My favorite memories of WCMC AM include the live broadcast of the Magnatones doing "Under the Boardwalk" and the Starlight Ballroom broadcasts that ran from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. to coax people to the dances back in 1965-66. Some of the later 1966 broadcasts featured Ron Diamond and were frequently repeated on different nights.

I remember watching this station on vacation in Ocean City (it was WMGM by then?) The local programs were broadcast in black and white, even up to the early 80's

These bring back many fond memories. The test at 0:07 is early 70's. When I heard/saw this I got instant recall of watching tv in Wildwood when I was child in the early 70's. When times were much better.

The local cable in the 1960s and 1970s was innovative in broadcasting time and weather--they panned across a row of round dials and gauges that gave time, temperature, wind direction, humidity, and barometric pressure. Back and forth! This in a time with no weather radio or a Weather Channel. There was also a public access channel which broadcast some live performers on occasion--Dave ? the organist from the Hotel Lincoln was one I remember.

TV 40 (as an NBC affiliate) goes off the air for good on New Year's Eve. However AM 1230 is as strong as ever as an oldies station.
