    Both of these look like excellent products. I'd like to have a nice kenzan. I do a lot of smaller arrangements for get well gifts and the like., as well as centerpieces for home use, and the occasional large altar arrangement. I'd love to see more traditional arrangements this year.

    I think the ikebana scissors would greatly help the flower arranger who has arthritic fingers (like me). Both items look extremely elegant. Woukd like to seeyou do a contemporary arrangement with the kenzan.

    The black in a black container just disappears- it’s good, and makes sense - I’m not sure why these weren’t out before now. 😀 Yes, it’s a new year, spring will come and it’s all about growth and learning. 😀

    Oh Wow, I didn't know about the cleaning rubber!! I feel that using those scissors with practice lets you relax your fingers and grip and letting gravity do the work. (I DON NOT WANT TO ENTER THE GIVE AWAY.) Let someone who needs it wins. I have more than enough tools. 🥰

    I've never used a kenzan but I love the idea of the sustainability of it, I've used glass frogs in vases at home for the same reason!

    Thank you😀 I would have to tidy up to show you! But maybe that’s an idea to do a little video showing my flower room.? One thing that’s important is flexibility - to be able to change a space from video studio to teaching area, to man cave with a flowery twist! These kenzan are very nice 😊

    i remember being totally in love with this kind of scissors during an ikebana class we had in university(i studied japanese), japanese things like that have a unique charm to them! 😅 i love peony ikebana, they always look weird, almost baroque like

    Thank you! I still am learning with my ikebana journey and teacher - and now I can teach as well! I think ikebana takes us in a different direction and that is good to explore, so yes, there will be ikebana designs coming up! I love the fact that you follow the seasons with ikebana.

    Really interesting, Japanese scissors are so well made. I’ve loved trying ikebana and ikebana inspired, always on look out for secondhand ikebana containers. I’m sure you’ve probably done these ideas before but - designs if you were entering a floral competition, arrangement for a film set, monochromatic arrangement, design for a twenties inspired party?

    Thanks for all you do. I appreciate the hard work you put into your videos. I do a lot of arrangements for my Church. Things have to be tall but not busy, as they don't show well on the cameras. Also they can't cause a distraction from the speaker standing nearby. I would appreciate if you could suggest a few simple, tall arrangements. Thank you.

    I do find them great - and like a knife you can keep them in your hand as you work - floristry scissors you tend to put down and pick up a lot.

    Saw a celebrity gardener Ikebana flower arranging in Japan recently and it sparked my interest. Bought a book to get some tips but haven’t gone as far as to source a Kenzan yet, but would love to create something with a Japanese theme.

    Thank you so much 😊 I’m afraid I live in Hungary now, so unable to teach in Scotland. Your best advice to see which style of ikebana you like then see what they have online for learning. That was how I found my first teacher in Edinburgh - Deborah Hathorn. She is a teacher of Sogetsu, and was listed on their website. I hope you can find a teacher - but see which style you like as well - well, known ones are Sogetsu, Ohara, Ikenobo.

    I've had trouble with my kenzans rusting in the past, so I'd be interested to see how the black ones hold up, or if you have any tips to keep the rust at bay

    Ahh, if they rust they will never be good. I worked in a hotel and we bought pinholders to use in glassware but they rusted. We tried everything, including hammerite paint! The best advice is to find copper or genuine Japanese ones then they won’t rust at all. Rust in glass isn’t a good look!
