As a remodeler and renovator ... I primarily work solitary from the demolition to the initial build to the finish work .... drywall, tile, trim, paint EVERYTHING. It's been difficult to find help and lately some young cooks at a local restaurant in town asked what I do and asked if I needed help on the projects. I said Hell yeah! Im 52 and they are mostly 25 years younger and they pick up the skills fast. We get along well and they are super fun to be around. They help me whenever they aren't working at the restaurant and I pay them $25 hour cash. THANK YOU Northern Tool and Equip for sponsoring my favorite Utube channel and getting more young eager people into these trades.!!!

I read the entire Ryan's kzread.infoUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan's Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan's Shed Plans.

FYI The drag marks in the drywall mud we’re caused by a dirty knife (dried/clumps of mud) Clean the knife off after each pull by just wiping it on the edge of your pan. Also helps to have a bucket of water handy to clean tools as you go as well.

The next guy that wants to renovate that kitchen is going to hate you for building that pantry on top of the tile. Speaking from experience lol. Also a pro-tip about tile/glass drilling. Take a bit of modeling clay or something and make a little bowl around the hole you're about to drill. Fill it with water and drill away. Not only will it keep down the dust (silica dust is no joke), but it'll also cool the bit and prevent cracking.

Hey y'all, just wanted to pass this tip I picked while putting drywall up in a our newly remodeled home. Use a hawk and a 4 inch blade when putting on your first coat of joint compound. Use one edge of the hawk to clean excess "clean" mud off the blade for reuse and another edge (preferably away from your clean mud) to scrape off any "bad" mud. This will help you stay clean and ensure that you always put on a smooth coat which will limit sanding. Once that has dried, go back with a 6" blade using the same approach. You can then go back with wider blades if you need to fill wider areas (outside corners, butt joints). Three passes may seem like a lot, but it will keep your house much cleaner and limit the amount of sanding needed. Keep up the great work and keep the content coming!

Since we moved in to our house 15 years ago, I meant to build some wardrobes in the main bedroom. My wife keeps reminding me every 6 months so it's getting annoying. I think I'll copy what you did here, and use plasterboard (dry-wall) outside rather than plywood. This was a great episode, very entertaining. You guys are very skilled and good fun :)

Desk 1leg looks odd and is at risk for breaking off if someone hits it hard enough with a oot at the bottom walking by it. Might reconsider putting another leg behind it with a few slates between them and would be stronger and look better. It all looks great but the weak lone leg that makes it also look cheap. Besides that you guys did a great job!

"pro tip" Skip the directions. Mix the mud till it's the correct consistency. Also stop using hot mud when it starts to set up and mix new batch.

When you make holes in tiles you must: 1. reduce rotation speed at the minimum 2. use water during drilling I use one tile drill all my entire life.

Practice with mixing up in pans before you try mixing up quickset in buckets. You gotta be fast, or you gonna be fighting the mud once you get 20m In. But I’ve seen homeowner’s do a lot worse, turned out great! Watch out for the Scooby snacks in ur mud!

Great job. I love how it turned out. The audible on the door color was a good call. I wish you would have floated the desk on the left though. Something about the single leg looks a little funky to me. Maybe have Jamie weld up a bracket? Nice work and thanks for the video!

I’ve done the caulking the wall to another wall just like that with no issues before it does help out with not having to put another inside corner paper tape and worrying about re-texturing and all that. You should be fine. And for mounting the 2 x 4 to the wall with the Lexan like you did, another way of doing that is putting some of those big butterfly anchors through the 2 x 4 and threw the sheet rock of the existing wall. And that holds pretty well also. Just pre-drill the holes where it’s needed and install the butterflies on the 2 x 4 and push them through the pre-drilled holes on the existing wall and tighten them down. That seems to work very well. I never had an issue doing it that way, and I’ve been doing it that way for plenty of years. Specially small add-ons like for instance your pantry or a small closet etc. But I do also use a liquid nail or some thing like what you used that Lexan

It's just me but I would have anchored the new studs where not joists or studs where found behind the drywall to be structural sound over time adhesives can and will lose it's grip if you did glue it on unprepared surface tip of the day hot mud is easier to get a smoot finish if you grab sponge to it and wet sanded to get the finish for the next day other than that you guys did great big fan of you work ...saludos from Colorado

The drag marks are from the dried crumbs on the trowel. Keep it clean and the work/rework will be much less. Kudos for trying your hand. You’ll get better with practice. Love your channel. Keep it real

The reason the opening dimensions don’t check out on those doors is because you’re able to split the head of the jamb and recess the track inside of the casing.

The tile/glas cutter is not supposed to go into the back wall/floor. Just to get the tile and then switch to a normal dril: Pro tip 😊
