It's an amazing thing to see a control player's brain work with an aggro deck

The best card to pair with Thrillseeker is Questing Beastcaller since you can sack it for the big damage backup ability, then put the counters on the Thrillseeker and nearly double the burn with another sack. You can easily burn out an opponent with 17 damage or so out of nowhere. Thrillseeker is also bonkers with Cacophony Scamp.

Spell Pierce has gotten much better with all of these adventure creatures having instant/sorcery on them and denying the creature is a a 2 for 1.

​@@LordidudeIt's similar to how a 1/1 token is equal to half of one card in value. The adventure is normally over cost by one mana in comparison to it's effect normally on a card. Take the new whale for example. It can bounce a creature for two mana. Normally that effect cost one. Hopefully this helped.

Its not a 2 for 1 an adventure card has just some extra value printed on it so you can say its like 1 an a half card. (Same as scry one is equal to drawing half a card. Put a Land bottom and you have skipped a dead draw but did not draw a card)

I just realized by watching this video that Ruby is a two CMC mana creature with haste and i dont know how that slipped under my radar during spoilers.

8:50 You have Halana&Alena with rage for a total of 5 power, Migloz with H&A 5 power boost for a total 9 of power and Ruby with her "4 power or more +2/+2" boost for a total of 6 power. That's exactly 20, unless I missed something. Did you miss that p/t boost from Ruby? I know I did it initially. Also, I think it's the blue players being blue and saying that you're a terrible player _for_ playing aggro, not that you're terrible _at_ playing aggro, lol. Edit: Oh, you caught it ten seconds afterwards. My bad.

Reminds me of that dwarf rune deck from before last rotation. "Suddenly dead" aggro gotta be one of my favorite genders

Questing Druid seemed to overperform. I think people were unnecessarily low on the card. An already decent creature attached to a draw spell we already know is good seems incredibly flexible. An aggro card and a prowess card that provide card advantage in decks that like it is underrated.

I haven't been following the previews, so this is the first I've seen of it, but improving an already played card *then stapling a creature to the back* seems busted to me.

@@klarthkoken1925 its not a strict upgrade on reckless impulse though. only until next end step is quite a bit worse. instant Speed is nice though.

Final game, had the opponent not had interaction, the thrillseeker alone was lethal. When CGB played the thrillseeker, the counters go on Raiju pumping it up to a 5/5, then you swing with the remaining three creatures, pumping Raiju to a 6/6. The other creatures are modified dealing two from the Raiju's ability, then you sacrifice the Raiju with the last remaining mana to deal six and lethal!

The way I beat mono white with that "perfect" curve is by using 2 for 1 combo tricks. Soul partition is great for resetting a planeswalker that's being attacked and also for removing their ossification and opening up a creature to block their attack.

I suppose it is nice to see a viable Gruul deck again

Love the counter, it's so small and meaningless but makes a difference

It causes opponents to take 1 extra damage from Thundering Raiju because the counter makes CGB a modified creature.

I've been playing a temur version of something similar to mythic since a few months ago. Its kinda gross when your supposedly aggro deck has to discard to hand size on turn 5, while the control deck blows up literally everything you play.

In the last game the opponent seemed to intentionally hold before taking action so that the other gets desensitized to the timer.

Pump Halana and Alena to 5, Migloz gets haste and 5 counters so it’s attacking for 9, and Ruby gets +2/+2 from her ability so you attack for 5 + 9 + 6 = 20 exactly Edit: you saw the +2/+2 from Ruby later but not sure how you got to 19 before that haha

@@busTedOaS Incorrect. From judge rulings on Gatherer: After you pay the {1W} cost one or more times, a second ability triggers. Players may respond to the new ability at that point. As that ability resolves, Intrepid Adversary gets its counters.

Bad aggro player? No. Bad compared to CGB's normal level of play, yes. Still not bad.

I believe that last game was a L either way If Monstrous rage went on raiju, it would be bounced by Ottawara If it went on the etching, they could bounce it, leave the raiju and it would still not be lethal, but their turn would be the same, attack all, win with sheoldred

Man, do I hate thalia... my archenemy is still farewell, but you see here the wicked lass becomes good as soon as your deck is remotely interesting. Ban please, better late than 1 more year

Is it me, or has WoT beefed green up?

Caution: this isn't really a "Mythic Contender" deck. After spending a couple days running this, its barely holding it's own in gold league. The meta is built around stopping mono red, so this rarely wins early, and it has very little stamina to go long. I'd say its disadvantaged against almost any other deck on the ladder. It's also very rare heavy on cards that won't be useful in other decks. Highly regret spending wildcards on it. Its a very fun deck, but not at all competitive.

I know I'm weird, but I'm glad there's no rotation on standard this year. Not because it improves standard per se, but because it now means there are sets on standard that aren't on alchemy and sets on alchemy that aren't on standard. If they rotate together all sets on standard are also on alchemy (though yes, some cards work differently).

Where are the card cosmetics? Must be having financial issues.

Still can't get myself to play standard on Arena anymore thanks to delaying rotation. Combined with shuffler/matchmaker, and it's just a huge no. Shame, cos MTG is so good. Paper it is for the time being.

Im not a fans of aggro deck. Especially red green...

way too much thinking for aggro. you allow your opponent so much time to think as well. aggro should push and push and push so they have no time to think, you want them to make hasty decissions because they try to adapt to your speed. and you should attack each turn to overwhelm them, drain their removal options quickly. maybe that deck needs more front line cannon fodder creatures.

To play aggro, you have to turn your brain off.

This game is completely rigged, total bs
