Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands. Thank you for being here with us for cabin life, van life and all the in between!

Looks great! Things to add (from experience) a container to keep out mice from extra toilet paper and a bucket of ash from campfire. Once a week, throw three cups down the hole at once and close the lid (to prevent ash from billowing up in your outhouse) and it cuts the smells down and aids in decomp.

The outhouse looks great. My favorite part of watching you at the cabin is obviously the incredible transformation, but really it’s watching you build this stuff. Your willingness to show the struggles, frustration, errors and successes makes these way more interesting. I’ll miss my weekly dose of you two next week, but have fun in Toronto.

Hi Ladies to enhance the protection of the bug hats, put a ball cap or a "bucket" hat on first and the bug screen over that. This protects the top of your head from bites and the visor lifts the screen away from your face. More like a bee keepers head gear. Nice job on the outhouse. Tom at the NB-NS border.

A heartfelt thank you to you, girls. Father's Day is always a very difficult day for me because my kids abandoned me years ago for reasons I have never understood. I discovered you wonderful ladies first thing this morning and I have been binge watching you all day. I spent two years in Mexico so I loved your van life videos there. Then I moved on to your cabin project and was truly amazed at what you have accomplished. Definitely a very challenging megaproject in every sense and you are both proving just how talented you are. The camera loves you both and you are a joy to watch. I'm a devoted fan now and will follow your progress every week. Thank you for rescuing me today.

Raise the water storage tank up to the gutter and then the water will have its own pressure. Make sure there are no holes in the outer shell so as to keep the mice and voles from nesting in your insulation.

Pro Tip: In order to avoid time wasting trips back to the store in the middle of your project purchase a little more material than you think you need. You can take back all your overages at the end of the project or the next time you find yourself going back to the store for something else without having to stop in the middle of your project and as an added bonus you'll save money on gas. Also just want to say the outhouse looks great! PS. I'm so excited for you having your first poo in your new outhouse. 💩🤗😂

The two of you did an amazing job on the Outhouse. I love the sink on the outside. My niece and her partner went to the Indy Pride Parade and granny tagged along with them. LOL! We all had a great time. I love the way the two of you are doing your videos now. I like real life videos. Thanks for sharing and tell Izzy and Bella hello for me.

Honestly, that's the best looking outhouse I've ever seen! And i remember having to use one all year round. In the cold we had a "reservation system" where you, or the previous user, fired up the kerosene heater before you went out to use it. It was about 50 yards from the house and those winter trips were not fun - or leisurely. Your design and implementation is definitely FIRST CLASS!

Great outhouse. The only thing you may want to add unless I just don't see it is a vent pipe it will help with the smell, also sometimes a little wood ash goes a long way to help the smell. Wood ash is a great resource, if you mix it with dirt it makes for an ideal road surface. It has many uses. Like I said before one of the best outhouse builds I've see, you should be proud!

That's a very cool and best looking out house I've ever seen in all of my years! And the creative way you did the outside sink with the foot pump and rain water used, OMG! Solar lighting, WHAT? I think you've come a long way from being "rookies" my dears. But I'm always left with wanting more to watch because it's over before I know it, that is how much I enjoy you all! May we all be blessed with Sunday after Sunday!
