Since you are already that deep into it, I would go ahead with the ultrasonic cleaner. I have seen that help with corrosion on a board.
I tried, but it didn't bring it back to life.
It must be warranty foam.

I've heard of the ESD foam issue, but this seems like a different type of foam. Maybe some of the same chemicals, though.
