Actually as soon as you add a 3.5mm Jack it stops being lossless because you convert the signal from digital to analog. The dream is to get a direct USB-C to USB-C connection working. Still looking into it but it's not looking promising right now. If you want wired headphones there's way better options out there for way less money. That's why I settled on this compromise :)

I'm using the cord rn on my PC, gaming with noise cancelling on is the best thing ever.

Imagine an iron man helmet but the ar tech is just an Apple Vision Pro inside the mask with pass through and the cameras are somehow outside without being too noticeable.

Apple made it pretty easy to repair apparently! I'm also impressed at how simple the whole thing is, and how stuff just comes right off, no adhesives.

Anti clockwise screws are used in fairly specific cases

Imagine replacing the airpods max battery and when you connect the next time and it shows you an important battery message

Completely unrelated comment: I was cleaning my spacebar while watching this and learned something... While I already knew , and . ( but without shift) on the keyboard could change a video frame-by-frame, I did not know that holding spacebar makes it play sped-up in case you want to hurry ahead past stuff. Neat!

Hey @PhoneRepairGuru Does the 3.5mm adapter works with a DAC enabled adapter? out of curiosity, since that might be it...

The different screws directions are probably because of vibrations by the driver to prevent the case to come loose, theyre interlocking itself

It seems like the Lightning to 3.5mm cable for the airpods max is pretty special, so I'm not surprised the usb-c one you showed didn't work. I wonder however if using the genuine lightning adapter via a usb-c adapter could work?

I'd like to know how to fix my airpods max from constantly disconnecting. It has to do with that tiny lightning-like connector on the ends of the head band. I'll clean the connectors occasionally and then they are fine for a while, but always end up acting up again.

Boeing should use apple glue as thread locker for their doors 💀💀💀

I wonder if some high strength alcohol and some time on the heat pad would loosen that glue from the frame. Still would likely need to be tapped out but maybe less forceful.

So I'm going to transplant the amplifier from another stereo Bluetooth device, and add a battery. Hoping I can stuff it inside the earcup housings, but I truly never know until I feel like trying. 🤷 😅

I love the creativity of the mod and just people modding things in general, but doing all this instead of just carrying a tiny little USBC to lightning adapter in your bag is crazy work 🤣 + losing functionality is a hard no for me personally.

They will probably make a Pro Max 2 after AirPods 4 and Pro 3, we don't have H3 Chip yet and the Pro Max is hella expensive, make a new version only for USB-C at that price... Sure it's Apple but it's not a good idea

What would be awesome is the ability to get into the phone of someone who is deceased because you don’t know the password without having to erase their phone and pray they were backing it up. My son was a minor when he passed and I’m desperate to look at his pictures and just try and be close to him in that way, but nobody gives any other options other than erasing the phone and if he wasn’t backing up regularly I’ll lose everything.

You could have heated up before hammering the port.

I'll never understand why apple insists on using glue on everything. Especially headphones. I have headphones that cost five times what the pods max cost and there is zero glue in them. I have headphones that were about the same price that you can fully disassemble without tools.

Why do so many devices need to be preyed open, instead of screws ? I feel like that would make repairs easier and less risky.

Apple's USC-C headphone adapter are for output only, not input. They wouldn't work with this in anyway. What you need to try is a USB-C to 3.5mm MALE jack.
