@@user-vs3tx9lv5c Not "selling" that one. We chose it for the sake of the video and understand the importance of choosing a reliable and safe PSU when building a PC. Which is exactly why we linked an alternative case and PSU in the description if people would rather purchase a more reliable component. From our experience these low end PSU's work fine for systems with low power consumption as well! Anything more extreme and we wouldn't recommend using the combo👍

PSU like this are common here and are used for low powered systems , I worked part time as someone who manages it in an computer rental cafe . The specs are 2nd gen i3 , 12gb ram , 256 ssd and gt 610 so far those components are already in its 6 years working just fine and survives disasters like flood where, of course the psu were removed before that disaster happened. I wouldn't recommend anyone using those psu unless you have similar power draw like the spec sheet I mentioned, but do that if you have enough knowledge when shit happens and always expect the worst

In my experience, generic psu are kind of ok with cpu and gpu that doesn't draw a lot of power like i3's and entry lvl gpu that only use the pci-e power. But its definitively a weak spot on the system and i wouldn't run them for more than a couple of months until you can buy a decent psu. When the covid thing started a lightning strike a post on the streets and fryed my psu luckly for me the protections of the psu saved the rest of my computer. After that since the restrictions and lack of money i used a generic psu from my previous computer, and it worked kind of fine for a year until i had money to buy a new psu. The pc i had that moment was an fx 4300 + 8gb ram + gtx 1050, and i just underclocked the fx 4300 and that alone lowered the power draw of it, from around 90 watts to about 70 at max, the 1050 only used the pci-e so its around 70/75 watts max wich made the whole system draw about 200 watts at max when stressed. But as i said i wont do that again unless completely necesary and for not longer than a few months. Not only for the real risk of a really bad psu destroying the pc, but also becouse the good psu usually have protections of a variety of types that are really what you want on the long therm for the pc to have a good long life of gaming or whatever. No one knows then a ligthning bolt will strike around your house and fry every unprotected electronic, the electric line itself can have a failure and send high voltage too, those things are rare but it can happen. Anyway im on both sides of this disscussion, yes its kind of ok to run a low end system like an i3 with entry lvl gpu, with generic psu, but on the long therm, we should always upgrade that psu for a decent one the faster the better.

I don't know the price of a new CPU like a Ryzen 4100 issue. But it would be alot slower than the 12100F, so I agree with the toasty bros picking that CPU. Can always get cheaper going second hand as you stated in the video. With new parts comes a warranty though and for some people they don't want used parts. Also while you can use something like a 5500xt with 550watt PSU, better to get a low wattage GPU to be safe. Back in the day, there was lots of cases that came with PSUs. I remember buying a case around 2005 with a antec 450w trupower PSU and thinking it was really nice lol. Today most companies don't even sell anything below 500w, with 650w being the minimum for some product lines.

I wouldn't ever buy a case and no name psu I did that back in 2012 when I was building my first pc on a tight budget everything went well for about 2 weeks until I started hearing bangs from the PC area while it was completely off, turns out the caps were exploding inside the PSU and eventually the PSU died lesson was learned never bought a cheap PSU ever again

Might be lighting a dumpster fire of an argument by saying this, but unless you need a computer for other stuff (work or school) while also wanting to do some comparatively light gaming on the side, I don't understand why anyone would choose this over a console. As of writing this, a Series X is only $50 more than the cost of these parts, and a Series S is over $100 cheaper. If gaming is your sole focus, that's a better deal, at least in my opinion (coming from somebody who owns both a console and a PC)

I couldn't agree more if in 2024 ur building a budget 1080 pc just stick with console it would be better all around. Save ur money build at least a 1440p setup cause this PC won't run future games and u would end up spending more
