The 2014 Blue Bird is definitely a great bus. I drove one for two years when I had a route and I loved it. That bus will be a great church bus. As long as it’s well maintained, it could last forever. I do recommend not letting it sit unused very long as it can cause aftertreatment problems, which can be expensive.

I love the Blue Bird buses as well. Even though the Blue Birds at my school were built in 2018, and we have 4 of them, they all function very well, and I’d honestly like to ride in one over the traditional IC CE.

@@Blue_eyes1Get it from a school district that you know for sure has taken care of it. Never buy anything with a MaxxForce 7 or DT. Make sure the bus runs well, it shifts properly, etc.

What a Kool skool bus ! Fancy polished aluminum rear rims. Plush drivers seat as well as the kids seat. Air conditioning! And upper storage, never seem that in a school bus Maybe for backpacks that all the kids use today !

You should have used a little cup of gasoline held up under the nest - no extra cleaning required. But I suppose the spray did the job. 👏🏻👍🏻

I used to live in Maryland (Frederick County), and they owned some 2014 Bluebirds similar to this one. I rode a few of them as spares and they ran nicely. I hope the church that got this bus likes it.

Absolutely let's see you turn the school bus into a church bus. God bless you fellas for doing this. A church is only as strong as its kids who need a good reliable bus. Baby blue with a white strip down the sides was our colors at our church at Kelham Ave Baptist church in okc.

3 kids to a seat when I was driving those last year..so looks like the biggest you can get. We had seatbelts recently installed, and it was 3 per seat. Not all school districts..or bus manufacturers have seatbelts. Love the Bluebirds..

I LOVE SCHOOL BUSES. The Thomas saf-t-liner C2 I rode for 9 years is numbered 594. ( pretty sure it's still in service)

Hi there I think a baby blue or even a metallic blue as a collour for the bus would make the bus stand out wherever you go but would keep the grill white or maybe change that to black I have an idea that the blue and the aluminum wheels will compliment the other and it the grill is chrome keep it just as is

That looks like an ideal Church bus and probably the right size. I would do the repairs and paint it. Could you just buy a new bonnet/ hood? It would save you filling all those holes and save time. The extra storage is a good idea. I wouldn't mess with the inside too much it is not going to be lived in after all just to get you from A to B. Good luck with this project Michael.👍👍

Id replace the 2 spot mirrors that go on tge hood (thats what the holes are for) as those mirrors help with vehicles right next to you in your blind spot that you may not see!!! Its safer with those spot mirrors!!!

You should go grab some aluminum wheels for the front to match the back. Any semi salvage yard should have them.

That blue bird vision is loaded, air conditioning, air brakes, am fm stereo and pa system. And luggage racks along with an air door you got a good deal. Depending on the rear axle gear ratio plug into the computer and shut off the speed governer and see what shes got. Also check the refrigerant charge on the air conditioning also. You are missing the battey box door tho on the bus

Very nice Bluebird! Knowing these buses, the 5th digit of the VIN identifies the size. The biggest is an 84 passenger (N in the vin), down to 78 passenger (K) to a 72 passenger (G), which I see a lot of Visions are. Can’t wait to see more!

Only one of the two AC compressor clutches was turning that could be why the AC was struggling.

These are such fine buses to ride in. I got my CDL with it in 2021. Does it have the rear view camera? Oh.... and REMEMBER to stop for train tracks, other traffic will expect it. The cubby over your chair is where I kept the First Aid and log books. Check the codder pins often at the front.

The can get it declassified as a school bus and they won't have to stop at the tracks. But until then a cop wouldn't know if it's registered as a school bus or not.

There are laws that saw at least in New York that it has to be about 90 % different color then chrome yellow ( school bus color ) . It can not look like a school bus , the destination sign .Some buses have higher head room and pa system,inside racks , rear air.Yours has some options that regular buses do not. We had a nice Thomas that had a lot of extras when i was a partner in a contract school bus company A t2000 use to be the one to have in a bus with no hood. Yes I would like to see what you all do with her !

I just watched your last bus purchase video before this one. So you learned a bit since last purchase and now know what Blue Bird is vs Yellow Bird. LOL, I was yelling at the computer when it wouldn't start. The Key goes in upside down, and it probably has an interlock to where you must turn it back to the ACC position first, you'll hear a solenoid click, then you can turn the key forward to the ON and START position. It may not be equipped with that interlock but both of my later model Blue Birds do. As far as those front mirrors, if it's for a Church, I don't think I'd replace them. They ARE NOT blind spot mirrors and you're not supposed to use them or depend on them as such. They are called CrossView or CrossOver mirrors. They are for the driver to be able to check and make sure there is not small kids in front of the bus before they proceed forward after a drop. Bus looks better without them, and you will find yourself hitting your head on them when in a hurry and walk around the bus to quick paying attention to something else. I'd fill those holes when I did my Bondo work. Only thing wrong with that bus, which is nature of the beast and not a thing you can do about it, is it has all the EPA required emissions. It does however at least have the best powertrain option with the Red Cummins 6.7 ISB and should be the Allison 2500 PTS transmission. Just keep up on emissions maintenance, don't run it out of DEF and it should be a good one for many years being a Church bus.
