The reason Blitzo is represented by the Moon is because their deal for the book is Blitzo returns it once a month on the full moon, and then they also spend a night together. So he's connected the full moon to Blitzo. The crystal he gets at the beginning is from Asmodeus, and it will allow Blitzo to go to the human world without Stolas' grimoire. Stolas has realized he will never be able to convince Blitzo that he truly loves him if this deal remains in place. Stolas is basically saying "I will break EVERY reason we have to still talk to each other, but then I won't leave you." Stolas is hoping he can be with Blitzo if he cuts every chain holding Blitzo to him. He needs to give him the option to turn his back on Stolas, leave and never talk to him again if he wants the CHANCE of Blitzo staying and actually being WITH him. But, that also comes with the great risk of, Blitzo actually leaving. Hence, a substantial internal conflict. This video is SO FREAKING GOOD I cannot even! Also, there is a Hazbin Hotel trailer up, and it is officially coming out in JANUARY! So that'll be exciting. Should fill in the gap between now and the next Helluva Boss episode, which is working up to be pretty significant.

I think it's both cause of the full moon deal but also the symbolism of how the moon is stuck orbiting him like how Blitz is tied to him through the deal. Some have theorized it could represent the romance between the earth and the moon, or that between the sun and the moon. Like how the earth relies so much on the moon (the tides being one example) and the moon is caught in its orbit. There's also the significance of him seeing Blitz and his trauma as 'the dark side of the moon' that's harder to see. And the significance of him literally ignoring/ pushing the world away in favor of cradling the moon.

Blitzo as the moon symbolizes as "yin" in chinese dualism. Stolas as "male" is yang on the other hand. Just like light (gold) is Blitz and dark (blue) is Stolas. Or warm (red) Blitzo and cold (blue) Stolas. And the binding on their fingers are seen as destiny in asian culture. Like their ways meant to be together. They met their lives often: as childhoodfriends, later as companions/business correlation and then - as Stolas wants (though both do) - relationship The song itself is from a fan: Paranoid DJ. He made the video and produced the song around the time season 1 episode 7 "Ozzies" came out. He wanted to point out the relationship in Stolas point of view. Some lines have been changed since the current events of season 2 happened - to make it more an actual thing. If you want to listen more songs from Paranod DJ - since he had done a lot of HH/HB songs - "The Ringsleader" (the inoffical anthem of Fizzarolli - at least for me ;) ), "Use Me Up" (Angel Dust), "Smile like you mean it" (Alastor, Gabriel Brown aka on YT known as Black Gryph0n - and better known as the singing voice of Alastor in the pilot - did a cover of this song on his channel! @@SeinIshamiado Right now Blitzo and Stolas are in a buisness relation: the book for fullmoon intimacy. Blitzo needs the book for his visits in the mortal realm (aka the real word) for IMP. He had probably the support from Verosika (hence she had probably the stone from Asmodeus). But since they broke up he need another plan for his IMP-business. And that when Stolas and his heavy book came into play. Stolas on the other hand had never a real relationship with someone he likes. He likes Blitzo since his childhood, had probably thought very often of him. Maybe he had a crush on him. And his sexual needs were stimulated from Blitzo since his wife, Stella, never really cared for him. And can you blame them? Both were forced to marry and do their duty to get a child with Goetia blood. Both are unhappy (though Stella likes to throw salt in the wound). Also.. Blitzo was a way to get out of this hurtfull relationship. And probably Stolas feeling grew with time to that little imp. Now Blitzo doesn't think Stolas likes him as a person. He thinks Stolas use him like a playtoy - and with his status and power some demons would do that in this situation. (rember Stolas words becuase he is well aware of that: We're rich and we are hot. People want our money AND our bodies!) Now Stolas isn't as everyone else. Not that he is good in relationship-stuff, but so is Blitzo. But can you blame for Blitzo to think that he is being used? So Blitzo do his duty to keep the book - and the freedom to go to the mortal realm. But he keeps his feelings away, to not get hurt again. (First relationship might be Fizzarolli since he had a letter with "For Fizz eyes only" and a flower; another one was Verosika but it also didn't work out) Now you understand both sides of view and why they behave how they do. Then this all is related to the relationship and dynamic they both have. It won't go any further than that. That's why Stolas is thinking about breaking up the bond they have (lyrics: I will try to make amends / For making you means to an end). It does not mean Stolas want to break up with Blitzo, rather ending the business-relationship they have. Without the deal Stolas wouldn't look like he is demanding his presence for anything than himself. And Blitzo can choose: Does he like Stolas so much that he want to stay (and probably be part of the divorcing-provess to stand by his side) and starting a new life with Stolas. Or Blitzo doesn't care.. then he - Blitzo - can break up with Stolas.... And yes, there is a chance that Blitzo might first turn back his ass, then to slowly making up again.. who knows... but Blitzo would have a chance to get to know Stolas better. And both can be themselves while doing that... and getting into a healthier relationship (though it doesn't mean they don't fuck it up.. but yeah.. since it's Hell I wouldn't be surprised xD) From Stolas point of view it's hard to tell what Blitzo will choose since Blitzo has so many hard layers to protect himself to see what Blitzo will choose. It's one thing to do something because you have no other choice because a contract keeps you binding your bid, or if you willingly do somethig... and yes, Stolas is terrified of the outcome.. but I think he will do it anyway to have the chance - how tiny it might be - to be with Blitzo. Because Stolas really likes him and he kind of understand Blitzo and his situation too (and that's probably the hardest part). Stolas is a clever man/demon ;)

I love how it's made clear that Stolas is well aware that Blitz is the way he is and why, but is also well aware that he's helpless to help Blitz while their relationship revolves around the book

To explain. The orangish crystal Stolas received was a magic item that allows free travel to Earth and back. He wants to give Blitz the choice to leave and no longer hold authority over him with the Grimroire. He wants a real relationship with him and is willing to break off the deal and still have him have a way to do his buisness, even if Blitz might walk away.

So on point. Stolas is also thinking back to the beginning wear the deal "favors for favors" started. We thought Stolas was a perv, but truth was he was in love with Blitz and using the grimroire was the only way he could have a connection to him. Which leads to his problem. Blitz thinks Stolas is using him as a plaything. I love that Stolas seems to know despite Blitz's personality, he has a wall to block himself from abandonment.

"Why he grab the moon" if you remember Stolas and Blitz have an arrangement to meet once a month on the night of the New Moon. So the Moon represents Blitz. The song makes a few references to their deal too, like Stolas talking giving Blitz a choice or making Blitz a "means to an end".

It seems interesting to state that this music video was made to be a canon version from Paranoia DJ song that they made a while back. Also this song is leading us to witness the 8th episode called “The Full Moon” which is coming out next year in March. So it might be a long time wait but Hazbin Hotel is going to be airing during Helluva Boss’s Break. With that said, I hope you keep a note on the “Crystal” as that item might grant blitz to turn human, teleportation to the human surface and more without the usage of Stolas’s Book. So fingers cross that Stolas give Blitz the crystal and understand the relationship between both of them. As it’s going to be like Fizz and Ozzie’s relationship.

Man, they fade of his eyes in the end is the most painful bit. Normally, their eyes glow, so you can't see what they are focused on. But it's a trope to literally have eyes lose their gloss and iris when a character dies or 'fades' internally. In this case... The moment he has accepted that this is going to happen, and it's something he needs to do, the light of his eyes fades, and that personality we've come to see in Stolas is literally dying for the sake of Blitzo.

The grimoire actively prevented Blitz and Stolas from having a genuine romantic relationship as it made a incompatible power dynamic between them preventing the entire concept of consent. Stolas essentially had Blitz literally by the balls and Blitz rightfully resented that which is demonstrated by his refusal to see Stolas as anything more than a horny perverted owl. This is why Stolas HAD to give Blitz the ability to be independent from the grimoire, so that he could try to build an actual relationship with him. Afterall, even if Blitz had embraced Stolas while he had the grimoire, sure, the chains would've slackened, but the chains would've still been there and Stolas wouldn't know if what they'd have was true love, or if Stolas was just means to an end for Blitz.

I've watched this music video so many times and I get those chills every time. It's so good.

So for some context here. The crystal stolas picks up is the one he talked to asmodeous about to travel between the mortal realm freely so he can give it to blitz. Currently blitz needs the book to do his job and he and stolas have the “every full moon” promise to use the book. So he’s offering the crystal as a way to free blitz from the obligatory feeling of their relationship and he’s hoping that blitz will still look his way when he’s no longer obligated.

The next HB episode comes out either after HH or in between. The next episode of HB is titled “Full Moon” so it directly correlates to this song. It’s likely when Stolas will present Blitzø with the choice to leave by giving him the crystal. So it’s going to be a major episode of this series.

From my perspective, this is how I have interpreted the song. Stolas realizes that if he desires his relationship with Blitzø to progress beyond a mere contractual arrangement, he must allow him to make a choice. By giving Blitzø the Asmodean Crystal, Stolas effectively terminates their contract. With the crystal, Blitzø no longer requires Stolas' book to access the human realm, rendering their monthly encounters unnecessary. Stolas is prepared to express his true feelings to Blitzø and hopes that Blitzø will reciprocate. However, Stolas is also apprehensive about the possibility of heartbreak once he relinquishes the crystal, as he fears losing Blitzø.

It's funny how much more perceptive Kirby was on this one ^^ Glad she was included!

There won't be any new Helluva Boss episodes until after Hazbin Hotel premiers, so this is probably all we'll have for a few months at least...but damn did they give us a heartbreaking and beautiful piece to close off 2023. As others have commented, the entire focus of this song is on the relationship between Stolas and Blitz, which began with an arrangement where once a month, on the full moon, Blitz would return the grimoire to allow Stolas to carry out the duties of his station, followed by a night of "passionate fornication" between the two (S01E01). This relationship has changed over the episodes, and it has now reached a point where Stolas has outright stated that he loves Blitz, but has also realized that their arrangement has created something toxic that cannot continue for the two of them to ever truly be together. They both have issues...lots of issues, but for Blitz he honestly feels that he brings pain and misery to everyone around him, and that no one could ever really love him. As a result he pushes anyone who gets too close away, and with Stolas, the arrangement around the grimoire is the golden chain around his neck. So long as that remains, his belief that he could never be anything more than a little plaything for a Goetia is affirmed, so Stolas is going to break that chain, and in doing so, give Blitz a choice to be with him. ...but in doing so, he's also giving Blitz the opportunity to do what he's always done; push everyone away. In all likelihood, Blitz will interpret Stolas' ending of the deal as confirmation that he's just tired of Blitz and is casting him away as another broken toy. I really hope I'm wrong on this one, but this is Helluva Boss, and Viv knows how to destroy us emotionally.

I fucking can't. I fucking bawl like baby 😭😭. So Stolas got an Asmodean Crystal for Blitz so Blitz can access the human world without needing Stolas' Grimoire. Stolas believes that Blitz is only with him because of the Grimoire and that their relationship is only transactionally carnal. So by cutting him off and untethering their monthly arrangements, Stolas hopes to get Blitz to realize Stolas actually cares so much about Blitz. So he's setting him free, despite the fear and pain that Blitz won't come back but with hope that he will. It fucking hurts my soul. I've been in love with a woman who is aromantic for years, so the pain of a one-sided relationship hits hard.

Blitz is screwed up by the trauma he has gone through and has put up walls around his heart and self destructs any relationship he is in because he is not able to comprehend that someone can truly love him for who he is. That's why these last couple episodes with Fizzaroli has been so important for Blitz. He made amends with Fizz and saw that a "Blue Blood" can truly love a "lowly imp" like Blitz or Fizz.

2 months later, Viv announced we’re getting 7 more Helluva boss episodes and next one I believe is sometime in March

So, Stolas & Blitz's relationship has always been transactional: Blitz slept with Stolas to steal the book, and Stolas arranged a contract for monthly bangin' (on the night of the full moon, hence all the lunar imagery) in exchange for Blitz keeping it. However, as the kids say, Stolas has caught feelings for Blitz, and wants this to become a real relationship, whereas Blitz (and his many, many issues) thinks Stolas is just using him (for mutual gain, but use nonetheless), and isn't able to contemplate that it could lead to more. The crystal Stolas unwraps at the start is an Ozymandian crystal, which allows travel between the planes, just like the book IMP currently uses. The idea is Stolas will give Blitz the crystal, removing the transactional part of the relationship, in hopes it can evolve into something real. This whole song (a remake from a fan song from a few years back) is basically Stolas pondering his situation, and wondering if Blitz can love him--or, as Kyle put it, is even emotionally capable of doing so. Stolas faces the very real possibility that 1) Blitz isn't interested if he's not compelled, or 2) Blitz's many issues prevent him from loving /anyone/--in either case, Stolas is steeling himself to walk away rather than either continue to compel Blitz, or pine after someone who can't love him back.

I almost forgot to mention, this started as a fan animation/song.

Yesssss!!! I was so sad last weekend when I didn't see your reaction, knowing you guys react together on thursdays. I get it now that schedules change. I am just happy you guys did react ^-^. I cried at this song. Such powerful lyrics especially with context. The music, voice, and graphics are absolutely gorgeous! I feel chills every time I listen to this song and have it in my playlist for day to day lol. People have pointed out much of why for the visuals. We have had hints on the crystal for several episodes, including why Stolas was at Ozzies the day of the kidnapping. With this crystal he hopes to prove to Blitz that he doesn't want to just use him like he does with a contract, but actually wants to be with him. He just knows this means he might actually lose Blitz and is willing to take the risk. Now that is love, and its soul crushing.

Not alone. Especially since I recall Viv saying the relationship is end game for the series and the series is suppose to be 4 seasons. So we got 2 and a half seasons to go before they get together assumedly. This song was probably the heartbreak to help temper us to the big one coming

I can't take Stolas seriously because he's literally sexually coercing Blitz with this deal. He's disgusting and entitled and now he's throwing a pity party over the life he ruined. Truly an insult to gay men anywhere. This song sounds good, but I can't even enjoy it knowing who it's coming from.
