@Corporal Destroyer ya but thats not really the same thing that's a basic 90s rig everyone beats those eventually and there really not special just because its a 90s lol That's a whoole different category from a 80s bull nose dually lol
I’ve always been a fan of the rectangular boom tubes that nascar ran in the 80’s to early 2000’s. Definitely an awesome sound that is no longer with us on the nascar circuit.
man, that sounds sweet! the fact that that engine sounds like a completely different engine in each gear / rev range is amazing!

@@Thecraig909 help me put an exhaust kit on my truck lol I have it already
I did duals and a x pipe on a 7.3 idi but not equal length and to be honest an idi person can pick up on the engine clatter pretty easy I do recommend advancing the injection timing it'll change the sound and have much better power
The clatter up front is the only thing that'll give it away anymore. Sounds really nice from the side and back. And it doesn't throw coke dust like some do LOL.
First and boom tubes.

The x pipe is what makes the big difference, because it evens out the exhaust pulses between the cylinder banks. So the sound of a 12 valve probably wouldn’t change since it only has one exhaust manifold.

@@davidjames2788 X pipe would be a bitch and a half on a 7.3 powerstroke. It’s 2 manifolds into Up pipes into one turbo in the valley on a collector.
I think the new exhaust offers more airflow than before. If you take the 'hat' off the injection pump, remove the governor rod, you can get to the rotor plunger assembly. Once you can see that, roll the engine with a breaker bar, until you see a hex head screw. Insert a 5/32 hex wrench into it and TIGHTEN that screw 1/8 to 1/4 turn. That will increase rotor plunger travel, and inject more fuel, to take advantage of that extra air. You will be surprised with the increase in power, but more importantly, it will start much easier, even with a low battery or on a cold day! (don't give it too much, or it will "roll coal" at full throttle) If you remove the fuel line in the middle of the 8 injector lines, use that same 5/32 hex key, and adjust a delivery pump screw inside of the fuel inlet. Tightening that screw will increase the timing advance curve of the pump. Sometimes that adjustment is necessary, because over time, springs tend to sag. Once it's been readjusted, you shouldn't have to do it again, since the spring has taken its set. The rotor plunger assembly beds into the cam ring. Once this break-in period is over, it should hold this setting as well. It takes 12,000 to 20,000 miles, for the pump to fully 'break-in', then, it should hold its tune for the life of the pump, or perhaps, even the life of the engine.
I had a 1990 7.3IDI, my dream was to install a 6-71 blower, long tubes and a moose pump on it. This exhaust would work with that concept excellently. A ZF5 would be a nice addition too.
love that 2 tone white and red man beautiful truck and sonds great good luck with it bud
That's a proper exhaust, from the front only engine sounds and from the side/back you hear exhaust mostly, top notch work!
Love the widow makers. I have them on my 65 F100. I like the higher pitch tones the mufflers bring out on that diesel. Sounds sick!
Thanks for showing the old IDI some love! I bought one last year and am just finishing a full exhaust build on mine. I just did a 3” y pipe with straight thru perforated muffler. They are great trucks!

The NA trucks definitely sound a lot like a gasser I think.
Went with true 2 1/2 duals with magnapacks on my na 7.3 idi, sounds like a hi compression 460.
Nothing better than hanging out with the buds wrenching on cars and trucks . Good job you guys 🇨🇦.

Excellent work guys! When i was a teen, we took our 1086 F250 diesel 4wd and created a custom single barrel type exhaust under it for about a year. The exhaust hangers kept breaking in the stock system with glasspacks. So the custom muffler shop mad us a joied tube into a 4" outlet that ran wide open out the rear. Ford THUNDER that truck was. LoL!
This is honestly the reason I still love driving the old 6.5s. I have always wanted an x-pipe twin turbo 6.5 😂
Love the videos man! Keep slayin!!

Yes, the famous hi rev run of the F-100 that blew the motor. It did sound good though.
Nice job Craig and company!! I'm really not into diesels but that one sounds pretty cool. Was there a power or milage differance after the exhaust install?

It is absolutely amazing how one exhaust change made this sound like Gator McClusky's Custom 500 at a distance. Well done.
worked on a lot of those defiantly the best sounding one i have ever heard nice job
That's so unique, and cool!!! Good video!!!
Back when these old non turbo diesels were new people dualed them out all the time and they always sounded pretty close to a gas burner just deeper whether they had glass packs or turbo mufflers.
When I was working on square body chevys mainly I’d take pb blaster and spray the rollers and tracks on the windows and it’d help automatically same with 70s to 90s fords I believe
Well done! I dig it! 😊
I going to say that the manifold size is the for compression and back pressure to get the engine ratio at 22.5 to 1 without looking it up. Worked on tons of them in the last 40 years now. Can't wait to see how it sounds and runs after the new exhaust system is on. Good morning and enjoy your day today.
Watch it. Every time Craig does exhaust the engine goes boom..lol
Stoked for the new 4" Blackwidow mufflers. Ill be impatiently waiting the release date!
Love that truck!!! Sounds great!!
3:00 My parents still have a 1 gallon metal container of it in their garage, must be 20 years old, still works. Not to mention spray cans of it in the tool boxes of their trucks... they also work good as wasp spray too in a pinch. Just don't inhale when you spray lol
This solidifies my plan to build a decent exhaust for my '84 dually, and then supercharge it rather than turbo. The only thing that would make that exhaust note any better at all is blower whine 😁
Nice team work truck sounds amazing !
Glad you were wearin the safety squints while welding! hahaha
Between your channel and Black Widow, y’all have turned me (a GM and Cummins guy) into a fan of how Fords sound lol
It will sound insane under a full load of pulling a heavy trailer.
That’s definitely the coolest sounding IDI I’ve ever heard. Pretty cool.
That sounds awesome! I wish that muffler existed when I helped rebuild my cousins 6.9 250. We put a stock rock auto unit in it.😢
Ahh makes me miss my old 92 7.3. Was also muffler delete, turn downs right under the cab. Shift into 3rd going down a hill and it sounded like it had a compression brake lol.
Cool truck ! Sounds great.
man Sick truck! From a distance, it almost sounded Turbo'd.
I’ve been going back and forth on a 6.9 but I’m sold, this is perfect
Now I want an IDI dually with black widow exhaust! Thanks. LOL Great work as always.
Good fabrication anyway, nice cars all around that place. I've got a 97 f350 4×4 srw with a 7.3. Inspirational video.
Reminds me of the cat 3208 in our cat 613A scraper! Great work guy's
Buddy has a 88 swb Chevy with a 6.2 Detroit stuffed into it. It used to have super 10s on it and sounded very similar to this. Now it's got 3 inch and a massive tip and trumpets real bad 🤮. Cool sounding on that ol 6.9 🤘
Sounds great frenz. Good job
Sounding good and the Mustang is still looking good.👍
I have a 92 crew cab duelly, but I put the 6.9 from my 84 in it, I call it the beast, with the 5spd it's unstoppable.
Hell yeah! She sound good. I thought my straight pipe 5.9 sounds. She probably sounds even better in person
Sounds Awesome 😎👍
It was the safety squint for me when spot welding the down pipes lol! Been there.
I think you and Chuck Seitsinger from the 405 should have a badass off.
Im a big PB blaster guy myself !!! I love it !!!
Seriously. Black Widow Exhaust makes some absolutely top tier products. I have a dual in dual out 250 series in the custom dual side exit exhaust on my 370Z. I may be biased but I've never heard a better sounding VQ. and my exhaust exits in the same place too, right in front of the rear tires.
Had a 92 single cab dually with 7.3 idi and a 5 speed it was a awesome truck
Would love to hear it on my Ford Ecoboost. Love this channel.
Black widdows sounding good!
That sounds great, good work brother 👍🇺🇸🤘🔥🔥
I remember X piping my '87 Crown Victoria with the 5.8l 351W. That car sounded sic. I miss that car.
A turbo IDI is actually quite reliable as well if you add a aftermarket kit, my dream truck.
Wish I had some friends like you guys
Damn, that truck sounds nice! On my 1st gen Cummins '78 Bronco I run a modified 3" downpipe into 4" exhaust with no muffler, exit behind the passenger door. It sounds nice at WOT, lots of whistle. But that's due to the big turbo on it. Without a turbo, the 7.3 definitely sounds like a gas engine.
Job well done gentlemen.❤
I love that truck man!
That’s sounds alright it will be interesting if he gained any hp due the exhaust scavenging from the x pipe Just gotta find a 6.9 idi with a h pipe and see what that sounds like

From stock, pretty much any exhaust will add power. They come with a T pipe, it isn't even a Y.
I love this with all my heart
Now that is a beautiful truck
totally changed the sound of the engine..awesome
so I can remember 25+ years ago my dad building custom exhaust and making custom x pipes for lots of different things but a diesel is new 👍
I’m curious a good set of custom headers would do for this considering the manifolds are so small. It’s a big truck lots of space under the hood even 180 crossovers would be interesting. Lol shoot with that kinda compression the 180s would be so happy.
There’s something about the bullnose duallys that look awesome. I had a single cab with a wooden bed and a 351m
Love that Indy shirt! Old school cross too 🤟🏼 Hell Ride
great stuff thanks
It definitely sounds great, looks great 😂and its a rare truck&engine now adays
Real cool sound! 😃👍
I have the same 6.9 idi and now I wanna do this to my truck now 😂
I ran my 93 7.3 idi straight headers and was getting compliments lol
Michael's truck is probably one of the cleanest idi's out there
Those mufflers would be perfect for for a high flow turbo exhaust!!!
I have the 1987 version of that truck it’s loud and slow and I still love it
Mercedes OM606 owner here. Nice job! Sounds great. Maybe 180° headers will improve the sound even more?
That sounds good 👍 great video
Your truck sounds so wicked I ordered the same exhaust for my 15 f150 coyote 6 inch lift with 37/20/13.50

Those mufflers on a coyote is going to sound insane man.
Sounds epic guy's. 👍🏻😜
Nice job. Ik have the Widowmakers on my galaxie 500 1964 but it's way to Noisy. I am looking for adding a muffler in the back. Wats about your galaxie?
I think it sounds really good. I like it because it doesn’t sound like everything else on the road.
I love the sound, I wish I could make my 01 F350 with the 7.3 sound like that.
So I want to do a nascar style exhaust like what you’ve been doing, on both my 93 f150 and my 97 ranger. But ranger might get it first because it’s open manifold and it’s obnoxious. But I need to figure out electrical problems not letting reverse engage electronically
This is the best content!
24:18 I wonder how the Detroit 12V71 would sound with an X pipe and big 4 inch mufflers like that? They already sound like crazy when they're stock. Lol
Peg would love this sweet heart!!👌👌👌
What tire set up do you have? A lift or level on as well? Great video!
I was just about to email black widow and ask if anyone had used their system on a diesel before! Guess I got my answer 🤣
Sound similar to a V8 IVECO. Very nice, boys ! Well done ! 👌😊👍
