WE DIDN'T EXPECT THIS ON OUR NEW ALFA ROMEO GTV!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

@gastonrossato @thebarnmiami @renzorossato
S1:E1 We finally receive in our inventory the "missing link" to Season 1 Episode 8. The 1969 Alfa Romeo GTV 1750! This particualr car is a Euro spec, still equipped with the dual side draft Webber Carbs, vs the american spec cars that introduced for the 1st time the SPICA mechanical fuel injected system.
We bought this car from a local lead. It's been in the same family since 1970. Besides being a straight forward car, the 1st thing we noticed during inspection was the genuine Campagnolo magnesium GTA wheels (including the spare tire! ). The GTA was an aluminum bodied homologated version of the GTV. According to the seller these are the wheels they bought the car with, which to us is stunning they made it this long being so fragile!
The 68-69 GTV's are in a sense the "happy middle" GTV's, because ascetically they still sport the small taillights (more favorable), but now features the sportier quad headlights up front. Mechanically the car favors as well. The engine for the 68-69 years were upgraded from a 1600 to a 1750. The late model GTV's did have a 2000 motor, but some still prefer the rev happy 1750. Additionally for 68-69 the buckets are the highly sought after "Flying Buttress".
This car is a blast and we congratulate the previous ownership for keeping this beauty on the road for 49 years! It's a great driver quality car and it will be available and priced accordingly.

    It’s exactly the model GTV that I used to own for 12 years, albeit RHD out in Oz. One thing though guys, delete the crappy sound track - it totally does nothing for your video.

    @@raisingjunior6389 Ciao fratelli!, there is an Italian craftsman, who reproduces them almost the same, they can be ordered, but the price starts from + 2'000 USD for each seat, here is the link: www.tappezzeriafausto.it/

    The registration plate as can be seen on the rear end, is a EE plate,which stands for Ente Esportazione, or Export Entity plate. These were fitted to cars that buyers from overseas would buy on order from the factory, and then drive around Italy eventually loaded on a ship bound for some overseas destination. The reason these plates were fitted was because the car was for export only, and not t be registered in any Italian province, which use plates specific to that city and province.

    As an Italian I must make a correction: the black square plastic tag was being used in Italy from the the early 1960s until 1976. The two letters were the acronym for the province of residence of the owner when the car was registered, followed by a sequential number ( the older the year of registration, the lower the number )..The EE stood for ESCURSIONISTA ESTERO , “ Foreign Excursionist “ that was back then a foreigner LEGALLY allowed to buy a car and TEMPORARILY drive it WITHIN the national borders . The car couldn’t pass the borders because that would mean being exported and that was prohibited given the special fiscal privileges linked to the EE type of registration. Basically it was a particular status reserved to those wealthy foreigners without budget issues who could spend an extended vacation in Italy and could afford to buy a nice car ,usually in cash and in full. As a reward , or incentive rather , the Italian government did not charge registration taxes ( other than the VAT sale tax ) and provided these plates , extremely rare to see on the road . I hope I clarified this. Ciao 👋

    The US 1750 GTV model has round side safety lights front and back and looks like it was deleted upon restoration. I would have used front Euro side round directional.

    My euro 1750 GTV, admittedly a Series 2, does have the little round directional lights you talk of and also head rests. My research has sown that Series 1, which this car is, did not have these directional lights at all. Btw, this car does have head rests, just lowered for some reason
