CHANGES I WILL BE MAKING TO MY ALFA ROMEO GTV HOTROD (GTA)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

E4:E10
1967 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT made GTA/hotrod. As Renzo describes in the intro my "pride and joy"...for now. This car started life as a standard GT, but ultimately found it's way to the hands of the renowned Roman Tucker (From Roman Auto Prep). A GTA expert and GTA build as this one.
The car has the distinctive GTA exterior features: Front grill and heart, bottom air intake cutouts, removed bumpers, wheels, tires, door handles and windows.
It has all new suspension components, sport springs and large front sway bar with drop links. Polyurethane bushings, Koni shocks and a Limited Slip (LSD) rear end.
Transmission is a 5 speed gearbox with all new synchronizers and clutch.
Power comes from a 2L engine swap. Done heads, valves, Cam, high compression pistons, aluminum radiator, oil cooler, electronic ignition, heads, GTA side exhaust, recovery tank, real GTA intake manifold, dual 40/40 Webber carbs. Estimated at 180HP (still not dynoed)
Inside is very simplistic, with aluminum door cards, roll cage, rear seat delete, Sparco racing buckets, dash has no radio or glove box cutouts. Plexi side glass - front and rear, alcantara MOMO steering wheel. Alfaholics fuel cell
Wheels I purchased from Classic Alfa. 7x14 raw aluminum finish, wrapped in Avon CR6ZZ's 180/70/14 (Nice vintage GTA look).
Livery on the car is currently with a dark hunter green nose. Really thinking of going white or red. What do you think?
Future plans: high performance exhaust, but coming out from the back of the car. Carb trumpets + new carburetor venturi and jets for more performance. Sport, but less aggressive vintage appearance buckets, door cards, flat MOMO steering wheel.
At the moment it's not for sale, but then again everything is for sale ;)

What a car! I'd keep the green nose, it looks great, every other GT is all red, the green gives it an edge. Making it more streetable makes sense, maybe replace the bucket seats with some vintage race car looking ones.

That step-nose hood is legend! Design award of the century! AR only built these in red or white, but the green makes that front really pop. Keep.

That is awesome Gaston. I have a 1969 GTV 1750 with a Wes Ingram engine putting out about 170hp - and nowhere near as light as your stepnose. Bravo! 3 questions please! 1 - Those 14x7 wheels from Classic Alfa - can you tell me what offset they are? 2 - did you have to do any fender work, use wheel spacers or switch to the shorter GTA steering arms to fit the wheels? 3 - are you running stock brakes or the big brake kit from either Alfaholics or ClassicAlfa ? 4 - What springs are you running to lower it? Awesome build and great video!

beautiful car! i love the engine sound - I agree with you guys making this beauty more streetable, because you take it more often out for a easy ride than racing it on a track. I persoanlly would change the nose to red (white is too racey / green is alright, but in my opinion it just doesnt quite fit that good to the red giulia) but change the car in the way you like it! keep it up gaston! greets from germany

I have an idea..why not paint the front red and paint the right hand side corner passenger side (say in white) AUTODELTA style....you could even wrap it in the white..it’s basically a patch. Just a thought. But the trumpets DEFINITELY.... Actually I have a 105 myself that I am getting done right now...it is all white..I am getting some aluminium bucket seats made up..like the bomber style..however with a twist...they are going to be replicas of the Alfa Romeo TIPO seats. They will be covered with leatherette on the sides and grey (gray in USA hahaha...you can tell where I am from? England!) on the centres just like the AUTODELTA cars but instead of being in fibreglass the aluminium will be on show and be bare on the back.... BUT..it’s YOUR car and you must do what you wish to it.... I hope you are going to give more updates on this beauty....also...do you have some detail photos of all aspects of your 105 so we can drool!!!!!! I love your shows too...keep them up....ENJOY!!!! Rob from England

Like the car and sounds awesome but the front has to be fixed before he paints it. It's practically flat - the area over the gta oval vents and under the headlamps. Normal for a 50year old plus car

Put a white stripe (your hoice of width) between the green and the red... Separate the two colors (red and green) of the same tone and gives you the Italian flag.

Either Alfissimo.com in San Diego or Centerline Alfa on Colorado. I shop through them if I can get a part needed. But with classic Alfa Romeo's parts are always sold to major shops and guys like us are left to scavenge for parts other than direct from Italy. But I think both websites sell the shirt.

I really want the nose red, but having changed it yet. No changes at all yet in reality. I have had some mechanical issues and it’s been grounded at the shop unfortunately...should be back on the road soon. It came with the cage. I think it’s just a bolt on purchase. 🤘

Hi Robert, I appreciate you following up and holding us accountable. If I did not respond it certainly wasn’t done intentionally, so I do apologize for leaving you hanging. We do our best to produce continuous content and to be responsive. Having said that we also have many other aspects of a daily business to manage and that unfortunately show up as higher priority in many cases. I did say we’ll do a follow up on the car, but I haven’t been ready for that follow up, as many things on the car are still pending. I appreciate your passion to see more of the car! I love it too, and still enjoy it very much. Thanks again.
