We Drove 1 Mile per £1 We Spent (24 Hour Road Trip)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video, Jack and Ethan are take on an exciting automotive challenge where we have to purchase a cheap car and road trip it as far as it costs us in only 24 hours. If we end up in a £1000 BMW, we have to drive it 1000 miles in only 24 hours. We'll go all across the country to get the mileage done including places like the Brecon Beacons Nation Park, and even Wrexham football club. Can we complete the challenge in the time allotted?

To think in old top gear challenges they could get an old porsche for under £1500 and now a 25 year old clio is £800!

I've owned one of those Clio's, exactly the same spec and year. Worst car ever! It had very very comprehensive history but still needed regular fixing. I bought it for £600, spent about £500 in repairs (all work done myself) then ditched it a year later. I got a Honda Accord after that for the same price, same age and mileage. What a difference! Like going from a bicycle to a limo 😂 I kept that for 4 years fault free besides replacing the rear exhaust and she still drive like new, sold it to a friend for £300 who drove it for 3 years before the power steering failed.

Nice to see a bit of Wales on here. Much nicer than the usual trips around England on here
You literally drove through the only part of Wales I've walked. Awesome to see it's still there. Got to love pre-1995 French cars though. 5, Clio, Twingo, 9, 11, 19, 21, 25, it was an awesome time for French 'light footed' comfort. And yes, they eat wheelbearings and c-joints. Would have definitely gone B-roads with that though. Love the Clio! By far one of the Car Throttle cars I liked best so far. Good adventure too!
@kylekaye9147

Well said. Any pre 2000 French car you can't go wrong
This video really bought back first car vibes, my first car was a p reg red mark 1 Renault clio.
I started learning to drive with a MK1 PH3 Clio from '98 15 years ago and back in 2020 bought one myself from '96. I know for a fact that MK1 used Clios have this issue where if the owner didn't maintain brakes properly and abuse them, drumbrakes would hum like that, break down and eventually seize the rear wheel. On these cars the braking power was "enough" but scarse braking, especially when 2nd or 3rd hand, always means replacing pads (duh!) but also drums and cylinders because nobody probably had done it in almost 25 years. Once done, the whole braking system should not give on you unless it's the master cylinder or (naturally) worn pads. All pieces are still available and cheap anyway.
Great concept for a challenge. Brilliant content. Thanks!
Great work boys!!!
You guys have explored all over the UK. Now come to the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland this summer

@@MrManBuzz I’ve had my fair share of old classic French sheds and a classic it may be but to not even do 800 miles before falling apart is pre engineered into the cars to make more money.. the Peugeot 405 was rock solid, I had one of those and it went on forever. The french made cars so good at one point that they would hardly ever go wrong, but that isn’t good business so after the mid 90’s they decided to engineer bad cars to make people buy more. Look at that episode of Top Gear Peugeot!

Amazing. Love the final destination though. ❤
I had one of those new in 99 as a company car. Did 65k in one year in it, nothing went wrong until the gearbag blew up at 99.5k, recon gearbag in and it was still going with over 200k on it with someone else in the company driving it. Solid little motors.
Great fun as always guys. I have to say though - bit of a PSA - stopping on the motorway was a dumb idea. You hadn't actually broken down, and I'm sure you had the chance to pull off to check the wheel. People really do die in genuine breakdowns on motorways, I just hope that nobody thinks it's ok to stop just cos a wheel sounds a bit dodgy.
Ethan, Jack and Edwin a great team ✌️
Many years ago I was given a Clio whilst my company car was on order. The fleet manager told me they used to have four of them but three had been written off… ‘do your best!’ 🤣

Only just found this video. Great video, some good memorable moments & stops. These guys really do get o well.
