Those paddle fish are so rad looking! I've never even seen one, except in an old book. Never knew they were so cool. Nice footage as always. "I was reeling in, to help you out. Now I might be in trouble.". Haha!

Dude… I get so happy when you catch both adult and baby sized of certain species… and that set of paddlefish means such good news for the species in that river system! It means there’s a healthy breeding population! I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to fish and nature so… that was an AWESOME video! I’d give my left nut to hook into a paddlefish!

Yea a lot of places it's illegal to even take them out of the water as they are a pretty endangered species only found in select rivers in the USA and not in that large of numbers usualy. I know some areas down south allow selective harvesting of them based on a tag system. But man are they prehistoric looking and amazingly majestic creatures. They take my jig off the bottem as they are filter feeders or they get wrapped up in my line all the time when fishing for spring run walleye. I've had a few pushing 7ft and prolly 100 lbs that I've brought to the boat. I'd never keep one personaly, but I can put you on some monsters as well as 200 walleye days of fishing at the same time if your interested just let me know. I live in southern Wisconsin, btw. Have you ever caught a walleye over 30 inches?

Man you're the only fishing channel that's me excited when I get a new notification. Being in FL my whole life, we're taught Saltwater is far superior, but people like you remind us that freshwater is just as crazy! I have a lake nearby infested with Peacock bass that remind me every week that fish don't need to be monsters to fight like hell.

Man this is some killer footage!!! I've never seen anyone land a paddlefish before what a rush I bet that was!!! Lake Erie central basin by downtown Cleveland,OH has been pretty rough the past couple days so I've been stuck inside watching the next best thing! 🍻

I caught a paddlefish in the Missouri River a few months back right after my friend left to get more supplies. I was left fighting the fish by myself. He finally showed back up and we were able to land it. It weighed a total of 24 pounds. Felt like I was fighting a shark

I'm 62 been fishing all my life worked on a shrimp boat as a teenager in the Galveston bay. We used to catch some pretty weird stuff in the shrimp troll but I've never seen nothing like that!

I used to snag paddlefish below Lake D’arbonne in north Louisiana while throwing crankbaits. It feels so weird when they take off and you’re expecting bass or a hybrid striper. Always wondered how many had to be down there for you to snag a fin or a tail like that. Nice vid.

I'm from opelousas I fish darbone all the time I caught a 30lb flat head last weekend in the state canal off hwy 71 it runs from the atchafilia into darbone they have some monsters in there my friend big garfish done alot of water sking in lake darbone too

@@TyPigPatrol i have a friend who puts in the drawing to be able to snag for paddlefish at gavins point. He says it has tons of them and there are some big ones in there. Not table rock lake big but pretty darn big!

Great vid. We're running lines this weekend up here on the missouri river for the freezer we have dedicated for fish. Sept is big flathead month. Gonna stock up on them and walleye. Got a bunch of channels and crappy already. Things are about to get rough my friend so keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 💪😎. It's coming 🙏
