Waves LV1 custom case build mk2

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is my DIY custom case for the Waves LV1 mixer. Total cost for the case is less than €100 and it holds the host computer, Waves FIT controller, a Tactus FOH unit, a switch, a sound card and a talkback microphone. The case fits perfectly in a Peli air 1637 case. Build time is around 2 hours.
All the components for the case were bought from Thomann and here are the links.

Very inspiring video! Thanks for giving a hint that i could build this on my own! :) makes sooo much sense! Question: Have you considered mounting the Fit on 19” rails in the top? I thought it makes much sense because the width of the housing is the same for that!

Mounting the FIT on rails makes absolute sense. Would make the whole thing even sturdier as well. Good point. Might be the way to go next time 😀

I have the OCD Labs one. I’m starting to want a doghouse.

I here you :) This is really built to be as light and small as possible. And the sacrifices are things like doghouse and place for other stuff like keyboard, lights, extra computer. But the good thing is that as you grow you can build a bigger case for your needs. That's the beauty with this modular system in my opinion.

What kind of server do you use? Do you have them in the stage rack? ✌🏼

The server is included in the in/out box at the bottom. It’s a Waves extreme server and the unit is by Crest and is called Tactus .foh.

hi, how about their sound quality for a heavy metal band? preamp sounds really great at live?

The cool thing about this is that there are endless possibilities to sculpt the sound. If you want clean sound you got it, by default. If you want more of an analog console sound, you got that too. So as long as you don’t need more than 64 channels, this console is IMO the most flexible console to get the sound you want. It’s like being in the studio, but live.

Hi, What you think of the new Dale Pro Audio Ionic” would this be a better buy than the DSPRO1000 ?

  • @joevegna

I can't even begin to tell you how good the Ionic is. A LOT better sound than DSPRO1000 in my opinion. It's sounds like everything is physically closer. Headroom for days and the 2k or 7k ohm, with or without harmonic distortion, essentially makes it 4 different flavors for each preamp. This is by far the best pre amp I've ever used in the live world. Bottom line: Buy!

I am curious where you got that rack unit for the NUC.

Well actually, me too. I bought everything from Amplitude Audio, and when I picked it all up the Nuc was already mounted in the rack unit. But I can ask next time I speak with them. It's actually a really nice feature.
