Ok ok ok. The first one gets a bad rap because of the sequels. It *is* a body-horror movie with disturbing concepts and scenes, but it is at least an entertaining movie, and not nearly as gross-out as people think. The sequels are deranged, terrible, and just as disgusting as people assume the franchise is.

I had to go back and rewatch but you're right lmaoo. Theres like a 2 second shot of the kids running to the kitchen and if you pause it you can clearly see theyre just andy in different clothes with a darker skinned one on the side 😭

What i get from this is the first 2 movies had an underlying hint of sarcasm, raunchyness and masochism that the rest lack. Also watch buzz lightyear of star command.

Friendly reminder: Sid never knew the toys were alive. He was growing up in an obviously troubled household and was honestly very creative with some of his creations. He was using the toys as a therapeutic outlet for his internalized frustrations. It's better than doing it on, say, small animals or his little sister.

I remember when Disney World in Orlando, specifically MGM Studios Park, had a Pizza Planet themed restaurant & arcade. It was phenomenal. They torn it down, unfortunately to make room for the shallow so-called “experience” of the Star Wars section, unfortunately, the last time I visited which was in 2022. It was next to the Muppets 3D ride.

Little bit of a fun fact about the first movie woody was originally supposed to be a complete ass but they changed his character because he was just a bit too mean and they didn’t want him to be completely irredeemable! Also the movie came out in November of 95! (I was 7 months old then.)

It's impressive how good Toy Story 2 looks to this day. The first one looks understandably dated (even though it’s still great) but by the second movie Pixar had really nailed their animation.

Toy Story 2 has my 2 favorite animated scenes of all time. Buzz running from the spikes in the intro and the woody dream sequence. I don’t know why but those 2 scenes have stuck with me for my whole life. The dream sequence was also unsettling to me as a child. Even now I can feel the same feeling I felt back then.
