I've been watching Josh and Erin's journey for several years now. I'm amazed how smart Josh is, he can build anything. Erin... how is she so strong. This petite woman can out work just about any guy. Erin's carrying 80 lb bags of concrete and lifting steel beams.

Started learning that the title of your video's doesn't always mean what we think. In over your heads, block work is above head height. Started following you guys just as you built the decking. Never missed an episode. I love what you guys are about and what you do.

You are an inspiration. The pioneering spirit. What makes America great. It's people. People like you. Congratulations

Lets just all take a moment to appreciate the fact that youve built all this blockwork, and it is ALOT of blockwork, without any scaffold.......

I just did my first block foundation (small ) for a cabin project, after i got the all clear from the surgeon from a massive rotator cuff tear. Erin- you out work most men!! Take your time you (both ) got this!

A rental renovation, "A" frame addition and a Café project all at the same time. You two are amazing (workaholics) 😄Looking forward to the Café opening.

You both work so hard with incredible back breaking work. Laying those blocks are so painful on the body. I know because I've done it. Truly admire your dedication to achieve your goals and dreams. Your entire family is inspiring to watch as you all come together for your common goals.

My wife and I built 4 homes in 20 years ,,,,, the last house took us 3 and a half years to finish with us doing all the work.... It was hard and at times I hated it but in the end i was glad for the time we spent together and the results were amazing and well worth it . You all remind me of us !

I absolutely loved the clips of you getting started and how young everyone was; a beautiful trip down memory lane for me and made me smile and reflect on your progress. Erin it amazes me to watch your work ethic, and your ability to overcome obstacles. Those blocks aren't light, but you make it seem easy. I love watching you both and have watched your channel from almost the beginning of your build. Seeing how much the kids have grown is awesome. I remember watching Erin carry your daughter on her back while working. Now she's helping you guys. The love you guys share is so evident. I'm going to be sad when you guys are done with the build, as I look forward to these videos every week. Love you guys.

You two are warriors and I love it! I was sure you were going to hire out the block but your spirit to build this house yourselves is too strong. I love you guys for this. I'm building my own home also. The only difference is I'm cutting and milling my own lumber. I have not bought any lumber from the store. A lot of hard work.

I'm happy for both of you. I have been watching you now for almost three years, I can say you Josh, you are very lucky to marry this hard-working young lady. Others that have projects like your own, their wife only talk and talk. But this lady, despite that she has given en you three beautiful children that are well mannered, she is still productive. So congratulations!

An engineer would say, reduce total potential gravitational energy requirement, by putting the pallet of blocks as CLOSE to the final position as possible. Even a couple feet closer is saving a cheeseburger of energy over the course of a day!

You guys are courageous! What a job your doing. You have inspired many. Including me!

I think when you’re done, you both could teach young married couples how to appreciate each other. Many women have husbands that lay block and pour concrete for a living and their wives don’t understand what a grind that is as well as men. Not seeing the effort and work their wives pour into some project like this it gives each person a true respect for the other, especially those who do this kind of thing every day for years great video as always.

16 minutes of Block laying and somehow I was still entertained. I’ve seen every video, I’ve been following for years. You guys are the best. Can’t wait to visit the café someday.

A video title like that would have worried me in the past, but I've been following long enough to release the wall behind you being taller than you is what that means. And that means progress, and the end of the cement block wall part of the project is getting closer. You two are impressive.

I was already questioning myself if I missed any video. The past couple of weeks the new videos were dropped on KZread from a regular Sunday to Wednesday and now Thursday. Admiration is one of the words we can think of, witnessing all this hard work, the dedication to the job and to yourself, commitment and at the same the care for the kids and the animals. This gives me terrible flashbacks of carrying block for my dad when I was 16. No gloves. Hands shredded. Mixing mud and striking joints. Worst off is that dad was a total beast powerlifter and could lay 12’s like they were bricks. Worked me to the bone!

You guys are amazing when you decide to do something you stick to it. Congratulations on getting the courses in over your heads LOL! The title had me thinking something was not right, LOL! I know that you won't ever have to worry if a big storm comes like did before and hid under the A-Frame where the walls around the house were solid and you rode it out. Fortunately no big disaster other than to the chicken house on wheels if my memory serves me correctly. See you in the next one and have a prosperous and safe week.

Masonry work is tough. I worked for a mason for a while when I was around 17 years old after we had to sell all our cattle. I was the only help he had at the time. I had to carry the bricks, mix and haul the mortar from the front of the house to the back of the house, It was very hard work. If everything had been closer it wouldn’t have been so hard. I grew up on a dairy farm so I was used to hard work but masonry was the hardest work I’ve ever done. Y’all are doing a great job building your safe room.

My husband and I always enjoys doing projects ourselves. It’s so hard to find reliable, good workers at a fair market price. We’ve hired work out before only to be very disappointed in the price, quality and time they took to do it. Like my husband says, “WE can do a really crappy job for free” and finish before they could even start and at a very decent price. But we don’t do a crappy job. We take the time to research materials, price and processes to do the work properly! You’ve done great! So proud of you all!

I love your channel so much. My Grandpa had a farm right down the mountain from where you guys are in Slanesville. He did the same thing as you. Bought 60 acres back in the 1950’s and built his home and barn by himself and they lived there until they passed. I live in Louisiana now and I get home sick every time I watch your videos. Someday I’ll would love to visit your cafe and enjoy a coffee and reminisce about West Virginia. Thank you for the videos and the motivation you give people.

As much as you both love concrete then maybe a concrete walls, floor, roof all poured at one time. You could of been done in a week over all. That being said you are both killing it. Great job and video.

Someday you will hire subs. I am a retired carpenter 40 yrs. I just let someone else strip my roof and reshingle. At 70 I don't feel too bad about that. You are doing great, keep on keeping on. Throughout my career I never subbed out I remodeled and did all phases.
