They're only soft fibre pine studs, unlike when structures where built with harder timbers. Jemmy bar works better for the 2nd stage & far more control than pliers.

Can you show the detail you did at the door for the vynal floor? Is it just butted up against it without the 1/4 expansion gap?

The experienced carpenter nailed it. The new guy screwed everything up. I was thinking of becoming a mason, but nothing is set in stone just yet. I was also thinking of becoming a plumber, but that turned out to be a pipe dream. I was shocked when I got let go from the electrician's apprenticeship. I used to work at an orange juice factory, but I got canned because I couldn't concentrate. My sister was fired from the hot dog stand when she caught putting her hair in a bun. Now, I know a lot of jokes about unemployed people, too... but they wouldn't work here.

I have a question. I leave in Europe and even when I wanted to build a concrete base for a simple fence the construction guys made it a lot deeper and with a lot more rebar reinforcements. For a house the foundation would be a considerably deeper and not just the perimeter of the house but the whole area where the house sits. So are the houses here completely over engineered or am I missing something. As a note there are no extreme temperatures and I am not only talking about brick houses but also wooden ones.

I've been a long time fan of your entire video collection on KZread and was excited when I saw the latest project started on your site. BUT, to watch it, do I understand I now have to pay, at least $1.99 a month, as a member? You have very cleverly marketed you site - and income potential - with You Tube subscribers and in-content ads, but have you now gone to "subscriber-only" content? Please calrify....Thanks

When shooting those frames, the pins/nails are chiseled so they only pop out left or right - turn your gun 90 degrees so the left and right isn't a face.

Curious to know what y'all's most hated things about construction are. Mine is being cut man for roof sheathing. Makes the day so long. Waiting for measurements all day and when you find something to do while waiting, it never fails, as soon as I get ready to do my little side projects - somebody yells out some measurements. Drives me insane. You could wait for an hour and as soon as you think of something to do here come the measurements. That and bending down to pick stuff up. Top half of my body weighs a ton by the end of the day
