5:30 for A/B.

I've used this plugin in the past, but as of recent I tried using it again, and I was really blown away by the punch and glue it can give to the master / final mix when used with the right settings

I literally do the same thing you do! That inspires confidence! I figured it out the hard way, sadly. I was looking for a video to see if my revelation (on the settings) was weird, or standard. Looks like my ear wasn't lying to me! Thanks for sharing this information!

Really good plugin,I used it in some projects and worked wonders. My drums were much thicker and punchier,that's right it makes them so punchy and sound warm. But for a while now it hasn't been working. I found out that I tried to use AU version for recent projects and that's why it didn't work. AU version is broken. VST3 version works properly.

I do that but not so many some instruments needs dynamic range but i use it on separate lead to control dynamics and on drum bus and then very suddle on the master

Um... usually that fast a release would introduce distortion/similar artifacts which are undesirable.

....well which bundle? Go to waves site and look at whats included in your bundle, you do know waves has a variety of different bundles that include different plugins right? If the SSL is not in your bundle then that means you gotta buy it

Could someone elaborate on make up gain / threshold relationship please?

Instrumental Palace despite that’s really good compressor the user from the video doesn’t have any idea how to properly use this tool. There’s any relationship between makeup and threshold in this comp, as makeup makes compressed signal louder, not more comprehensive. Without any good limiter after its just useless. Adding it on master or while mastering isn’t the best option.

Just bought this plug in today and no matter where i move the threshold the needle never moves meaning no compression is happening, ive uninstalled it and reinstalled it and that didnt fix it. also to note the incoming volume was definitely loud enough that it should work fine. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello mate - I had the same issue in ableton for a while, and what solved it was using the VST version rather than the AU version (I'm on MAc)

This happens to me with the stereo module only. The mono module meter works fine. The only way I can get the stereo meter to move is if I side chain it to the vocal or instrument. It doesn't seem right to me.

The VST3 stereo plug in does not work properly. Try using the regular VST stereo module, and I bet it works. It works for me now..Of course this is 7 months after your post. I'm sure you have resolved the problem by now.

For EDM release of 0.1 is good, but whatever sounds best

The problem I have with using these is; if you have any elements that come in and out and add a significant portion of the track that is louder than other parts, you will hear the glue compressor fluctuating in volume in an very obvious and undesirable way.

Yeah... I really like limiters, but I'm less and less using SSL on master, I kind of lean towards Deadmau5' opinion on SSL, I like limiters and clippers on masters, but SSL kind of squishes it a bit too much for EDM, where there already is so much processing going on
