to the United States in whatever militaristic fashion they deemed. He wasn’t being selfish when exercising his blood right to challenge for the mantle(s) of King & Black Panther -> the same opportunity every single tribe was recently afforded & the same opportunity every family member of legitimate royal blood was recently presented with. He wasn’t being selfish when planning to arm & empower those being mistreated by higher powers in their particular lands - esPECIALLY those with an extensive history of it. Outside of becoming King (which we’ve already proven to be his natural, inalienable birthright), none of the other actions directly & solely benefited him with the purpose simply being out of selfishness. And you missed the “bondage” analogy by 10 miles, but the tone of your comment kinda evidences why. It sucks that you missed out on enjoying an absolutely phenomenal production based on prior personal prejudices. . .but here’s hoping you enjoyed Infinity War & Endgame!✊🏽✌🏽

Chadwick Boseman was in that Captain America movie for only a few minutes, and yet from that moment on, whenever I read a comic book with Black Panther in it, I heard Boseman's voice in my head. I think that is a measure of how powerful his performance was.
For infinity war, better have tissues. All the movies you have seen leads to this moment
Yes, Klaue is Andy Serkis, who also played Smeagle in LOTR. She nailed that. He's also in the Star Wars universe as multiple characters, Alfred in the new Batman movies, and played Ceasar in the newer Planet of the Apes movies. Awesome actor and very versatile. Also with Bucky, remember Shuri said earlier in the movie "another broken white boy to fix." There was the other one haha.
22:26 My own guess apart from what Ross said later about it being part of his training when he was a black operative for the CIA is that it's because he's frightened of the thought of losing his title of king to anyone, he's frightened of death and of the idea being replaced and he's frightened at the thought of being a father because of his ongoing trauma with his own fathers death. And in the way we do sometimes when we're frightened he's trying to get rid of what to him symbolises his fear, by burning the herbs. Also it's a good way to call back to what's supposed to be an African proverb though no one seems to know where in the continent of Africa it's supposed to come from: "A child who is not accepted by its village will burn it down just to feel its warmth."
I like how certain gadgets compliment the cat moniker: 1) the sound-absorbing shoes that allow for stealth and 2) the whole vibranium suit that can absorb shock, not only allowing him to withstand bullets but also falls from great heights, thus adding to the whole "cats land on their feet" trope
Fantastic movie and such a powerful performance by Chadwick. His legacy will forever live on. This entire cast really delivered. Love Winston Duke ❤
Andy Serkis plays Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther. But he also played Gollum in the LOTR trilogies, and the monkey Caesar in the Planet of the Apes trilogies. Such an award winning, multitalented actor.

I loved what you said about the Marvel casting, led by Sarah Halley Finn. There are about 70 roles that were cast almost perfectly in the MCU...an incredibly impressive run from Robert Downey Jr. to Chris Evans to Hemsworth to Chadwick Bozeman to Josh Brolin as Thanos. I literally CANNOT imagine other actors in all of these roles. Great reaction -- I've enjoyed watching these films again with you!

Yes there were some inconsistencies with how vibranium was portrayed absorbing (or failing to absorb) kinetic energy. However this issue wasn't unique to Black Panther, the same thing occasionally happened with scenes of Captain America's shield in the Avengers and his solo movies. When Killmonger encountered T'Challa in the alley after breaking Klaue out of CIA custody, that RPG shouldn't have sent T'Challa flying backwards, that energy should have been absorbed. We just seen him cover a grenade a few moments earlier and he wasn't propelled up into the ceiling, his suit just absorbed that explosion. I suppose they could have been trying to show that T'Challa's suit was temporarily unable to absorb more energy (vibranium does have a limit) but that would a ridiculously low threshold and inconsistent with what we saw before and after. Really it's just a case of the scene calling for Killmonger to escape, so the directors/writers momentarily ignored how the suit should have worked. Just like therer were scenes in Civil War and Winter Soldier where rocket attacks sent Cap flying and/or separated him from his shield. And technically it wouldn't richochet off other surfaces when Cap throws it, if the shield was absorbing kinetic energy.
FUN FACT: In the comics, T'Challa and Tony Stark were going at it to see whose tech was better. Iron Man made so many new armors to try to compete because Wakanda tech was more advanced!
The museum they showed in the beginning is actually The High Museum here in Atlanta
Please do infinity war and endgame in 2 parts, both movies have really good scenes and are very big to the story line, I really love your videos too 😁
Always cracks me up how slow they have to speak Zulu & Xhosa coz the words are a bit tough to pronounce. Native speakers speak those languages much more rapid fire & smooth. But I love how they tried to incorporate the languages into the films.
17:32 I mean both Bilbo and Bucky made massive sacrifices in the service of wakandans that led to them being healed by wakandan tech…so maybe shuri just do your job..? Not hard to not refer to the guy who took a bullet for your friend as “another broken white boy”
Fun fact: The actor that play Ulysses Klaue is the same actor that motion captures for Gollum in LOTR trilogy.
